Abstract
To explore the dynamics of metal-to-ligand charge transfer (MLCT) excited states involving covalently bonded dimetal units, a series of quadruply bonded dimolybdenum (Mo2) complexes, namely, [Mo2]-ph, [Mo2]-naph, and [Mo2]-anth, were synthesized and characterized. Our investigations reveal a non-radiative process associated with the deactivation of the MLCT state into a low-lying dimetal-centered triplet state (3Mo2-δδ*), resulting in the populated MLCT states in these molecular systems exhibiting either extremely weak emission or being non-emissive. The influence of ligand variation on the dynamics of MLCT states was examined using femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy, with deactivation time constants determined to be 1.9 ps for [Mo2]-ph, 6.5 ps for [Mo2]-naph, and 49 ps for [Mo2]-anth. This electron transfer behaviour follows an inverse energy-gap law, contrary to the general guideline that applies to the decay of the MLCT state back to the electronic ground state. This result offers valuable insights into understanding the photochemical and photophysical properties of covalently bonded dimetal complexes.

Abstract
Three novel metal-organic architectures, [Ag3(bta)].1.5H2O (1), [Cd3(bta)2(H2O)7].5H2O (2), and [Cu11(bta)6(Hbta)2(H2O)10].29H2O (3), were obtained by reactions of the corresponding metal salts with a flexible tripodal ligand, benzene-1,3,5-triacetic acid (H3bta), and their structures were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies. The results revealed that, in complexes 1 and 2, the carboxylate groups of the bta3- ligand adopted varied coordination modes to link metal atoms and further to form three-dimensional structures with open channels occupied by water molecules, while in complex 3, for the first time, the flexible H3bta acted as a secondary building unit to generate a novel nanometer-sized metallocage, which is composed of a Cu(II) paddle wheel (square secondary building units) and bta3-/Hbta2- organic links (triangular secondary building units). The photoluminescence properties of complexes 1 and 2 were investigated, and the results showed that 2 exhibited photoluminescence in the solid state at room temperature.

Abstract
A new polymeric silver complex, [Ag(2)(L(2))(ClO(4))(2)] (L = 4,5-diazospirobifluorene), has been synthesized and shown to exhibit interesting luminescence properties in a single crystal. Structural analysis reveals a one-dimensional chain, which contains a [Ag(2)(L(2))](2+) dimer bridged with ClO(4)(-). The Ag...Ag distances are 2.776(1) and 4.575(1) A incorporated by two L ligands and by a ClO(4)(-) bridge, respectively.

Abstract
Functionalized N,N'-diphenylformamidines and their deprotonated silver(I) complexes have been synthesized: silver(I) N,N'-di(4-alkyl)phenylformamidinate (alkyl = methyl, ethyl, n-butyl, and n-hexadecyl) 1-4; silver(I) N,N'-di(4-trifluoromethyl)phenylformamidinate 5, silver(I) N,N'-di(3-methoxy)phenylformamidinate 6, silver(I) N,N'-di(3-methylmercapto)phenylformamidinate 7, silver(I) N,N'-di(2-methoxy)phenylformamidinate 8, silver(I) N,N'-di(2-methylmercapto)phenylformamidinate 9. The effects of increasing the coordination number of the silver(I) centers by donor substituents on the phenyl groups have been investigated by solution and solid-state studies. Variable-temperature proton NMR (223-303 K) for 1-4 shows coupling between the proton attached to the amidinate carbon and the (107/109)Ag centers at room temperature which is unaffected by cooling (2). For the four-coordinate complexes, 8 and 9, such coupling is only observed on cooling. Molecular weight measurements recorded in solution by vapor pressure osmometry at 310 K show some aggregation to higher molecular weight species than simple dimers for 1-4 and 6, but 8 and 9 exist as discrete dimeric species. Measurement of thermal stability shows the expected increase in stability with increasing coordination number. Compounds 8 and 9 were structurally characterized by X-ray methods. Both show four-coordinate silver dimers bridged by two amidinate ligands with additional longer interactions with the ether oxygens or thioether sulfurs.
