Abstract
The solid-phase method is a common method for the industrial preparation of bismuth-based materials, but it is difficult to achieve efficient photocatalytic performance due to the serious agglomeration of the material after calcination. In this study, bismuth silicate (BSO), bismuth tungstate (BWO), and BWO-BSO bismuth-based photocatalysts are successfully prepared by the solid-phase method, and BiOBr is introduced by one-step and two-step modification processes, which can create a "bridging" effect on BWO-BSO to solve the interfacial transport problem. These processes enhance the oxygen vacancies (VO) and adsorbed oxygen content, which facilitates the formation of a multi-Z heterogeneous structure and increases the electron (e-) transport rate, improving the photocatalytic performance. In particular, although Bi12SiO20 is completely converted to Bi2SiO5, more VO and adsorbed oxygen are generated during the preparation, which can solve the problem of a heterojunction. In addition, the one-step modification process can also improve the yield of the photocatalyst and solve the problem of preparation efficiency. Compared with the unmodified photocatalyst, the degradation rate of rhodamine B (Rh B) by the photocatalyst TBBB (BWO-BSO-BiOBr modified by the two-step process) and OBBB (BWO-BSO-BiOBr modified by the one-step process) obtained by the two-step method and the one-step method increases by 83.8% and 88.67% within 50 min, respectively. The study provides a new idea for the efficient preparation and modification of bismuth-based photocatalysts by the solid-phase method and provides a new way for the control of defects and multiheterojunctions.

Abstract
Environmental pollution management and renewable energy development are humanity's biggest issues in the 21st century. The rise in atmospheric CO2, which has surpassed 400 parts per million, has stimulated research on CO2 reduction and conversion methods. Presently, photocatalytic conversion of CO2 to valuable hydrocarbons enables the transformation of solar energy into chemical energy and offers a novel avenue for energy conversion while regulating the greenhouse effect. This is an ideal strategy for simultaneously addressing environmental issues and the energy crisis. Photocatalysts are essential to photocatalytic processes. Photocatalyst is the core of photocatalytic technology, and graphite carbon nitride (g-C3N4) has attracted much attention because of its nonmetallic characteristics, and it has the characteristics of low cost, tunable electronic structure, easy manufacture and strong reducibility. However, its activity is not only affected by external reaction conditions, but also by the band gap structure, physical and chemical stability, surface morphology and specific surface area of the photocatalyst it. In this paper, the application progress of g-C3N4-based photocatalytic materials in CO2 reduction is reviewed, and the modification strategies of g-C3N4-based catalysts to obtain better catalytic efficiency and selectivity in CO2 photocatalytic reduction are summarized, and the future development of this material is prospected.

Abstract
This work successfully fabricated graphitic carbon nitride and magnetically recoverable α-Fe2O3/g-C3N4/SiO2 photo-Fenton catalysts using thermal polycondensation and in situ-simple precursor drying-calcination process, respectively, was examined for model synthetic rhodamine B (RhB) dye in the presence of H2O2 and acidic pH under simulated visible light irradiation. An aqueous suspension of the reaction mixture of dye-containing wastewater was fully degraded and reached 97% of photo-Fenton degradation efficiency within 120 min followed by the production of hydroxyl radical (•OH). The dominant hydroxyl radical position generated surface charge, electrostatic potential distribution, and average local ionization potential, which contributed to the complete mineralization of RhB dye, according to the density functional theory (DFT) calculations. HPLC and GCMS experiments were performed to examine the degradation fragments of RhB and draw a plausible mechanistic pathway which showed that RhB degradation generated a series of N-deethylated products, followed by a one-time ring-opening, which indicated that photosensitization induced a photocatalysis reaction mechanism.

Abstract
Water pollution engendered from textile dyes and antibiotics is a globally identified precarious concern that is causing dreadful risks to human health as well as aquatic lives. This predicament is escalating the quest to develop competent photocatalysts that can degrade these water pollutants under solar light irradiation. Herein, we report an efficient photocatalyst comprising a hierarchical structure by integrating the layered graphitic carbon nitride (gC3N4) with nanoflakes of exfoliated BiFeO3. The coexistence of these two semiconducting nanomaterials leads to the formation of an S-scheme heterojunction. This nanocomposite demonstrated its excellent photocatalytic activity toward the degradation of several textile dyes (Yel CL2R, Levasol Yellow-CE, Levasol Red-GN, Navy Sol-R, Terq-CL5B) and various antibiotics (such as tetracycline hydrochloride (TCH), ciprofloxacin (CPX), sulfamethoxazole (SMX), and amoxicillin (AMX)) under the simulated solar light irradiation. As this photocatalyst exhibits its versatile activity toward the degradation of several commercial dyes as well as antibiotics, this work paves the path to develop a reasonable, eco-benign, and highly efficient photocatalyst that can be used in the practical approach to remediate environmental pollution.

Abstract
In this work, a novel two-dimensional/two-dimensional (2D/2D) hybrid photocatalyst consisting of Bi2WO6 (BWO) nanosheets and cotton fibers biochar (CFB) nanosheets was successfully prepared via a facile hydrothermal process. The as-prepared photocatalysts were characterized by a variety of techniques, including X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. It was revealed that amorphous CFB nanosheets were uniformly immobilized on the surface of crystalline BWO nanosheets, and an intimate contact between CFB and BWO was constructed. The photocatalytic activities of the prepared BWO and CFB-BWO photocatalysts were evaluated by photocatalytic degradation of rhodamine B (RhB) and tetracycline hydrochloride (TC-HCl) in aqueous solutions under visible-light irradiation. Compared to the pristine BWO, the CFB-BWO composite photocatalysts exhibited significant enhancement in photocatalytic activities. Among all CFB-BWO samples, the 9CFB-BWO sample with the CFB mass ratio of 9% exhibited optimal photocatalytic activities for RhB or TC-HCl degradation, which was ca. 1.8 times or 2.4 times that of the pristine BWO, respectively. The improvement in photocatalytic activities of the CFB-BWO photocatalysts could be ascribed to the enhanced migration and separation of photogenerated charge carriers due to the formation of a 2D/2D interfacial heterostructure between CFB and BWO. Meanwhile, the possible mechanism of CFB-BWO for enhanced photocatalytic performance was also discussed. This work may provide a new approach to designing and developing novel BWO-based photocatalysts for the highly efficient removal of organic pollutants.

Abstract
Graphite-phase carbon nitride (g-C3N4) has shown great potential for antibiotic wastewater treatment due to its unique electronic structure and corresponding to visible light. In this study, a series of Bi/Ce/g-C3N4 photocatalysts with different doping amount were developed by direct calcination method for Rhodamine B and sulfamethoxazole photocatalytic degradation. The experiment result shows that the photocatalytic performance of Bi/Ce/g-C3N4 catalysts were better than that of single component samples. Under the optimal experimental conditions, the degradation rates of RhB (20 min) and SMX (120 min) by 3Bi/Ce/g-C3N4 reached 98.3% and 70.5%, respectively. The theoretical calculation results of DFT show that after Bi and Ce doping modification, the band-gap width of g-C3N4 is reduced to 1.215 eV and carrier migration rate is greatly improved. The enhanced photocatalytic activity was mainly attributed to the capture of electrons after doping modification, which inhibition of photogenerated carriers recombination and reduced the gap width. The cyclic treatment experiment of sulfamethoxazole showed that Bi/Ce/g-C3N4 catalysts had good stability. Ecosar evaluation and leaching toxicity test showed that Bi/Ce/g-C3N4 can be safely used for wastewater treatment. This study provides a perfect strategy for modifying g-C3N4 and a new way to improve the photocatalytic performance.

Abstract
Energy shortages are a major challenge to the sustainable development of human society, and photocatalytic solar energy conversion is a potential way to alleviate energy problems. As a two-dimensional organic polymer semiconductor, carbon nitride is considered to be the most promising photocatalyst due to its stable properties, low cost, and suitable band structure. Unfortunately, pristine carbon nitride has low spectral utilization, easy recombination of electron holes, and insufficient hole oxidation ability. The S-scheme strategy has developed in recent years, providing a new perspective for effectively solving the above problems of carbon nitride. Therefore, this review summarizes the latest progress in enhancing the photocatalytic performance of carbon nitride via the S-scheme strategy, including the design principles, preparation methods, characterization techniques, and photocatalytic mechanisms of the carbon nitride-based S-scheme photocatalyst. In addition, the latest research progress of the S-scheme strategy based on carbon nitride in photocatalytic H2 evolution and CO2 reduction is also reviewed. Finally, some concluding remarks and perspectives on the challenges and opportunities for exploring advanced nitride-based S-scheme photocatalysts are presented. This review brings the research of carbon nitride-based S-scheme strategy to the forefront and is expected to guide the development of the next-generation carbon nitride-based S-scheme photocatalysts for efficient energy conversion.

Abstract
Photocatalysis has demonstrated the potential to solve challenges in various practical application fields such as energy and environmental science due to its environmental friendliness. However, the photocatalytic activity is mainly affected by the weak absorption of visible light and the low separation efficiency of photogenerated carriers. Herein, an S-doped g-C3N4/Bi5O7I heterojunction was designed by the calcination method. It was found that S doping not only reduces the band gap of g-C3N4, which raises the optical absorption boundary of g-C3N4 from 465 nm to 550 nm. At the same time, the introduction of S elements leads to new doping energy levels, which can act as photogenerated electron trapping centers and thus inhibit the complexation of photogenerated carriers. Second, the construction of the heterojunction greatly facilitates the transport of carriers and the separation of electrons and holes driven by the built-in electric field. Finally, the abundant oxygen vacancies in the system result in defective energy levels that not only promote the activation of molecular oxygen, but also act as photogenerated electron traps, which further boost the separation of electron-hole pairs. Benefiting from the optimized performance, the photocatalytic reaction rates of S-doped g-C3N4/Bi5O7I are 5.2 and 2.1 times higher than those of g-C3N4 and Bi5O7I, respectively. This work provides a viable idea for the potential development of non-metal doping combined with heterojunction photocatalytic systems.

Abstract
Bi-based semiconductor materials have special layered structure and appropriate band gap, which endow them with excellent visible light response ability and stable photochemical characteristics. As a new type of environment-friendly photocatalyst, they have received extensive attention in the fields of environmental remediation and energy crisis resolution and have become a research hotspot in recent years. However, there are still some urgent issues that need to be addressed in the practical large-scale application of Bi-based photocatalysts, such as the high recombination rate of photogenerated carriers, limited response range to visible spectra, poor photocatalytic activity, and weak reduction ability. In this paper, the reaction conditions and mechanism of photocatalytic reduction of CO2 and the typical characteristics of Bi-based semiconductor materials are introduced. On this basis, the research progress and application results of Bi-based photocatalysts in the field of reducing CO2, including vacancy introduction, morphological control, heterojunction construction, and co-catalyst loading, are emphasized. Finally, the future prospects of Bi-based photocatalysts are prospected, and it is pointed out that future research directions should be focused on improving the selectivity and stability of catalysts, deeply exploring reaction mechanisms, and meeting industrial production requirements.

Abstract
A highly sensitive photoelectrochemical aptasensor based on phosphorus-doped hollow tubular g-C3N4/Bi/BiVO4 (PT-C3N4/Bi/BiVO4) for tobramycin (TOB) detecting was developed. This aptasensor is a self-powered sensing system which could generate the electrical output under visible light irradiation with no external voltage supply. Based on the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) effect and unique hollow tubular structure of PT-C3N4/Bi/BiVO4, the PEC aptasensor exhibited an enhanced photocurrent and favorably specific response to TOB. Under the optimized conditions, the sensitive aptasensor presented a wider linearity to TOB in the range of 0.01-50 ng mL-1 with a low detection limit of 4.27 pg mL-1. This sensor also displayed a satisfying photoelectrochemical performance with optimistic selectivity and stability. In addition, the proposed aptasensor was successfully applied to the detection of TOB in river water and milk samples.

Abstract
Recently, global-scale attempts have been conducted to develop clean technologies and affordable materials to remediate pharmaceutical contaminants of water resources that are resistant to the biodegradation. In line with global efforts, this study reports a facile method to fabricate Bi nanocrystals in situ decorated on WO3 nanoplates and its composite with graphitic carbon nitride (WO3/Bi/g-C3N4) for photocatalytic degradation of fluoroquinolone-type antibiotics (ciprofloxacin and ofloxacin). The designed ternary S-scheme WO3/Bi/g-C3N4 composite material was fully characterized by physicochemical and electrochemical analysis. Depositing the cost-effective and earth-abundant Bi nanocrystals onto WO3 via a facile reduction route has been shown to increase the boosting of electron flux at their interface (Schottky junction). The S-scheme separation is confirmed by the calculation of band positions and the analysis of photogenerated hydroxyl radicals and holes. The complete removal of contaminants was obtained over the WO3/Bi/g-C3N4 photocatalyst after 90 min under visible light irradiation. The present work would provide a rational route for developing Bi NP-based photocatalysis to replace metallic Au, Pt, and Ag NPs.

Abstract
Graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4), with facile synthesis, unique structure, high stability, and low cost, has been the hotspot in the field of photocatalysis. However, the photocatalytic performance of g-C3N4 is still unsatisfactory due to insufficient capture of visible light, low surface area, poor electronic conductivity, and fast recombination of photogenerated electron-hole pairs. Thus, different modification strategies have been developed to improve its performance. In this review, the properties and preparation methods of g-C3N4 are systematically introduced, and various modification approaches, including morphology control, elemental doping, heterojunction construction, and modification with nanomaterials, are discussed. Moreover, photocatalytic applications in energy and environmental sustainability are summarized, such as hydrogen generation, CO2 reduction, and degradation of contaminants in recent years. Finally, concluding remarks and perspectives on the challenges, and suggestions for exploiting g-C3N4-based photocatalysts are presented. This review will deepen the understanding of the state of the art of g-C3N4, including the fabrication, modification, and application in energy and environmental sustainability.

Abstract
The increasing demand for searching highly efficient and robust technologies in the context of sustainable energy production totally rely onto the cost-effective energy efficient production technologies. Solar power technology in this regard will perceived to be extensively employed in a variety of ways in the future ahead, in terms of the combustion of petroleum-based pollutants, CO2 reduction, heterogeneous photocatalysis, as well as the formation of unlimited and sustainable hydrogen gas production. Semiconductor-based photocatalysis is regarded as potentially sustainable solution in this context. g-C3 N4 is classified as non-metallic semiconductor to overcome this energy demand and enviromental challenges, because of its superior electronic configuration, which has a median band energy of around 2.7 eV, strong photocatalytic stability, and higher light performance. The photocatalytic performance of g-C3 N4 is perceived to be inadequate, owing to its small surface area along with high rate of charge recombination. However, various synthetic strategies were applied in order to incorporate g-C3 N4 with different guest materials to increase photocatalytic performance. After these fabrication approaches, the photocatalytic activity was enhanced owing to generation of photoinduced electrons and holes, by improving light absorption ability, and boosting surface area, which provides more space for photocatalytic reaction. In this review, various metals, non-metals, metals oxide, sulfides, and ferrites have been integrated with g-C3 N4 to form mono, bimetallic, heterojunction, Z-scheme, and S-scheme-based materials for boosting performance. Also, different varieties of g-C3 N4 were utilized for different aspects of photocatalytic application i. e., water reduction, water oxidation, CO2 reduction, and photodegradation of dye pollutants, etc. As a consequence, we have assembled a summary of the latest g-C3 N4 based materials, their uses in solar energy adaption, and proper management of the environment. This research will further well explain the detail of the mechanism of all these photocatalytic processes for the next steps, as well as the age number of new insights in order to overcome the current challenges.

Abstract
Bismuth-based nanostructures (BBNs) have attracted extensive research attention due to their tremendous development in the fields of photocatalysis and electro-catalysis. BBNs are considered potential photocatalysts because of their easily tuned electronic properties by changing their chemical composition, surface morphology, crystal structure, and band energies. However, their photocatalytic performance is not satisfactory yet, which limits their use in practical applications. To date, the charge carrier behavior of surface-engineered bismuth-based nanostructured photocatalysts has been under study to harness abundant solar energy for pollutant degradation and water splitting. Therefore, in this review, photocatalytic concepts and surface engineering for improving charge transport and the separation of available photocatalysts are first introduced. Afterward, the different strategies mainly implemented for the improvement of the photocatalytic activity are considered, including different synthetic approaches, the engineering of nanostructures, the influence of phase structure, and the active species produced from heterojunctions. Photocatalytic enhancement via the surface plasmon resonance effect is also examined and the photocatalytic performance of the bismuth-based photocatalytic mechanism is elucidated and discussed in detail, considering the different semiconductor junctions. Based on recent reports, current challenges and future directions for designing and developing bismuth-based nanostructured photocatalysts for enhanced photoactivity and stability are summarized.

Abstract
The excessive consumption of tetracycline (TC) could bring a series of unpredictable health and ecological risks. Therefore, it is crucial to develop convenient and effective detection technology for TC. Herein, a "signal on" photoelectrochemical (PEC) aptasensor was constructed for the stable detection of TC. Specifically, the g-C3N4/BiVO4 were used to promote the migration of photo-generated charges to an enhanced photocurrent response. TC aptamer probes were stably fixed on the g-C3N4/BiVO4/FTO electrode as a recognition element via covalent bonding interaction. In the presence of TC, the aptamer probes could directly recognize and capture TC. Subsequently, TC was oxidized by the photogenerated holes of g-C3N4/BiVO4, causing an enhanced photocurrent. The "signal on" PEC aptasensor displayed a distinguished detection performance toward TC in terms of a wide linear range from 0.1 to 500 nM with a low detection limit of 0.06 nM, and possessed high stability, great selectivity, and good application prospects.

Abstract
Herein, Zn3In2S6 photocatalyst with (110) exposed facet was prepared by low temperature solvothermal method. On this basis, a highly efficient binary Zn3In2S6/g-C3N4 was obtained by low temperature solvothermal method and applied to the degradation of tetracycline (TC). The samples of the preparation were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, transmission electron microscope, UV–vis diffuse reflection spectroscopy, and photoluminescence spectroscopy. Furthermore, the degradation performance of photocatalysts on TC was investigated under different experimental conditions. Finally, the mechanism of Zn3In2S6/g-C3N4 composite material degrading TC is discussed. The results show that Zn3In2S6 and Zn3In2S6/g-C3N4 photocatalysts with excellent performance could be successfully prepared at lower temperature. The Zn3In2S6/g-C3N4 heterojunction photocatalyst could significantly improve the photocatalytic activity compared with g-C3N4. After 150 min of illumination, the efficiency of 80%Zn3In2S6/g-C3N4 to degrade TC was 1.35 times that of g-C3N4. The improvement of photocatalytic activity was due to the formation of Zn3In2S6/g-C3N4 heterojunction, which promoted the transfer of photogenerated electron–holes. The cycle experiment test confirmed that Zn3In2S6/g-C3N4 composite material had excellent stability. The free radical capture experiment showed that ·O2− was the primary active material. This study provides a new strategy for the preparation of photocatalysts with excellent performance at low temperature.

Abstract
Bismuth vanadate (BiVO4) is a promising photocatalyst for water pollution degradation and photocatalytic oxygen evolution. In this work, we prepared 2D/2D BiVO4-Bi4V2O10 heterostructure with tight interfacial contact via a facile one-step hydrothermal process. The crystal structure and morphology of the samples could be easily regulated by changing the pH values of the solution. The BiVO4-Bi4V2O10 heterostructure exhibited an enhanced photodegradation rate of Cr(VI) and oxygen evolution that of bare BiVO4, indicating that the synergistic effect and the interfacial fusions between BiVO4 and Bi4V2O10 can effectively promote the migration and separation rate of photoexcited charge carriers.

Abstract
The construction of wide bandgap semiconductors with heterojunctions is an effective strategy to improve the photocatalytic activity of narrow-bandgap semiconductors, such as red phosphorus (RP). The novel step-scheme (S-scheme) heterojunction can separate photocarriers effectively while retaining the high reduction-oxidation capacity of the catalyst. Herein, a SnO2/hydrothermally treated RP (SnO2/HRP) S-scheme heterojunction was constructed and was found to display superior performance in the photocatalytic degradation of pollutants and the disinfection of bacteria. The 5%SnO2/HRP (mass ration of SnO2 with 5 wt%) composite had the strongest photocatalytic activity. It could degrade 97.5% of Rhodamine B (RhB) after 12 min of light exposure. The photodegradation rate constant of this composite reached 2.96 × 10-1 min-1, which was 4.4 and 59.2 times higher than that of pure HRP and SnO2, respectively. Furthermore, this S-scheme heterojunction composite exhibited a higher efficient photocatalytic antibacterial rate (99.4%) for Escherichia coli (E. coli) under visible-light irradiation, than pure HRP (66.4%) and SnO2 (72.9%). Further mechanistic investigations illustrated that the intimate contact between HRP and SnO2 in the S-scheme system heterojunction could effectively boost carrier transfer and improve the photocatalytic activity of the semiconductor. This investigation provided an efficient recyclable S-scheme heterojunction composite for the photocatalytic degradation of pollutants and bacteria.

Abstract
Photocatalytic degradation technology is regarded as a promising technology for dye-contained wastewater treatment due to its superior efficiency and recycling. The key to the implementation of photocatalytic degradation technology is the selection of sunlight-active photocatalyst. Graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) photocatalyst has been put into a lot of research in the field of organic pollutant degradation because of its low cost, suitable electronic structure and high chemical stability. In this perspective review, we comprehensively discuss the recent advance of photocatalytic dyes degradation over g-C3N4-based materials. The properties, structure and preparation methods of g-C3N4 are briefly introduced. Furthermore, the progress in improving the degradation efficiency of g-C3N4-based photocatalyst is highlighted in the article. The possible pathways and different active species for dyes decomposition are also summarized. We expect this review can provide instructive application of g-C3N4-based catalysts for environmental remediation.

Abstract
A novel Bi@BiOx(OH)y-modified oxidized g-C3N4 photocatalyst was successfully prepared via wet chemical reduction under alkaline conditions for the tetracycline hydrochloride removal. The prepared materials were characterized comprehensively and fully. Sufficient structural representation analyses confirmed the successful loading of Bi in the form of Bi@BiOx(OH)y complex beads. Based on basic photocatalytic studies, 10% (mass percentage) was found to be the best metal Bi loading. DRS, PL, transient photocurrent and EIS have explored the improvement of the photochemical properties of materials by loading Bi@BiOx(OH)y groups, particularly the improvement of photocatalytic properties by the SPR effect and electron traps. 10%Bi-OxCN exhibited the most suitable particle size of nonagglomerated Bi-metal groups, the largest specific surface area (43.53 m2 g-1), the most adsorption sites and the most significant photocurrent (8.694 × 10-2 mA cm-2) (7.78 times that of OxCN). This indicated that 10%Bi-OxCN had good adsorption capacity and excellent light response capability. In addition, 10%Bi-OxCN showed the best tetracycline hydrochloride removal efficiency (96.0%), with ∙O2- as the main active substance and 1O2 as the second most important substance made of ∙O2- and h+. The excellent photocatalytic effect and good reusability were fundamentally dependent on the modification of OxCN by Bi@BiOx(OH)y groups to produce a large number of active substances (including the separation efficiency of electron-hole pairs and the generation efficiency of ∙O2- and 1O2). These advantages are all related to the high specific surface area, a large number of active sites, narrow bandgap width, Bi-SPR effect, and BiOx(OH)y electron trap caused by successful loading of Bi groups.

Abstract
Owing to the severe photogenerated carriers recombination and low oxidation ability, the photocatalytic performance of pristine CsPbBr3 is still unsatisfactory. Herein, melamine foam supported S-scheme WO3/CsPbBr3 heterojunction is successfully synthesized by electrostatic self-assembly. Because of the appropriate energy level positions, an S-scheme charge migration route between CsPbBr3 and WO3 is constructed. Under solar light irradiation, melamine foam assisted WO3/CsPbBr3 exhibits significantly enhanced photocatalytic CO2 reduction performance under liquid H2O medium, and the electron consumption rate (Relectron) reaches to 1225.50 μmol.g-1.h-1, which is 1.49- and 13.7-fold of CsPbBr3 and WO3, respectively, ascribing to the boosted charges transfer and the strengthened redox ability. Furthermore, S-scheme WO3/CsPbBr3 heterojunction also exhibits strong durability, with no noticeable reduction of product yields after four 8-h cycles.

Abstract
The heterometallic Pb-iodoargentate hybrid [Pb(18-crown-6)(PbAg2I6)]n (1; 18-crown-6 = 1,4,7,10,13,16-hexaoxacyclooctadecane) was prepared via self-assembly of the tetrahedal AgI4 and octahedral PbI6 primary units using crown ether 18-crown-6 as an organic ligand in DMF solvent. The hybrid heterocomposite cocatalyst based on 1 and graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) was prepared by a facile solvothermal method. In 1, the dimeric units Ag2I6 and Pb2I10 are joined via face sharing, leading to a ternary heterometallic 1-D [PbAg2I62-]n chain containing novel Ag2Pb2I4 cubes. The 1-D chains are joined by the discoid [Pb(18-crown-6)]2+ complex cations, forming the 2-D [Pb(18-crown-6)(PbAg2I6)]n hybrid with the skeleton of [Pb2Ag2I6]n. Compound 1 shows photocatalytic activity in the degradation of MB at room temperature under visible-light irradiation. The photoelectric response measurement showed that the photocurrent of 1 increased from 1.41 to 2.43 μA/cm-2 when g-C3N4 was loaded, indicating that the introduction of a certain amount of g-C3N4 on the surface of 1 improves the separation and migration rate of photoinduced electrons and holes. The 1/g-C3N4 composite showed much higher photocatalytic efficiency in comparison to pristine 1 and g-C3N4 for MB degradation, which suggests the synergistic effect between 1 and g-C3N4 toward visible-light-driven photocatalytic performance. Meanwhile, the 1/g-C3N4 composite exhibited good reusability and stability in the photocatalytic reaction. Free radical quenching experiments showed that the •O2- radical is the main reactive substance over catalyst 1, while h+, •OH, and •O2- species have synergistic effects over the 1/g-C3N4 composite catalyst in the process of photodegradation.

Abstract
Being one of the foremost enticing and intriguing innovations, heterogeneous photocatalysis has also been used to effectively gather, transform, and conserve sustainable sun's radiation for the production of efficient and clean fossil energy as well as a wide range of ecological implications. The generation of solar fuel-based water splitting and CO2 photoreduction is excellent for generating alternative resources and reducing global warming. Developing an inexpensive photocatalyst can effectively split water into hydrogen (H2 ), oxygen (O2 ) sources, and carbon dioxide (CO2 ) into fuel sources, which is a crucial problem in photocatalysis. The metal-free g-C3 N4 photocatalyst has a high solar fuel generation potential. This review covers the most recent advancements in g-C3 N4 preparation, including innovative design concepts and new synthesis methods, and novel ideas for expanding the light absorption of pure g-C3 N4 for photocatalytic application. Similarly, the main issue concerning research and prospects in photocatalysts based g-C3 N4 was also discussed. The current dissertation provides an overview of comprehensive understanding of the exploitation of the extraordinary systemic and characteristics, as well as the fabrication processes and uses of g-C3 N4 .

Abstract
Water was the source of life, in order to solve the serious water pollution problem facing the world, researchers have proposed many solutions. Among them, photoelectric catalytic technology based on semiconductor materials was an ideal and sustainable solution. Herein, by combining successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction (SILAR) with sol-gel electrospinning two strategies, a novel S-scheme heterojunction based on flexible and hierarchical BiOI/TiO2 nanofibrous membranes (BiOI/TiO2 NFM) was fabricated. The degradation rates of tetracycline (TC) and Rhodamine B (RHB) were 98.7% and 95.6%, respectively, under visible light irradiation. The main reason, except for the benefits offered by the hierarchical nanofiber structure, such as the large surface area, tightly connected interfaces and more exposed active sites, other advantages derived from photogenerated carrier transfer and superior redox ability were also momentous. To reveal the formed S-scheme heterojunction, a variety of test methods were used to characterize and test. These studies showed a significant increase in charge separation efficiency in the BiOI/TiO2 NFM, and the charge transport of S-scheme heterojunction was demonstrated. This study may offer new design ideas for the design and construction of novel structures of S-scheme heterojunctions.
