Abstract
The concurrent utilization of an adsorbent and absorbent for carbon dioxide (CO2) adsorption with synergistic effects presents a promising technique for CO2 capture. Here, 1-butyl-3-methylimidazole acetate ([Bmim][Ac]), with a high affinity for CO2, and the molecular sieve SAPO-34 were selected. The impregnation method was used to composite the hybrid samples of [Bmim][Ac]/SAPO-34, and the pore structure and surface property of prepared samples were characterized. The quantity and kinetics of the sorbed CO2 for loaded samples were measured using thermogravimetric analysis. The study revealed that SAPO-34 could retain its pristine structure after [Bmim][Ac] loading. The CO2 uptake of the loaded sample was 1.879 mmol g-1 at 303 K and 1 bar, exhibiting a 20.6% rise compared to that of the pristine SAPO-34 recording 1.558 mmol g-1. The CO2 uptake kinetics of the loaded samples were also accelerated, and the apparent mass transfer resistance for CO2 sorption was significantly reduced by 11.2% compared with that of the pure [Bmim][Ac]. The differential scanning calorimetry method revealed that the loaded sample had a lower CO2 desorption heat than that of the pure [Bmim][Ac], and the CO2 desorption heat of the loaded samples was between 30.6 and 40.8 kJ mol-1. The samples exhibited good cyclic stability. This material displays great potential for CO2 capture applications, facilitating the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

Abstract
Nanomaterials-based gas sensors are widely applied for the monitoring and fast detection of hazardous gases owing to their sensitivity and selectivity. Hydrogen sulfide (H2S), hydrogen fluoride (HF), ammonia (NH3), and carbon monoxide/dioxide (CO/CO2) produced from petroleum fields, sewage, mines, and gasoline are harmful for both human life and environment. With an increase in the emission of these toxic compounds, their real-time monitoring and efficient adsorbent application and storage are very necessary. To this end, we investigated the adsorption characteristic and sensitivity factor of these five toxic gases on armchair and zigzag hybrid boron-carbon-nitride (BCN) nanoribbons with/without boron-rich (B-rich) defects using first principle calculation, where 25%, 33%, and 50% carbon concentration were considered. Our findings reveal that B-rich nanoribbons have strong adsorption energy, charge transfer, and structural deformation owing to the double acceptor of B-rich defects. Moreover, the zigzag and armchair forms of these hybrid BCN nanoribbons show physical adsorption, altering their band gap and phase transition after adsorbing these toxic gases, where B-rich nanoribbons possess high sensitivity to NH3 and CO among other gases. Furthermore, B-rich hybrid nanoribbons have higher CO2 adsorption energy than the standard free energy of CO2 at room temperature. This study suggests that hybrid BCN nanoribbons and B-rich defected structures can be good candidates for the uptake and storage of toxic gases, helping experimental groups to design efficient ambient gas sensors.

Abstract
Cation-free zirconosilicate zeolite CHA and thin zirconia-supported membranes were in situ synthesized in a fluoride-free gel for the first time. The usage of the ZrO2/Al2O3 composite support inhibited the transportation of aluminum from the support into zeolite membranes. No fluorite source was used for the synthesis of cation-free zeolite CHA membranes, indicating the green property of the synthesis. The thickness of the membrane was only 1.0 μm. The best cation-free zeolite CHA membrane prepared by the green in situ synthesis displayed a high CO2 permeance of 1.1 × 10-6 mol/(m2 s Pa) and CO2/CH4 selectivity of 79 at 298 K and 0.2 MPa pressure drop for an equimolar CO2/CH4 mixture.

Abstract
Among several known zeolites, silicoaluminophosphate (SAPO)-34 zeolite exhibits a distinct chemical structure, unique pore size distribution, and chemical, thermal, and ion exchange capabilities, which have recently attracted considerable research attention. Global carbon dioxide (CO2 ) emissions are a serious environmental issue. Current atmospheric CO2 level exceeds 414 parts per million (ppm), which greatly influences humans, fauna, flora, and the ecosystem as a whole. Zeolites play a vital role in CO2 removal, recycling, and utilization. This review summarizes the properties of the SAPO-34 zeolite and its role in CO2 capture and separation from air and natural gas. In addition, due to their high thermal stability and catalytic nature, CO2 conversions into valuable products over single metal, bi-metallic, and tri-metallic catalysts and their oxides supported on SAPO-34 were also summarized. Considering these accomplishments, substantial problems related to SAPO-34 are discussed, and future recommendations are offered in detail to predict how SAPO-34 could be employed for greenhouse gas mitigation.

Abstract
To predict CO2 adsorptive capture, as a vital environmental issue, using different zeolites including 5A, 13X, T-Type, SSZ-13, and SAPO-34, different models have been developed by implementing artificial intelligence algorithms. Hybrid adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (Hybrid-ANFIS), particle swarm optimization-adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (PSO-ANFIS) and the least-squares support vector machine (LSSVM) modeling optimized with the coupled simulated annealing (CSA) optimization have been employed for the models. The developed models, validated by utilizing various graphical and statistical methods exhibited that the Hybrid-ANFIS model estimations for the gas adsorption on 5A, T-Type, SSZ-13, and SAPO-34 zeolites with average absolute relative deviation (AARD) % of 8.21, 1.92, 4.99 and 2.26, and PSO ANFIS model estimations for the gas adsorption on zeolite 13X with an AARD of 4.85% were in good agreement with corresponding experimental data. It could be deduced that the proposed models were more prosperous and efficient in favor of the design and analysis of adsorption processes than previous ones.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of the addition of lignin as a sacrificial agent in ZSM-5 zeolite synthesis. Peculiar growths of ZSM-5 crystals leading to various textural properties were observed. Hence, the behavior in acid-catalyzed conversion of methanol into hydrocarbons (MTH) shifted from high selectivity toward olefins (>55%) to the sole formation of dimethyl ether (DME). Lignin acted as a bio-sourced secondary template (BSST), impacting the zeolite crystals’ shape and, thus, their physicochemical properties.

Abstract
Functional nanoporous materials are widely explored for CO2 separation, in particular, small-pore aluminosilicate zeolites having a "trapdoor" effect. Such an effect allows the specific adsorbate to push away the sited cations inside the window followed by exclusive admission to the zeolite pores, which is more advantageous for highly selective CO2 separation. Herein, we demonstrated that the protonated organic structure-directing agent in the small-pore silicoaluminophosphate (SAPO) RHO zeolite can be directly exchanged with Na+, K+, or Cs+ and that the Na+ form of SAPO-RHO exhibited unprecedented separation for CO2/CH4, superior to all of the nanoporous materials reported to date. Rietveld refinement revealed that Na+ is sited in the center of the single eight-membered ring (s8r), while K+ and Cs+ are sited in the center of the double 8-rings (d8rs). Theoretical calculations showed that the interaction between Na+ and the s8r in SAPO-RHO was stronger than that in aluminosilicate RHO, giving an enhanced "trapdoor" effect and record high selectivity for CO2 with the separation factor of 2196 for CO2/CH4 (0.02/0.98 bar). The separation factor of Na-SAPO-RHO for CO2/N2 was 196, which was the top level among zeolitic materials. This work opens a new avenue for gas separation by using diverse silicoaluminophosphate zeolites in terms of the cation-tailored "trapdoor" effect.

Abstract
In this study, we describe the adsorption behavior of water (H2O) in the interstitial space of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs). A highly dense SWCNT (HD-SWCNT) film with a remarkably enhanced interstitial space was fabricated through mild HNO3/H2SO4 treatment. The N2, CO2, and H2 adsorption isotherm results indicated remarkably developed micropore volumes (from 0.10 to 0.40 mL g-1) and narrower micropore widths (from 1.5 to 0.9 nm) following mild HNO3/H2SO4 treatment, suggesting that the interstitial space was increased from the initial densely-packed network assembly structure of the SWCNTs. The H2O adsorption isotherm of the HD-SWCNT film at 303 K showed an increase in H2O adsorption (i.e., by ∼170%), which increased rapidly from the critical value of relative pressure (i.e., 0.3). Despite the remarkably enhanced adsorption capacity of H2O, the rates of H2O adsorption and desorption in the interstitial space did not change. This result shows an adsorption behavior different from that of the fast transport of H2O molecules in the internal space of the SWCNTs. In addition, the adsorption capacities of N2, CO2, H2, and H2O molecules in the interstitial space of the HD-SWCNT film showed a linear relationship with the kinetic diameter, indicating an adsorption behavior that is highly dependent on the kinetic diameter.

Abstract
Microporous SAPO-35 molecular sieves (Levyne type) were synthesized in non-aqueous media by using different inorganic promoters (HClO4 -, HF, H3PO4, and NaNO3) to enhance the rate of crystallization, and the as-synthesized materials were characterized by using different methods such as powder X-ray diffraction spectroscopy (PXRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), magic angle spinning-nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MAS-NMR), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) analysis, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). From PXRD patterns, it was found that all the materials have a highly crystalline nature without any other impurities. SEM images reveal rhombohedral particles in all synthesis conditions. The framework structure of the synthesized materials was identified by FT-IR spectroscopy, and it reveals that all materials gave a similar framework structure. From BET and XPS, we have confirmed that the pore size and pore diameters along with the elemental compositions have a minor change. The 27Al, 31P, and 29Si MAS-NMR spectra of all the promoter-based SAPO-35 materials are close to those of the standard SAPO-35 material. All the above characterization studies reveal the formation of SAPO-35 in a short time with promoters. The catalytic application studies of these synthesized materials for a methanol-to-olefin conversion reaction were performed, and the efficiency of these materials was found to be similar to that of standard materials.

Abstract
Separation of CO2 from CH4 and N2 is of great significance from the perspectives of energy production and environment protection. In this work, we report the rational synthesis of chabazite (CHA) zeolites with controlled Si/Al ratio by using N,N,N-trimethyl-1-adamantammonium hydroxide (TMAdaOH) as an organic structure-directing agent, wherein the dependence of TMAdaOH consumption on the initial Si/Al ratio was investigated systematically. More TMAdaOH is required to direct the crystallization of CHA with higher Si/Al ratio. Once the product Si/Al ratio is larger than 24, the amount of TMAdaOH consumption remains nearly constant. CHA zeolites with different Si/Al ratios and charge-compensating cations were then applied for the separation of CO2 /CH4 /N2 mixtures. The equilibrium selectivities predicted by ideal adsorbed solution theory (IAST) and ideal selectivities calculated from the ratio of Henry's constants for both CO2 /CH4 and CO2 /N2 decrease with the zeolite Si/Al ratio increasing, whereas the percentage regenerability of CO2 presents the opposite trend. Therefore, there is a trade-off between adsorption selectivity and regenerability for the adsorbents. There is a weaker interaction between CO2 molecules and the H-type zeolites than that on the Na-type ones, thus a higher regenerability can be achieved. This study indicates that it is possible to design CHA zeolites with different physicochemical properties to meet various adsorptive separation requirements.

Abstract
Alkali-exchanged SSZ-13 adsorbents were investigated for their applicability in separating N2 from CO2 in flue gas streams using a dynamic breakthrough method. In contrast to IAST calculations based on equilibrium isotherms, K+ exchanged SSZ-13 was found to yield the best N2 productivity, comparable to Ni-MOF-74, under dynamic conditions where diffusion properties play a significant role. This was attributed to the selective, partial blockage of access to the chabazite cavities, enhancing the separation potential in a 15/85 CO2/N2 binary gas mixture.
