Abstract
Developing low-cost and multifunctional adsorbents for adsorption separation to obtain high-purity (>99.9%) gases is intriguing yet challenging. Notably, the ongoing trade-off between adsorption capacity and selectivity in separating multicomponent mixed gases still persists as a pressing scientific challenge requiring urgent attention. Herein, the ultrastable TJT-100 exhibits unique structural characteristics including uncoordinated carboxylate oxygen atoms, coordinated water molecules directed toward the pore surface, and sufficient Me2NH2+ cations in channels. TJT-100 exhibits a high adsorption capacity and exceptional separation performance, particularly notable for its high C2H2 capacity of 127.7 cm3/g and remarkable C2H2 selectivity over CO2 (5.4) and CH4 (19.8), which makes it a standout material for various separation applications. In a breakthrough experiment with a C2H2/CO2 mixture (v/v = 50/50), TJT-100 achieved a record-high C2H2 productivity of 69.33 L/kg with a purity of 99.9%. Additionally, TJT-100 demonstrates its effectiveness in separating CO2 from natural gas and flue gas. Its exceptional selectivity for CO2/CH4 (10.7) and CO2/N2 (11.9) results in a high CO2 productivity of 21.23 and 22.93 L/kg with 99.9% purity from CO2/CH4 (v/v = 50/50) and CO2/N2 (v/v = 15/85) mixtures, respectively.

Abstract
Herein, a novel luminescent Zn-LMOF, JLU-MOF109 ([Zn(PBBA)(H2O)]·3DMF·2H2O, PBBA = 4,4'-(2,6-pyrazinediyl)bis[benzoic acid], DMF = N,N-dimethylformamide), was successfully synthesized under solvothermal conditions. Zinc ions are connected by PBBA ligands to form two-dimensional (2D) layers, and the layers are further propped up through hydrogen-bonding interactions. JLU-MOF109 exhibits good sensitivity to inorganic pollutants, Fe3+ and Cr2O72-, as well as nitro aromatic explosives, 2,4,6-trinitrophenol and 2,4-dinitrophenol. JLU-MOF109 exhibits high Ksv (at 104 M-1 level) and low limit of detection values (∼10-6 mol/L) for the abovementioned hazardous pollutants, which is better than a majority of previously reported MOF-based fluorescent sensors. With good stability in the aqueous phase, JLU-MOF109 can serve as a promising chemical sensor for pollutant detection in wastewater.

Abstract
Removal of CO2 or C2H4 from C2H2 is still a challenging task due to their similar physical-chemical properties. Here, a bifunctional ligand decorated with amino and sulfoxide groups, 5',5''''-sulfonylbis (2'-amino-[1,1':3',1''-terphenyl]-4,4''-dicarboxylic acid) (H4L), was employed to construct a new microporous iron-organic framework (Fe-MOF) with the formula [(Fe3O)(L)1.5(H2O)3]n. This MOF can serve as a parent structure to obtain the isostructural Cr-MOF by solvent-assisted metal metathesis. Furthermore, the gas adsorption and separation performance of these two MOFs were systematically investigated. Compared to Fe-MOF, Cr-MOF shows a moderately higher CO2, C2H2 and C2H4 uptake capacity. Additionally, Cr-MOF can selectively adsorb C2H2 over CO2 and C2H4. The separation potential towards C2H2/C2H4 and C2H2/CO2 was further established via IAST calculations of mixture adsorption equilibrium. IAST selectivity values of Cr-MOF are 3.4 for C2H2/C2H4 and 6.9 for C2H2/CO2 at 298 K and initial pressure, indicating its potential C2H2 separation ability.

Abstract
Several new isostructural lanthanide metal-organic frameworks (Ln-MOFs), {[Ln2(L)3DMA4]·2DMA}n (1-Ln, where Ln = Eu, Tb, or EuxTb1-x), were first constructed via the solvothermal reactions of 4,6-di(4-carboxyphenyl)pyrimidine and Ln3+ ions. 1-Ln exhibits a 4-connected two-dimensional framework endowed with uncoordinated Lewis base sites. An exploration of luminescence sensing demonstrated 1-Eu can be used for the selectivity detection of dimetridazole and metronidazole antibiotics in other antibiotics, blood plasma, and urine, acting as an exceptional recyclable luminescent probe. More importantly, the luminescent inks of 1-Ln are invisible, color adjustable, and stabilized, which may greatly improve their anticounterfeiting applications.

Abstract
The postsynthetic oxidation (PSO) of metal nodes in metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) has received widespread attention because PSO can significantly improve the performance of materials without changing the framework. This study investigates the influence of PSO on the proton conductivity of MOFs. The PSO product {[FeIII3L2(H2O)6]•3(OH)}n (2) is obtained by oxidizing {[FeII3L2(H2O)6]•3H2O}n (1) with Cu(NO3)2. At 98% RH and 70 °C, the proton conductivity of 2 is 66 times higher than that of 1, indicating that PSO can promote proton conduction. In the PSO process, metal ions shuttle in the MOF framework to functionalize the pores, and the change in the guest molecule forms more host-guest collaborative hydrogen bonds. All of these have made a significant contribution to proton conduction. Because 2 exhibits high proton conductivity (2.66 × 10-4 S·cm-1) at 98% RH and 80 °C, we doped 2 into a highly economical poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF)/polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) substrate to make a hybrid membrane. The resulting hybrid membrane exhibits a high proton conductivity of 1.77 × 10-3 S·cm-1 at 98% RH and 80 °C, which is 4 times higher than the proton conductivity of the PVDF/PVP membrane and 6.6 times higher than that of 2.

Abstract
Crystal engineering, the field of chemistry that studies the design, properties, and applications of crystals, is exemplified by the emergence over the past thirty years of porous coordination networks (PCNs), including metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and hybrid coordination networks (HCNs). PCNs have now come of age thanks to their amenability to design from first principles and how this in turn can result in new materials with task-specific features. Herein, we focus upon how control over the pore chemistry and pore size of PCNs has been leveraged to create a new generation of physisorbents for efficient purification of light hydrocarbons (LHs). The impetus for this research comes from the need to address LH purification processes based upon cryogenic separation, distillation, chemisorption or solvent extraction, each of which is energy intensive. Adsorptive separation by physisorbents (in general) and PCNs (in particular) can offer two advantages over these existing approaches: improved energy efficiency; lower plant size/cost. Unfortunately, most existing physisorbents suffer from low uptake and/or poor sorbate selectivity and are therefore unsuitable for trace separations of LHs including the high volume C2 LHs (C2Hx, x = 2, 4, 6). This situation is rapidly changing thanks to PCN sorbents that have set new performance benchmarks for several C2 separations. Herein, we review and analyse PCN sorbents with respect to the supramolecular chemistry of sorbent-sorbate binding and detail the crystal engineering approaches that have enabled the exquisite control over pore size and pore chemistry that affords highly selective binding sites. Whereas the structure-function relationships that have emerged offer important design principles, several development roadblocks remain to be overcome.

Abstract
Separation of C2H4 from C2H4/C2H2/C2H6 mixture with high working capacity is still a challenging task. Herein, we deliberately design a Th-metal-organic framework (MOF) for highly efficient separation of C2H4 from a binary C2H6/C2H4 and ternary C2H4/C2H2/C2H6 mixture. The synthesized MOF Azole-Th-1 shows a UiO-66-type structure with fcu topology built on a Th6 secondary building unit and a tetrazole-based linker. Such noticeable structure, is connected by a N,O-donor ligand with high chemical stability. At 100 kPa and 298 K Azole-Th-1 performs excellent separation of C2H4 (purity > 99.9%) from not only a binary C2H6/C2H4 (1:9, v/v) mixture but also a ternary mixture of C2H6/C2H2/C2H4 (9:1:90, v/v/v), and the corresponding working capacity can reach up to 1.13 and 1.34 mmol g-1, respectively. The separation mechanism, as unveiled by the density functional theory calculation, is due to a stronger van der Waals interaction between ethane and the MOF skeleton.

Abstract
The understanding of crystal stepwise transformation is very important to enclose the "black box" in the preparation of crystal materials. In this work, different structural intermediates were isolated prior to the formation of the final alkali earth coordination polymers (CPs) during the preparation of three pairs of alkali earth CPs through solvothermal method and convenient oil-bath reactions. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis demonstrated the structural transformation from a 0 D to 1 D inorganic connectivity for the Ca-CPs and Sr-CPs, but a 1 D to 0 D inorganic connectivity for Ba-CPs, involving the breakage/formation of chemical bonds in the reaction solutions. Further analyses indicated that these two different structural transformation pathways are determined by the deprotonation of organic acid, competitive balance between the inorganic and organic connectivity, and the twist of the linker. FT-IR spectra, thermogravimetric and luminescence behaviors agree with their structural characteristics.

Abstract
Stationary phases with mixed-mode mechanisms have emerged as a hot research topic. In the present research, monodisperse core-shell UiO-67@SiO2 materials were prepared and further served as the packed column for mixed-mode hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography/reversed-phase liquid chromatography. The developed UiO-67@SiO2 materials were characterized via thermogravimetric analysis, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray Powder diffraction, and Fourier transform infrared techniques. The developed UiO-67@SiO2 column shows flexible selectivity for separation of both hydrophobic (anilines, alkylbenzenes, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) and hydrophilic (thioureas) compounds. Furthermore, the UiO-67@SiO2 column was also utilized to characterize potential pollutants in lake water samples. In summary, the UiO-67@SiO2 column provided flexible selectivity and wide-range retention behaviors for both hydrophilic and hydrophobic analytes.

Abstract
The ligand truncation strategy provides facile access to a wide variety of linkers for the construction of MOFs bearing diverse structures and intriguing properties. In this work, we employed this strategy to design and prepare a novel bent diisophthalate ligand, and used it to successfully construct a copper-based MOF ZJNU-51 with the formula of [Cu2L(H2O)2]·5DMF (H4L = 5,5'-(triphenylamine-4,4'-diyl) diisophthalic acid), which was thoroughly characterized by various techniques including FTIR, TGA, PXRD and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. ZJNU-51 is a two-fold interpenetrated network in which the single network consists of dicopper paddlewheel units connected by the organic ligands and contains open channels as well as six distinct types of metal-organic cages. Furthermore, gas adsorption properties with respect to C2H2, CO2, and CH4 were systematically investigated, demonstrating that ZJNU-51 is a highly promising material for C2H2/CH4 and CO2/CH4 separations. Specifically, the IAST adsorption selectivity at 298 K and 1 atm reaches 35.6 and 5.4 for the equimolar C2H2/CH4 and CO2/CH4 gas mixtures, respectively. More significantly, as revealed by PXRD and N2 adsorption measurements, ZJNU-51 exhibits excellent chemical stability, which lays a good foundation for its practical application.

Abstract
Porous metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), also known as porous coordination polymers, represent a new class of porous materials, and one of their striking features lies in their tunable, designable, and functionalizable nanospace. This nanospace within MOFs provides virtually plenty of room for imagination, allowing designed incorporation of different size, shape, and functionalities for targeted gas storage and separation applications. Furthermore, the features of high porosities, tunable framework structures and pore sizes, and immobilized functional sites enable MOF materials to fully make use of their nanopore space for gas storage, to optimize their sieving effects, and to differentiate their interactions with gas molecules for gas separation. In this review article, we highlight some recent significant advances in developing microporous MOFs for some of the most important gas storage and separation applications.

Abstract
This work develops a highly efficient metal–organic framework (MOF) catalyst for the straightforward synthesis of functionalized benzenes via [2 + 2 + 2] cycloaddition. As efficient cooperative catalyst for such reactions, Co-MOF-1, shows great sustainability and efficiency. This new catalytic system can lead to the generation of a series of structurally diverse benzenes in good to excellent yields (up to 95%). Heterogenous catalysis of [2 + 2 + 2] cycloaddition was firstly achieved by a low-cost, air-stable and reusable Co-MOF catalyst, affording structurally diverse functionalized benzenes under mild conditions with high efficiency and selectivity.![]()
