Abstract
The study disclosed that the reactivities of [RuII (PPh3)3Cl2] and [RuII(PPh3)3(CO)(H)Cl] precursors toward a trimethoxyarylimino-phenol derivative are sensibly different. The former promotes methoxy demethylation reaction affording a [Phenolato-RuIII-Phenolato] unit, while the latter containing π-acidic CO and hydride as coligands leads to C-H activation reaction, generating a [Phenolato-RuII-Aryl] unit. Notably, the oxidized analogues of these two forms produce antiferromagnetically coupled [RuIII-phenoxyl] and paramagnetic [RuII-phenoxyl] forms, which exhibit diverse reactivities. Surprisingly, the magnetically coupled [RuIII-phenoxyl] form obtained from [Phenolato-RuIII-Phenolato] motif leads to coligand, PPh3 oxidation and undergoes dimerization, making a Ru-Ru bond (2.599(2) Å), while the [RuII-phenoxyl] form obtained from [Phenolato-RuII-Aryl] motif leads to C-C coupling and H abstraction reactions. The coupling reaction affords a 4,4'-dibenzosemiquinonate anion radical complex, but the H-abstraction of the phenoxyl form gives a [RuII-Phenol] complex. For comparison, [RuII(IQR 0)] and [RuII(ISQR·-)] complexes were also isolated, where IQR 0 and ISQR·- are p-R-o-iminobenzoquinone and p-R-o-iminobenzosemiquinonate anion radicals. However, they fail to promote any bond-formation reaction. The molecular and electronic structures of the ruthenium (II/III) complexes were confirmed by single-crystal X-ray crystallography, EPR spectroscopy, and DFT calculations.

Abstract
A series of boron, aluminum, gallium, and indium chelates containing the underexplored bis(phenolate) aza-dipyrromethene (aza-DIPY) core were prepared. These compounds were found to possess near-infrared absorption and emission profiles in the 710 to 770 nm domain and exhibit quantum yield values up to 14%. X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that heavier group 13 bis(phenolate) aza-DIPY chelates possessed octahedral geometries with either THF or pyridine groups occupying the axial positions as opposed to the tetrahedral geometry of the boron chelate.

Abstract
The coordination chemistry of the N-heterocyclic carbene ligand IMes(NMe2)2, derived from the well-known IMes ligand by substitution of the carbenic heterocycle with two dimethylamino groups, was investigated with d6 [Mn(I), Fe(II)], d8 [Rh(I)], and d10 [Cu(I)] transition-metal centers. The redox behavior of the resulting organometallic complexes was studied through a combined experimental/theoretical study, involving electrochemistry, EPR spectroscopy, and DFT calculations. While the complexes [CuCl(IMes(NMe2)2)], [RhCl(COD)(IMes(NMe2)2)], and [FeCp(CO)2 (IMes(NMe2)2)](BF4) exhibit two oxidation waves, the first oxidation wave is fully reversible but only for the first complex the second oxidation wave is reversible. The mono-oxidation event for these complexes occurs on the NHC ligand, with a spin density mainly located on the diaminoethylene NHC-backbone, and has a dramatic effect on the donating properties of the NHC ligand. Conversely, as the Mn(I) center in the complex [MnCp(CO)2 ((IMes(NMe2)2)] is easily oxidizable, the latter complex is first oxidized on the metal center to form the corresponding cationic Mn(II) complex, and the NHC ligand is oxidized in a second reversible oxidation wave.

Abstract
We report the synthesis, characterization, and reactivities of two stable NiIII N-confused porphyrin (NCP) complexes. Metalation of 3-OEt NCP 1 with NiCl2 ⋅ 6H2 O in CHCl3 /EtOH gave 3-OEt NiII NCP 3 initially, which was easily oxidized in air to form the NiIII complex of NCP inner C-oxide 4. Bis-ethoxy-modified NiIII complex 5 was synthesized by oxidation of 3 with PIFA in ethanol and CHCl3 . The structures of 4 and 5 were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. An unusually long NiIII -C bond (2.170(9) Å) was observed in 4. The g-factor (g>2.1) observed in the EPR spectra of 4 and 5 further confirmed that they are paramagnetic NiIII complexes. Comparative experiments showed that the 3-ethoxy group plays an important role in the formation of 4 and 5. Reduction of 4 and 5 with NaBH4 regenerated complex 3.

Abstract
Aerobic reaction between [RuII(DMSO)4Cl2], a redox-active 2-aminophenol-based ligand (H2L1: 2-[2-(benzylthio)phenylamino]-4,6-di-tert-butylphenol) and Et3N in MeOH under refluxing conditions afforded a purple complex [Ru(L1)2] (S = 0). Structural analysis reveals that the tridentate ligand coordinates in a mer conformation providing a distorted octahedral RuN2O2S2 coordination. Cyclic voltammetry on 1 in CH2Cl2 reveals the accessability of the monocation, dication and monoanion forms. Reddish purple monocation [Ru(L1)2](PF6)·CH2Cl2 ([1OX1](PF6)·CH2Cl2; S = 1/2) and green dication [Ru(L1)2](BF4)2·H2O ([1OX2](BF4)2·H2O; S = 0) have been isolated through the chemical oxidation of 1 in CH2Cl2 by [FeIII(η5-C5H5)2](PF6) and AgBF4, respectively. A structural analysis of the single crystals of the monocation and the dication with the compositions [1OX1](PF6)·CH2Cl2·H2O (2) and [1OX2](BF4)2·1.7H2O (3), respectively, has been done. Metrical (metal-ligand and ligand backbone) parameters, values of metrical oxidation states of coordinated ligands, 1H NMR spectra of 1 and [1OX2](BF4)2·H2O, EPR spectra of [1OX1](PF6)·CH2Cl2, X-ray photoelectron and UV-VIS-NIR spectra of 1-3, spin population analysis from broken-symmetry (BS) density functional theory (DFT) calculations and quasi-restricted orbital (QRO) analysis have allowed us to assign the electronic structure of the complexes. The complexes exhibit highly covalent metal-ligand interactions. The electronic states of 1, [1OX1]1+ and [1OX2]2+ are best described as [RuII{(LISQ)˙-}2] ↔ [RuIII{(LAP)2-}{(LISQ)˙-}] (S = 0), [RuIII{(LISQ)˙-}2]1+ (S = 1/2) and [RuII{(LIBQ)0}2]2+ ↔ [RuIII{(LISQ)˙-}{(LIBQ)0}]2+ (S = 0), respectively. Notably, all redox processes are ligand-centred. Absorption spectral properties have been rationalized based on time-dependent (TD)-DFT calculations. For 1, the appearance of an IVCT band at 1100 nm supports its Class II-III (borderline) ligand-based mixed-valence character.
