Abstract
An efficient enantioselective [3+2] cycloaddition of isomünchnones with methyleneindolinones that are generated by an in situ intramolecular addition of the carbonyl group to rhodium carbenes is realized with a chiral N,N'-dioxide/Zn(II) complex as a Lewis acid. A series of chiral oxa-bridged 3-spiropiperidines are obtained in high yields with excellent dr and excellent ee values.

Abstract
Chiral Lewis acid-catalyzed asymmetric alcohol addition reactions to cyclic carbonyl ylides generated from N-(α-diazocarbonyl)-2-oxazolidinones featuring a dual catalytic system are reported. Construction of a chiral quaternary heteroatom-substituted carbon center was accomplished in which the unique heterobicycles were obtained in good yields with high stereoselection. The alcohol adducts were successfully converted to optically active oxazolidine-2,4-diones by hydrolysis. Mechanistic studies by DFT calculations revealed that alcohols could be activated by Lewis acids, enabling enantioselective protonation of the carbonyl ylides.

Abstract
Starting from readily available o-diazoacyl-substituted arene carboxylates, scaffolds with the 5,9-epoxycyclohepta[b]pyran-2(3H)-one core were obtained by cooperative RhII , Lewis and Brønsted acid catalysis. Four new bonds, three functional groups (lactone, ketal, and alcohol) and four contiguous stereocenters are formed during this regio- and diastereoselective process in a single synthetic step. Intensive optimization and mechanistic studies, including the trapping, isolation, and elucidation of reaction intermediates, led to a plausible mechanistic scenario. The reaction is proposed to involve carbonyl ylides but also transient species of the ketocarbene equilibrium that undergo a cascade of cycloaddition and skeletal rearrangements.

Abstract
The concept of green chemistry began in the USA in the 1990s. Since the publication of the 12 principles of this concept, many reactions in organic chemistry have been developed, and chemical products have been synthesized under environmentally friendly conditions. Lewis acid mediated synthetic transformations are by far the most numerous and best studied. However, the use of certain Lewis acids may cause risks to environmental and human health. This Review discusses the evolution of Lewis acid catalyzed reactions from a homogeneous liquid phase to the solid phase to yield the expected organic molecules under green, safe conditions. In particular, recent developments and applications of biosourced catalysts from plants are highlighted.

Abstract
A dirhodium(II)-catalyzed annulation reaction between two structurally different diazocarbonyl compounds furnishes the donor-acceptor cyclopropane-fused benzoxa[3.2.1]octane scaffold with excellent chemo-, regio-, and diastereoselectivity under exceptionally mild conditions. The composite transformation occurs by [3+2]-cycloaddition between donor-acceptor cyclopropenes generated from enoldiazoacetamides and carbonyl ylides formed from intramolecular carbene-carbonyl cyclization in one pot with one catalyst. The annulation products can be readily transformed into benzoxa[3.3.1]nonane and hexahydronaphthofuran derivatives with exact stereocontrol. This method allows the efficient construction of three fused and bridged ring systems, all of which are important skeletons of numerous biologically active natural products.
