Abstract
Polarity is a complex parameter, with important effect in chemistry and biology. In recent years, polarity exploration attracted more and more attention hence, it's of great importance to exploit new methods for polarity determination. A novel class of long, coplanar, and amine incorporated electron-rich quinoxaline scaffold(L1) furnished maximum solvatochromic effect and large Stokes shift and was chosen to determine water content in organic solvents e.g. acetonitrile, THF, DMF, and methanol through fluorescence spectroscopy. Moreover, the probe was found to perform as an effective fluorescent sensor for the quantitative detection of low-level moisture content in four commonly-used organic solvents with low detection limits (0.018%, 0.027%, 0.012%, and 0.43% respectively). This study also describes the morphological transformation of L1 form a fibrous network to spherical aggregates upon increasing water content in several organic solvents. Real-life implementation of the probe was successfully employed for the detection of moisture content in commercial food products and building materials such as cement, sand, limestone, salt, wheat, and detergent powder. Furthermore, probe L1-immersed easy-to-prepare test strips provide a reliable approach for qualitative monitoring of water content in organic solvents by a simple color-changing method under UV irradiation via smartphone-assisted RGB analysis.

Abstract
Herein, we report a facile approach to synthesize a new highly versatile heterogeneous catalyst by spontaneous aerial oxidation based on nickel oxide nanocomposites immobilized on surface-functionalized reduced graphene oxide sheets. NiO nanocomposite/reduced graphene oxide (rGO-NiO-NC) is a highly efficient, cost-effective, reusable, selective, and eco-friendly nano-catalyst that does not lose any activity even after five reaction cycles. Nickel loading on the rGO-NiO nanocomposite was found to be 3.3 at%, which contributes to the effective and efficient use of rGO-NiO-NCs as a nano-catalyst for the synthesis of imidazole derivatives. Consequently, a series of imidazole derivatives were synthesized, catalyzed by rGO-NiO-NCs, in 60 min with high yields (86% to 96%) under green conditions. Furthermore, the present synthetic methodology was used for the synthesis of highly aromatic imidazole derivatives (B1-B3) whose calf thymus-DNA binding affinities suggest their superior inhibition ability to displace ethidium bromide (EB), which was further confirmed by molecular docking studies. Additionally, the green chemistry matrix of the synthesis reaction was found to be very close to ideal values, such as carbon efficiency (82.32%), E-factor (0.51), atom economy (77.86%), process mass intensity (1.51), and reaction mass efficiency (66.14%).

Abstract
Lissodendrin B is a 2-aminoimidazole alkaloid bearing a (p-hydroxyphenyl) glyoxal moiety that was isolated from the Indonesian sponge Lissodendoryx (Acanthodoryx) fibrosa. We reported the first efficient total synthesis of Lissodendrin B. The precursor 4,5-disubstituted imidazole was obtained through Suzuki coupling and Sonogashira coupling reactions from 4-iodoimidazole. C2-azidation and reduction of the azide then provided the core structures of Lissodendrin B. Subsequent triple-bond oxidation, demethylation, and deacetylation gave the final product. The synthesis approach consists of ten steps with an overall yield of 1.1% under mild reaction conditions, and it can be applied for future analog synthesis and biological studies.

Abstract
Intracellular H2O2 monitoring is important and has driven researchers to pursue advancements for the rapid identification of H2O2, since H2O2 is short-lived in cell lines. An arylboronate derivative has been investigated as a chemospecific fluorescence recognition agent for H2O2. Triphenylimidazoleoxadiazolephenyl (TPIOP) boronate was contrived as a novel candidate for the rapid and sensitive recognition of H2O2. The probe was conjugated using the TPIOP functional group acting as an excellent fluorescent enhancer. The TPIOP group stimulated the polarization of C-B bond due to its extended π-conjugation, which included heteroatoms, and induced the production of rapid signal because of the highly polar C-B bond along with the corresponding boronate unit. While H2O2 reacts with TPIOP boronate, its nucleophilic addition to the boron generates a charged tetrahedral boronate complex, and then the C-B bond migrates toward one of the electrophilic peroxide oxygen atoms. The resulting boronate ester is then hydrolyzed by water into a phenol, which significantly enhances fluorescence through aggregation-induced emission. The TPIOP boronate probe responded to H2O2 rapidly, within 2 min, and exhibited high sensitivity with a limit of detection of 8 nM and a 1000-fold selectivity in the presence of other reactive oxygen species. Therefore, the developed TPIOP boronate chemodosimeter was successfully utilized to visualize and quantify intracellular H2O2 from human breast cancer (MCF-7) cells, as well as gaseous and aqueous H2O2 from environmental samples using Whatman paper strips coated with TPIOP boronate.

Abstract
A sequential one-pot approach to 2,4,5-trisubstituted imidazoles has been developed from α-methylene ketones and aldehydes. This methodology employs air-moisture stable reaction conditions and an inexpensive iodine/DMSO system affording a diverse range of known and novel (substrate scope) 2,4,5-trisubstituted imidazoles in moderate to excellent yields. The iodine/DMSO system was extended to the domino convergent synthesis of two functionalized intermediates, benzil and benzaldehyde, to produce the final product.

Abstract
1H-Benzo[d]imidazole (BMA) has been considered as an emerging pharmaceutical organic contaminant, leading to the increasing BMA detection in wastewaters and need to be removed from ecosystem. This study investigated a highly synergistic BMA chemisorption using a novel ternary cross-coupled nanohybrid [γ-APTES]-Fe3O4@PAN@rGO. Magnetic nanoparticles (Fe3O4) were in situ core-shell co-precipitated with polyacrylonitrile polymer (PAN). Then, the prepared Fe3O4@PAN was decorated on hexagonal arrays of reduced graphene oxide (rGO) inside the framework of γ-aminopropyltriethoxysilane ([γ-APTES]). The final nanohybrid [γ-APTES]-Fe3O4@PAN@rGO produced adjacent inter-fringe distances of 0.2-0.4 nm corresponded well to (111), (220), and (311) parallel sub-lattices with two oblique intersections at 90° right angle and 60° triangle. The BMA adsorption was favorable in neutral pH 7, aroused temperature (50 °C), and controlled by endothermic process. The identified maximum adsorption capacity of 221.73 mg g-1 was 30% higher than the reported adsorbents. The adsorption mechanisms include ion exchange, hydrogen bond, dipole-dipole force, π-conjugation, electrostatic, and hydrophobic interaction. Graphical abstract The synthetic route of novel nanohybrid [γ-APTES]-Fe3O4@PAN@rGO was investigated. After BMA adsorption, the adsorbent surface was entirely changed, thus an efficiently facile magnetic separation within 8s. [γ-APTES]-Fe3O4@PAN@rGO formed different oblique intersections of 60° and 90° sub-lattices.
