Abstract
Electrospinning of nanocarbons such as graphene and carbon nanotubes typically produces mats composed of one-dimensional fibers where the carrier polymer encapsulates the nanocarbons. Recently it was found that decreasing the amount of carrier polymer in approaching the electrospinning-electrospray boundary for graphene suspensions resulted in retention of the graphene two-dimensional anisotropy with one-dimensional carrier polymer fibers connecting flakes. We explored a similar decrease in carrier polymer in MWCNT suspensions to investigate the network topology that might ensue. Unexpectedly, two-dimensional leaflet meso-networks were obtained wherein the leaflets comprise laterally aligned MWCNTs one to several nanotubes thick. A mechanism based on capillary force-driven MWCNT self-assembly activated by menisci formed during drying of electrospun fibers is presented. Such materials offer new approaches to producing high surface-area coatings for catalytic and energy applications and suggest ways of formulating two-dimensional MWCNT assemblies in metal foams and other open-cell porous materials.

Investigations on Structural, Electronic and Optical Properties of MoS2/CDs Heterostructure via First-Principles Study. Catalysts 2022. Abstract
Much effort has been made for MoS2/CDs heterostructure application in the field of photocatalysts. However, the impacts of functional groups of CDs on the properties of the heterostructure are ambiguous. Here, the impacts of hydroxyl, carbonyl, and carboxyl groups of CDs on the structural, electronic, and optical properties of MoS2/CDs’ heterostructure were investigated by conducting a first-principles study. The calculated energy band structure and band gap of monolayer MoS2 were consistent with the experimental values. The band gap of MoS2 was obviously decreased after the construction of MoS2/CDs and MoS2/CDs–hydroxyl/carboxyl, thus helping to improve the light adsorption range. However, the band gap of MoS2/CDs–carbonyl was slightly increased compared with that of monolayer MoS2. The CDs with functional groups can spontaneously bind on 2D-MoS2 and form a stable MoS2/CDs heterostructure. It was confirmed that the MoS2/CDs’ heterostructure belongs to the typical type-II band alignment, which contributes to the separation of photogenerated charge and hole. Notably, the carbonyl and carboxyl groups on the CDs obviously reduced the optical absorption intensity of the MoS2/CDs in the ultraviolet region. The hydroxyl groups have little effect on optical absorption intensity. Thus, the CDs with more hydroxyl groups are beneficial to produce a higher photocatalytic performance. This paper reveals the impacts of surface functional groups and provides a promising approach for designing the MoS2/CDs’ heterostructure to enhance the photocatalytic properties.

Abstract
Since the first intercalation of layered silicates by using supercritical CO2 as a processing medium, considerable efforts have been dedicated to intercalating and exfoliating layered two-dimensional (2D) materials in various supercritical fluids (SCFs) to yield single- and few-layer nanosheets. Here, recent work in this area is highlighted. Motivating factors for enhancing exfoliation efficiency and product quality in SCFs, mechanisms for exfoliation and dispersion in SCFs, as well as general metrics applied to assess quality and processability of exfoliated 2D materials are critically discussed. Further, advances in formation and application of 2D material-based composites with assistance from SCFs are presented. These discussions address chemical transformations accompanying SCF processing such as doping, covalent surface modification, and heterostructure formation. Promising features, challenges, and routes to expanding SCF processing techniques are described.

Abstract
Preparation of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) in environmentally friendly water without using any reducing agents under supercritical conditions is demonstrated. PXRD, XPS, FE-SEM and HR-TEM analysis confirmed the formation of phase-pure and crystalline AuNPs of the size of ∼10-30 nm. The catalytic potential of AuNPs was manifested through a generalized green procedure that could accommodate both Sonogashira as well as Suzuki coupling under aqueous conditions at low catalytic loading (0.1 mol%). The AuNP catalyst was found to be recuperated after the reaction and reused for up to six catalytic cycles with no leaching out of gold species as confirmed through ICP-OES analysis. With no confinement of AuNP catalysis to cross-coupling reaction, synthetic extension to one-flask preparation of π-conjugated semiconductors (4 examples) and their optoelectronic properties were also investigated. Other significant features of the present work include short reaction time, site-selectivity, wide substrate scope, high conversion, good chemical yields and applicability in gram-scale synthesis. Overall, the results of this paper signify an operationally sustainable supercritical fluid processing method for the synthesis of AuNPs and their catalytic application towards cross-coupling reactions in green media.

Abstract
In this paper, four composite coatings of nano-SnS/polyvinylbutyral (PVB), nano-MoS2/PVB, nano-SnS-Zn/PVB, and nano-MoS2-Zn/PVB were prepared, and their anti-corrosion mechanism was analyzed by experimental and theoretical calculations. The results of the electrochemical experiments show that the effect of nano-MoS2 on the corrosion protection performance of PVB coating is better than that of nano-SnS in 3% NaCl solution, and that the addition of Zn further enhances this effect, which is consistent with the results of weight loss measurements. Furthermore, the observation of the corrosion matrix by the field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) further confirmed the above conclusion. At last, the molecular dynamics (MD) simulation were carried out to investigate the anti-corrosion mechanism of the nanofillers/PVB composites for the copper surface. The results show that both nano-SnS and nano-MoS2 are adsorbed strongly on the copper surface, and the binding energy of nano-MoS2 is larger than that of nano-SnS.
