Abstract
This work aims to study the interaction between cationic metal complexes (M z +) and gold nanoparticles (AuNPs z- ). The M z + complexes were chosen from previous works described in the literature and were synthesized as defined. For example, they are as follows: 1 = [RuCl(dppb)(bipy)(py)](PF6); 2 = [RuCl(dppb)(bipy)(vpy)](PF6); 3 = [RuCl(dppb)(bipy)(mepy)](PF6); 4 = [RuCl(dppb)(bipy)(tbpy)](PF6); 5 = [RuCl2(dppb)(bipy)](PF6); 6 = [Fe(bipy)3]Cl2; 7 = [Ru(bipy)3](PF6)2; 8 = [TPyP{RuCl(dppb)(bipy)}4](PF6)4; and 9 = [RuCl(p-cymene)(Diipmp)](PF6). The interactions between M z + and AuNPs z- were carried out using conductometry and UV-vis spectroscopy. These experiments allowed determination of kinetic parameters, revealing three different steps in the interaction process: induction time, flocculation, and agglomeration. The self-assembly between M z + and AuNPs z- was investigated using three different models of binding site, namely, Langmuir or direct plot, Benesi-Hildebrand, and Scatchard. These models provide the fraction of total binding sites occupied (θ), the formation constant (K f), which is dependent on the temperature and geometric structure of each group of M z +, and the Gibbs free energy of reaction (ΔG r ), which was negative for each pair of M z + and AuNPs z- , revealing a spontaneous agglomeration process. The Hill coefficient (n) was 1 for almost all complexes, indicating that agglomeration is an independent process, except for 5, where n = 2, suggesting a positive propensity to bind onto the AuNPs z- surface. The models have confirmed a noncovalent interaction between these species. The relative error in site binding does not show any variation with changes in the temperature, but a fine-tuning of the n value to 1.00 was observed with the increase of the temperature. Finally, the reduction reaction of the 4-nitrophenolate anion (4-NP-) by NaBH4 catalyzed by AuNPs z- was used in the presence of M z + as an evaluation test to show how the M z + species will disturb the 4-NP- binding site on the surface of gold nanoparticles.

Abstract
The field of supported catalysis has experienced increased attention with respect to the development of novel architectures for immobilizing catalytic species, aiming to maintain or enhance their activity while facilitating the easy recovery and reuse of the active moiety. Dendrimers have been identified as promising candidates capable of imparting such properties to catalysts through selective functionalization. The present study details the synthesis of two polyphosphorhydrazone (PPH) dendrons, each incorporating azide or acetylene groups at the core for subsequent coupling through "click" triazole chemistry. Employing this methodology, a novel PPH Janus dendrimer was successfully synthesized, featuring ten polyethylene glycol (PEG) chains on one side of the structure and ten Ru(p-cymene) derivatives on the other. This design was intended to confer dual properties, influencing solubility modulation, and allowing the presence of active catalytic moieties. The synthesized dendrimer underwent testing in the isomerization of allyl alcohols in organic solvents and biphasic solvent mixtures. The results demonstrated a positive dendritic effect compared with model monometallic and bimetallic species, providing a proof-of-concept for the first PPH Janus dendrimer with tested applications in catalysis.

Abstract
A novel and unique platform was prepared based on a dendrimer containing thiol groups supported on nanosilica (nSTDP), and ultrafine platinum nanoparticles were synthesized and immobilized on the thiol decorated branches of nSTPD. The new catalyst, (Ptnp@nSTDP), was characterized by different techniques such as FE-SEM, TEM, ICP, XPS and DR UV-vis. This heterogeneous catalyst presented an outstanding performance for the synthesis of benzimidazole and benzothiazole derivatives through a reaction between benzyl alcohol derivatives and 2-aminothiophenol or 1,2-phenylenediamine. No requirement for the pre-reduction of catalysts and using water as a green solvent make it an individual catalyst for these reactions. Furthermore, the catalyst can be easily recovered and reused five consecutive times in the production of benzimidazoles and benzothiazoles without significant leaching of Pt and loss of its activity which illustrated the chemical stability of the catalyst during the reaction.

Abstract
Dendrimers are of great interest due to their special structural topology and chemical versatility. Owing to their properties, dendrimers have found practical applications in catalytic processes as efficient nanoreactors. Therefore, we herein report an environmentally attractive strategy and highly efficient route for the synthesis of a wide variety of diaryl sulfides using palladium nanoparticles immobilized on a nano-silica triazine dendritic polymer (Pdnp-nSTDP) as a nanoreactor. In this manner, different diaryl or aryl heteroaryl sulfides and bis(aryl/heteroarylthio)benzene/anthracene/pyridine derivatives were prepared via C-S cross-coupling reactions of aryl halides with diaryl/diheteroaryl disulfides under thermal conditions and microwave irradiation. The catalyst could be easily recovered and reused several times without any significant loss of its activity.

Abstract
Gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) are of considerable interest for diverse applications in areas such as medicine, catalysis, and sensing. AuNPs are generally surface-stabilized by organic matrices and coatings, and while the resultant organic compound (OC)/AuNP hybrids have been explored extensively, they are not suitable for certain applications (e.g. those necessitating reversible redox behaviour and/or long excited-state lifetimes), and they often suffer from low photo- and/or thermal stability. Transition metal complex (TMC)/AuNP hybrids have recently come to the fore as they circumvent some of the aforementioned shortcomings with OC/AuNP hybrids. This review summarizes progress thus far in the nascent field of TMC/AuNP hybrids. The structure and composition of extant TMC/AuNP hybrids are briefly reviewed and the range of TMCs employed in the shell of the hybrids are summarized, the one-phase, two-phase, and post-nanoparticle-synthesis synthetic methods to TMC/AuNP hybrids are discussed and contrasted, highlighting the advantages of variants of the last-mentioned procedure, and the utility of the various characterization techniques is discussed, emphasizing the need to employ multiple techniques in concert. Applications of TMC/AuNP hybrids in luminescence, electrochemical, and electro-optical sensing are described and critiqued, and their uses and potential in imaging, photo-dynamic therapy, nonlinear optics, and catalysis are assessed.

Abstract
Transition-metal nanoparticles (NPs) catalysts supported on solid material represent one of the most important subjects in organic synthesis due to their reliable carbon-carbon or carbon-heteroatom bond-forming cross-coupling reactions. Therefore methodologically and conceptually novel immobilization methods for nonprecious transition-metal NPs are currently required for the development of organic, inorganic, green, materials, and medicinal chemistry. We discovered a self-assembled Au-supported Pd NPs catalyst (SAPd(0)) and applied it as a catalyst to Suzuki-Miyaura coupling, Buchwald-Hartwig reaction, Carbon(sp2 and sp3)-Hydrogen bond functionalization, double carbonylation, removal of the allyl protecting groups of allyl esters, and redox switching. SAPd(0) comprises approximately 10 layers of self-assembled Pd(0) NPs, whose size is less than 5 nm on the surface of a sulfur-modified Au. The Pd NPs are wrapped in a sulfated p-xylene polymer matrix. We thought that the self-assembled Au-supported Pd NPs could be made by in situ metal NP and nanospace simultaneous organization (PSSO). This methodology involves 4 kinds of simultaneous procedures: i) reduction of a higher valence metal salt, ii) growth of metal NPs with appropriate size, iii) growth of a matrix with appropriate pores, and iv) wrapping of the metal NPs by matrix nanopores. This methodology is different from previously reported metal NPs-immobilizing methods, which use solid supports with preformed pores or coordination sites. We also applied the in situ PSSO method to prepare various immobilized transition-metal NPs, including base metals. For example, the in situ PSSO method can be applicable to easily prepare Ni, Ru, and Fe NPs with good recyclability and low metal leaching for use in organic synthesis.

Abstract
Ruthenium alkynyl "star" complexes with tri(2-thienyl)-, tris(1,2,3-triazolyl)-, or triphenyl-benzene cores stabilize gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). Cyclic voltammetry, transmission electron microscopy, molecular modeling, dynamic light scattering, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy studies are consistent with ca. 5 trithienyl- or triazolyl-benzene-cored star complexes decorating the exterior of each AuNP. The ca. 2.5 nm diameter (by transmission electron microscopy) trithienylbenzene-cored gold nanoparticle hybrids are significantly less absorbent than classical Brust nanoparticles stabilized by 1-dodecanethiol; with femtosecond pulsed radiation, they exhibit exceptionally strong saturable absorption and two-photon absorption across the visible range and into the near-infrared region (3 000 000 GM at 500 nm and 46 000 GM at 750 nm; 1 GM is equal to 10-50 cm4 s photon-1).
