Abstract
An efficient and facile method has been developed for the construction of novel P-S-C and P-Se-C bonds by facilitating the three-component cross-coupling reaction of P-H bonds with elemental sulfur/selenium and vinylsulfonium salts, utilizing sodium bicarbonate as a base. This approach eliminates the need for the use of toxic and odorous active sulfur/selenium reagents and noble metals, thereby offering a new pathway for synthesizing S-phosphinothioates and Se-phosphinoselenoates via the organic conversion of inorganic sources. The reaction has showcased remarkable versatility in terms of substrate applicability, particularly for organophosphorus compounds containing P-H bonds and vinylsulfonium salt derivatives. The resulting phosphinothioation/phosphinoselenoation products can be obtained with high yield and regioselectivity. Additionally, a plausible reaction mechanism for this transformation has been proposed based on step-by-step control experiments and 31P NMR tracking analysis.

Abstract
The use of sulfonium salts in organic synthesis has experienced a dramatic increase during the last years that can arguably be attributed to three main factors; the development of more direct and efficient synthetic methods that make easily available sulfonium reagents of a wide structural variety, their intrinsic thermal stability, which facilitates their structural modification, handling and purification even on large scale, and the recognition that their reactivity resembles that of hypervalent iodine compounds and therefore, they can be used as replacement of such reagents for most of their uses. This renewed interest has led to the improvement of already existing reactions, as well as to the discovery of unprecedented transformations; in particular, by the implementation of photocatalytic protocols. This review aims to summarize the most recent advancements on the area focusing on the work published during and after 2020. The scope of the methods developed will be highlighted and their limitations critically evaluated.

Abstract
The selective installation of fluorine-containing groups into biologically relevant molecules has been used as a common strategy for the development of pharmaceutically active molecules. However, the selective incorporation of gem-difluoromethylene groups next to sterically demanding secondary and tertiary alkyl groups remains a challenge. Herein, we report the first cobalt-catalyzed regioselective difluoroalkylation of carboxylic acid salts. The reaction allows for the facile construction of various difluoroalkylated products in good yields tolerating a wide range of functionalities on either reaction partner. The potential of the method is illustrated by the late-stage functionalization of molecules of biological relevance. Mechanistic studies support the in situ formation of a cobalt(i) species and the intermediacy of difluoroalkyl radicals, thus suggesting a Co(i)/Co(ii)/Co(iii) catalytic cycle.

Abstract
A dithiolation of alkenyl sulfonium salts with arylthiols is described, affording a series of 1,2-dithioalkanes in high yields. This protocol features mild and catalyst-free conditions and involves the formation of two C-S bonds sequentially via the regioselective addition of an arylthiol to the unsaturated C═C bonds, followed by the attack of another arylthiol to form 1,2-dithioalkanes exclusively.

Abstract
Fluorine-containing molecules have attracted much attention in medicinal, agrochemical, and materials sciences because they offer unique physical and biological properties. Therefore, many efficient fluorination reactions have been developed over the years. Recent advancements in fluorination chemistry have expanded the range of substrates, and regioselectivity/stereoselectivity control has also been achieved. Ring-opening fluorination is an efficient method to construct complex fluorine-containing molecules with diversity, starting from simple cyclic compounds. This review aims to summarize developments in ring-opening fluorination, particularly with larger-sized cyclic compounds. Fluorine introduction and bond cleavage of cyclic compounds such as carbocycles, heterocycles, and aromatics provide efficient access to fluorine-containing compounds that are difficult to be synthesized by conventional methods.

Abstract
An unprecedented geminal olefinic dichalcogenation of alkenyl sulfonium salts with dichalcogenides ArYYAr (Y = S, Se, Te) is reported, providing various trisubstituted 1,1-dichalcogenalkenes [Ar1CH = C(YAr2)2] in a highly selective manner under mild and catalyst-free conditions. The key process involves the formation of two geminal olefinic C-Y bonds via sequential C-Y cross-coupling and C-H chalcogenation. A mechanistic rationale is further supported by control experiments and density functional theory calculations.

Abstract
The oxidative aminative vicinal difunctionalization of alkenes or related chemical feedstocks has emerged as sustainable and multipurpose strategies that can efficiently construct two -N bonds, and simultaneously prepare the synthetically fascinating molecules and catalysis in organic synthesis that typically required multi-step reactions. This review summarized the impressive breakthroughs on synthetic methodologies (2015-2022) documented especially over inter/intra-molecular vicinal diamination of alkenes with electron-rich or deficient diverse nitrogen sources. These unprecedented strategies predominantly involved iodine-based reagents/catalysts, which resent the interest of organic chemists due to their impressive role as flexible, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly reagents, resulting in a wide variety of synthetically useful organic molecules. Moreover, the information collected also describes the significant role of catalyst, terminal oxidant, substrate scope, synthetic applications, and their unsuccessful results to highlight the limitations. Special emphasis has been given to proposed mechanistic pathways to determine the key factors governing the issues of regioselectivity, enantioselectivity, and diastereoselectivity ratios.

Abstract
A procedure for the synthesis of 1,2-diamines from vinyl sulfonium salts and arylamines under mild conditions was developed. This present synthetic protocol not only obviates the need for a transition-metal catalyst and an oxidizing reagent but also features a broad substrates scope. The practicability of this protocol is demonstrated by the one-pot synthesis, a scale-up reaction, and transformations of the products to diverse N-heterocyclic compounds. Mechanistic studies indicate that the formation of aziridine plays a key role during this diamination process.

AbstractThe application of alkylsulfonium salts as alkyl-transfer reagents in organic synthesis has reemerged over the past few years. Numerous heteroatom- and carbon-centered nucleophiles, alkenes, arenes, alkynes, organometallic reagents, and others are readily alkylated by alkylsulfonium salts under mild conditions. The reactions feature convenience, high efficiency, readily accessible and structurally diversified alkylation reagents, good functional group tolerance, and a wide range of substrate types, allowing the facile synthesis of various useful organic molecules from commercially available building blocks. This review summarizes alkylation reactions using either isolated or in situ formed alkylsulfonium salts via nucleophilic substitution, transition-metal-catalyzed reactions, and photoredox processes.1 Introduction2 General Methods for the Synthesis of Alkylsulfonium Salts3 Electrophilic Alkylation Using Alkylsulfonium Salts4 Transition-Metal-Catalyzed Alkylation Using Alkylsulfonium Salts5 Photoredox-Catalyzed Alkylation Using Alkylsulfonium Salts6 Conclusion
