Abstract
Cyclic olefins with triazene functions can display interesting reactivity, but synthetic access to these compounds is limited thus far. Herein, we describe the synthesis of cyclobutenyl triazenes fused to cyclopentanone or cyclohexanone rings. The bicyclic compounds are obtained by Lewis acid-catalyzed [2 + 2] cycloaddition reactions of 1-alkynyl triazenes and enones. In the presence of Me2AlCl, bicyclic [4.2.0] triazenes rearrange into [3.2.1] ring systems. The triazene function in the latter can be used for further functionalizations. Notably, we show that vinyl triazenes can serve as substrates for Pd-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions with arylboronic acids.

Abstract
An oxocarbenium-olefin cross metathesis occurs during Brønsted acid catalyzed reactions of 1H-isochromene acetals with vinyl diazo compounds. Formally a carbonyl-alkene [2 + 2]-cyclization between isobenzopyrylium ions and the vinyl group of vinyl diazoesters, the retro-[2 + 2] cycloaddition produces a tethered alkene and a vinyl diazonium ion that, upon loss of dinitrogen, undergoes a highly selective carbocationic cascade rearrangements to diverse products whose formation is controlled by reactant substituents. Polysubstituted benzobicyclo[3.3.1]oxocines, benzobicyclo[3.2.2]oxepines, benzobicyclopropane, and naphthalenes are obtained in good to excellent yields and selectivities. Furthermore, isotopic tracer and control experiments shed light on the oxocarbenium-olefin metathesis/rearrangement process as well as on the origin of the interesting substituent-dependent selectivity.

Abstract
Nucleophilic transformations of azido-containing carbonyl compounds are discussed. The phosphazide formation from azides and di(tert-butyl)(4-(dimethylamino)phenyl)phosphine (Amphos) enabled transformations of carbonyl groups with nucleophiles such as lithium aluminum hydride and organometallic reagents. The good stability of the phosphazide moiety allowed us to perform consecutive transformations of a diazide through triazole formation and the Grignard reaction.

Abstract
AbstractBimolecular nucleophilic substitution (SN2) is one of the most well-known fundamental reactions in organic chemistry to generate new molecules from two molecules. In principle, a nucleophile attacks from the back side of an alkylating agent having a suitable leaving group, most commonly a halide. However, alkyl halides are expensive, very harmful, toxic and not so stable, which makes them problematic for laboratory use. In contrast, trialkyl phosphates are inexpensive, readily accessible and stable at room temperature, under air, and are easy to handle, but rarely used as alkylating agents in organic synthesis. Here, we describe a mild, straightforward and powerful method for nucleophilic alkylation of various N-, O-, C- and S-nucleophiles using readily available trialkyl phosphates. The reaction proceeds smoothly in excellent yield, and quantitative yield in many cases, and covers a wide range of substrates. Further, the rare stereoselective transfer of secondary alkyl groups has been achieved with inversion of configuration of chiral centers (up to 98% ee).

Abstract
Aromatic compounds containing triazenyl groups (N3 RR') have a profound impact on synthetic organic and medicinal chemistry. In contrast, the chemistry of vinyl and alkynyl triazenes was a largely uncharted territory until recently. The situation has changed over the last five years, and it has become apparent that vinyl and alkynyl triazenes are highly interesting compounds with a unique reactivity. The electron-donating properties of the triazenyl group provide alkynyl triazenes with an ynamide-like reactivity, which can be exploited in reactions of the triple bond. Vinyl triazenes, on the other hand, can be used for electrophilic vinylation reactions. The foundation for this new triazene chemistry are synthetic pathways which allow preparing vinyl and alkynyl triazenes in few steps from readily available starting materials. In this Minireview, we summarize recent developments in this area.

Abstract
Densely substituted fused aromatic triazenes can be prepared by [2 + 2 + 2] cyclotrimerization reactions of 1-alkynyl triazenes. The Cp*Ru-catalyzed cyclization proceeds well with both simple alkynyl triazenes and tethered 1-diynyl triazenes. Attractively, the methodology can be extended to pyridine synthesis by replacing an alkyne with a nitrile. The reaction is regioselective and yields the sterically more hindered product. The triazene group precisely installed on the synthesized aryl and pyridyl ring is a highly versatile moiety, which is effortlessly converted into the most important and frequently used functional aryl substituents, including fluorides. It is also suited for intramolecular transformations to afford a variety of valuable heterocycles. The coordination chemistry of alkynyl triazenes and Cp*RuCl was studied and led to the structural characterization of a Cp*RuCl(η2-alkyne) complex, a Cp*RuCl(η4-cyclobutadiene) complex, and an unusual dinuclear Ru complex with a bridging tetramethylfulvene ligand. Complexes of this type are potentially involved in catalyst deactivation pathways.

Abstract
BF3·OEt2-mediated cross-coupling of (SnMe3)2 with aryl triazene offers a new strategy for the synthesis of aryl stannane. A variety of synthetically useful aryl trimethylstannanes were produced in moderate to good yields with this metal-free approach. One-pot sequential Stille cross-coupling with different aryl bromides provides a short entry to both symmetrical and unsymmetrical biaryl compounds.
