Abstract
Thyroid transcription factor 1 (TTF1) is an important cancer-related biomarker for clinical diagnosis, especially for carcinomas of lung and thyroid origin. Herein, a novel label-free electrochemical immunosensor was prepared for TTF1 detection based on nanohybrids of ribbon-like tungsten disulfide-reduced graphene oxide (WS2-rGO) and gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). The proposed immunosensor employed H2O2 as the electrochemical probe because of the excellent peroxidase-like activity of ribbon-like WS2-rGO. The introduction of AuNPs not only enhanced the electrocatalytic activity of the immunosensor, but also provided immobilization sites for binding TTF1 antibodies. The electrochemical signals can be greatly amplified due to their excellent electrochemical performance, which realized the sensitive determination of TTF1 with a wide linear range of 0.025-50 ng mL-1 and a lower detection limit of 0.016 ng mL-1 (S/N = 3). Moreover, the immunosensor exhibited high selectivity, good reproducibility, and robust stability, as well as the ability to detect TTF1 in human serum with satisfactory results. These observed properties of the immunosensor enhance its potential practicability in clinical applications. This method can also be used for the detection of other tumor biomarkers by using the corresponding antigen-antibody complex.

Abstract
Neonicotinoid insecticides (NEOs) are a new class of neurotoxic pesticides primarily used for pest control on fruits and vegetables, cereals, and other crops after organophosphorus pesticides (OPPs), carbamate pesticides (CBPs), and pyrethroid pesticides. However, chronic abuse and illegal use have led to the contamination of food and water sources as well as damage to ecological and environmental systems. Long-term exposure to NEOs may pose potential risks to animals (especially bees) and even human health. Consequently, it is necessary to develop effective, robust, and rapid methods for NEOs detection. Specific recognition-based chemical sensing has been regarded as one of the most promising detection tools for NEOs due to their excellent selectivity, sensitivity, and robust interference resistance. In this review, we introduce the novel recognition strategies-enabled chemical sensing in food neonicotinoids detection in the past years (2017-2023). The properties and advantages of molecular imprinting recognition (MIR), host-guest recognition (HGR), electron-catalyzed recognition (ECR), immune recognition (IR), aptamer recognition (AR), and enzyme inhibition recognition (EIR) in the development of NEOs sensing platforms are discussed in detail. Recent applications of chemical sensing platforms in various food products, including fruits and vegetables, cereals, teas, honey, aquatic products, and others are highlighted. In addition, the future trends of applying chemical sensing with specific recognition strategies for NEOs analysis are discussed.

Abstract
Contaminants of Emerging Concern (CECs), a new category of contaminants currently in the limelight, are a major issue of global concern. The pervasive nature of CECs and their harmful effects, such as cancer, reproductive disorders, neurotoxicity, etc., make the situation alarming. The perilous nature of CECs lies in the fact that even very small concentrations of CECs can cause great impacts on living beings. They also have a nature of bioaccumulation. Thus, there is a great need to have efficient sensors for the detection of CECs to ensure a safe living environment. Electrochemical sensors are an efficient platform for CEC detection as they are highly selective, sensitive, stable, reproducible, and prompt, and can detect very low concentrations of the analyte. Major classes of CECs are pharmaceuticals, illicit drugs, personal care products, endocrine disruptors, newly registered pesticides, and disinfection by-products. This review focusses on CECs, including their sources and pathways, health effects caused by them, and electrochemical sensors as reported in the literature under each category for the detection of major CECs.
