Abstract
The interfacial instability of high-nickel layered oxides severely plagues practical application of high-energy quasi-solid-state lithium metal batteries (LMBs). Herein, a uniform and highly oxidation-resistant polymer layer within inner Helmholtz plane is engineered by in situ polymerizing 1-vinyl-3-ethylimidazolium (VEIM) cations preferentially adsorbed on LiNi0.83Co0.11Mn0.06O2 (NCM83) surface, inducing the formation of anion-derived cathode electrolyte interphase with fast interfacial kinetics. Meanwhile, the copolymerization of [VEIM][BF4] and vinyl ethylene carbonate (VEC) endows P(VEC-IL) copolymer with the positively-charged imidazolium moieties, providing positive electric fields to facilitate Li+ transport and desolvation process. Consequently, the Li||NCM83 cells with a cut-off voltage up to 4.5 V exhibit excellent reversible capacity of 130 mAh g-1 after 1000 cycles at 25 °C and considerable discharge capacity of 134 mAh g-1 without capacity decay after 100 cycles at -20 °C. This work provides deep understanding on tailoring electric double layer by cation specific adsorption for high-voltage quasi-solid-state LMBs.

Highly efficient and selective removal of anionic dyes from aqueous solutions using polyacrylamide/peach gum polysaccharide/attapulgite composite hydrogels with positively charged hybrid network. Abstract
To avoid the weakness (lower adsorption rate and selectivity) of peach gum polysaccharide (PGP) and improve the adsorption performance of polyacrylamide (PAAm) hydrogel (lower adsorption capacity), in the present work, the PGP was chemically tailored to afford ammoniated PGP (APGP) and quaternized PGP (QPGP), and attapulgite (ATP) was bi-functionalized with cation groups and carbon‑carbon double bond. Then, PAAm/APGP and PAAm/QPGP/ATP hydrogels were synthesized via redox polymerization. The synthesis procedure and properties of hydrogels were traced by FTIR, SEM, XPS, TGA, TEM, and BET methods, and the dye adsorption performance of the hydrogels was evaluated using the new coccine (NC) and tartrazine (TTZ) aqueous solutions as the model anionic dyes. Effects of initial dye concentration, pH, and ionic strength on the adsorption were investigated. Compared with PAAm/APGP hydrogel, PAAm/APGP/ATP hydrogel exhibits higher adsorption rate, superior adsorption capacity, stability, and selectivity towards anionic dye. The adsorption process of PAAm/QPGP/ATP hydrogel reached equilibrium in about 20 min and followed the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Langmuir isotherm. The adsorption capacities towards NC and TTZ of PAAm/QPGP/ATP hydrogel were calculated as 873.235 and 731.432 mg/g. This hydrogel adsorbent originating from PAAm, PGP, and ATP shows great promise for application in practical water treatment.

Abstract
To achieve a rapid asymmetry conversion, the substrate objects suffer from accelerated kinetic velocity and random rotation at the cost of selectivity. Inspired by natural enzymes, optimizing the host-guest configuration will realize the high-performance enantioselective conversion of chemical reactions. Herein, multivariate binding interactions were introduced into the 1D channel of a chiral catalyst to simulate the enzymatic action. An imidazolium group was used to electrophilically activate the C═O unit of a ketone substrate, and the counterion binds the hydrogen donor isopropanol. This binding effect around the catalytic center produces strong stereo-induction, resulting in high conversion (99.5% yield) and enantioselectivity (99.5% ee) for the asymmetric hydrogenation of biomass-derived acetophenone. In addition, the turnover frequency of the resulting catalyst (5160 h-1 TOF) is more than 58 times that of a homogeneous Ru-TsDPEN catalyst (88 h-1 TOF) under the same condition, which corresponds to the best performance reported till date among all existing catalysts for the considered reaction.
