Abstract
This study was focused on the activation of the CP bond via reactions of Ph2CP-PtBu2 (1) with 1,6-hexanediol and selected dithiols (1,4-butanedithiol, 1,4-benzenedithiol and 1,4-benzenedimethanethiol). These reactions proceed according to a 1,2-addition mechanism, providing new compounds with formulas {(Ph)2(H)C-P-PtBu2}{μ2-(O-(CH2)6-O)}{tBu2P-P-C(H)(Ph)2} (2), {(Ph)2(H)C-P-PtBu2}{μ2-(S-(CH2)4-S)}{tBu2P-P-C(H)(Ph)2} (3a), {(Ph)2(H)C-P-PtBu2}{μ2-(S-C6H4-S)}{tBu2P-P-C(H)(Ph)2} (3b), and {(Ph)2(H)C-P-PtBu2}{μ2-(S-CH2-C6H4-CH2-S)}{tBu2P-P-C(H)(Ph)2} (3c). Next, the reactions of 3a and 3c with metal chlorides led to the growth of desired coordination polymers of copper(I) and silver(I). All the obtained compounds remained stable under atmospheric conditions.

Abstract
Ag(I) coordination compounds have recently attracted much attention as antiproliferative and antibacterial agents against a wide range of cancer cell lines and pathogens. The bioactivity potential of these complexes depends on their structural characteristics and the nature of their ligands. Herein, we present a series of four Ag(I) coordination compounds bearing as ligands the CH3-substituted thiadiazole-based thioamide 5-methyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-thiol (mtdztH) and phosphines, i.e., [AgCl(mtdztH)(PPh3)2] (1), [Ag(mtdzt)(PPh3)3] (2), [AgCl(mtdztH)(xantphos)] (3), and [AgmtdztH)(dppe)(NO3)]n (4), where xantphos = 4,5-bis(diphenylphosphino)-9,9-dimethylxanthene and dppe = 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane, and the assessment of their in vitro antibacterial and anti-cancer efficiency. Among them, diphosphine-containing compounds 3 and 4 were found to exhibit broad-spectrum antibacterial activity characteristics against both Gram-(+) and Gram-(-) bacterial strains, showing high in vitro bioactivity with IC50 values as low as 4.6 μΜ. In vitro cytotoxicity studies against human ovarian, pancreatic, lung, and prostate cancer cell lines revealed the strong cytotoxic potential of 2 and 4, with IC50 values in the range of 3.1-24.0 μΜ, while 3 and 4 maintained the normal fibroblast cells' viability at relatively higher levels. Assessment of these results, in combination with those obtained for analogous Ag(I) complexes bearing similar heterocyclic thioamides, suggest the pivotal role of the substituent groups of the thioamide heterocyclic ring in the antibacterial and anti-cancer efficacy of the respective Ag(I) complexes. Compounds 1-4 exhibited moderate in vitro antioxidant capacity for free radicals scavenging, as well as reasonably strong ability to interact with calf-thymus DNA, suggesting the likely implication of these properties in their bioactivity mechanisms. Complementary insights into the possible mechanism of their anti-cancer activity were provided by molecular docking calculations, exploring their ability to bind to the overexpressed fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 (FGFR1), affecting cancer cells' functionalities.

Photoinduced Bisphosphination of Alkynes with Phosphorus Interelement Compounds and Its Application to Double-Bond Isomerization. Molecules 2022; 27:molecules27041284. Abstract
The addition of interelement compounds with heteroatom-heteroatom single bonds to carbon-carbon unsaturated bonds under light irradiation is believed to be an atomically efficient method to procure materials with carbon-heteroatom bonds. In this study, we achieved the photoinduced bisphosphination of alkynes using the phosphorus interelement compound, tetraphenyldiphosphine monosulfide (1), to stereoselectively obtain the corresponding (E)-vic-1,2-bisphosphinoalkenes, which are important transition-metal ligands. The bisphosphination reaction was performed by mixing 1 and various alkynes and then exposing the mixture to light irradiation. Optimization of the conditions for the bisphosphination reaction resulted in a wide substrate range and excellent trans-selectivity. Moreover, the completely regioselective introduction of pentavalent and trivalent phosphorus groups to the terminal and internal positions of the alkynes, respectively, was achieved. We also found that the novel double-bond isomerization reaction of the synthesized bisphosphinated products occurred with a catalytic amount of a base under mild conditions. Our method for the photoinduced bisphosphination of carbon-carbon unsaturated compounds may have strong implications for both organic synthesis and organometallic and catalyst chemistry.

Abstract
The homolytic cleavage of the PV(O)–PIII bond in tetraphenyldiphosphine monoxide simultaneously provides both pentavalent and trivalent phosphorus-centered radicals with different reactivities. The method using V-40 as an initiator is successfully investigated for the regio- and stereoselective phosphinylphosphination of terminal alkynes giving the corresponding trans-isomers of 1-diphenylphosphinyl-2-diphenylthiophosphinyl-1-alkenes in good yields. The protocol can be applied to a wide variety of terminal alkynes including both alkyl- and arylalkynes.

The ability of silver(I) thiocyanate 4-methoxyphenyl phosphine to induce apoptotic cell death in esophageal cancer cells is correlated to mitochondrial perturbations. Biometals 2018; 31:189-202. Abstract
First generation silver(I) phosphines have garnered much interest due to their vast structural diversity and promising anticancer activity. Increasing incidences of cancer, side-effects to chemotherapeutic agents and redevelopment of tumors due to resistance prompts the exploration of alternative compounds showing anticancer activity. This study revealed the effective induction of cell death by a silver(I) thiocyanate 4-methoxyphenyl phosphine complex in a malignant esophageal cell line. Apoptotic cell death was confirmed in treated cells. Moreover, mitochondrial targeting via the intrinsic cell death pathway was evident due to low levels of ATP, altered ROS activity, mitochondrial membrane depolarization, cytochrome c release and caspase-9 cleavage. The complex displayed low cytotoxicity towards two human non-malignant, skin and kidney, cell lines. The findings reported herein give further insight into the selective targeting of silver(I) phosphines and support our belief that this complex shows great promise as an effective chemotherapeutic drug.

Abstract
We present a study of the self-assembling behaviour in solution of Ag[PF6] with one equivalent of an N^N ligand (N^N = 6,6'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine (6,6'-Me2bpy) or 2,2':6',2''-terpyridine (tpy)), together with either 0.5 or one equivalent of the bridging ligand bis(diphenylphosphino)ethyne (dppa). Each product contains a dinuclear cation, with one or two dppa ligands bridging the two Ag+ centres; 6,6'-Me2bpy and tpy, respectively, act as chelating ligands. The compounds have been analysed in solution using NMR spectroscopic methods (1H, 1H{31P}, COSY, NOESY, 13C, HMQC and HMBC), including room and low temperature measurements. 31P{1H} NMR spectra recorded at different temperatures allow a deeper insight into the dynamic equilibrium processes. In addition, solution 31P-109Ag HSQC spectroscopic measurements were performed and show, inter alia, the ratio of the splitting in the F1 dimension and the 1J31P-109Ag coupling constant in the fully coupled HSQC. Single crystal X-ray diffraction yielded two pseudo-polymorphic structures for the doubly-bridged [Ag2(dppa)2(tpy)2][PF6]2 and one for the singly-bridged [Ag2(dppa)(6,6'-Me2bpy)2][PF6]2.

Abstract
With the aim to synthesize soluble cluster molecules, the silver salt of (4-(tert-butyl)phenyl)methanethiol [AgSCH2C6H4t Bu] was applied as a suitable precursor for the formation of a nanoscale silver sulfide cluster. In the presence of 1,6-(diphenylphosphino)hexane (dpph), the 115 nuclear silver cluster [Ag115S34(SCH2C6H4t Bu)47(dpph)6] was obtained. The molecular structure of this compound was elucidated by single crystal X-ray analysis and fully characterized by spectroscopic techniques. In contrast to most of the previously published cluster compounds with more than a hundred heavy atoms, this nanoscale inorganic molecule is soluble in organic solvents, which allowed a comprehensive investigation in solution by UV-Vis spectroscopy and one- and two-dimensional NMR spectroscopy including 31P/109Ag-HSQC and DOSY experiments. These are the first heteronuclear NMR investigations on coinage metal chalcogenides. They give some first insight into the behavior of nanoscale silver sulfide clusters in solution. Additionally, molecular weight determinations were performed by 2D analytical ultracentrifugation and HR-TEM investigations confirm the presence of size-homogeneous nanoparticles present in solution.

Abstract
A rare example is reported in which discrete Ag2 L 2 ring and (AgL)∞ chain motifs [L = N,N'-bis(3-imidazol-1-yl-propyl)-pyromellitic diimide] co-crystallize in the same crystal lattice with varying ratios and degrees of disorder. Crystal structures obtained from representative crystals reveal compatible packing arrangements of the cyclic and polymeric isomers within the crystal lattice, which enables them to co-exist within a crystalline solid solution. A feasible pathway for transformation between the isomers is suggested via facile rotation of the coordinating imidazolyl groups. This chemical system could provide a chance for direct observation of ring-opening isomerization at the crystal surface. Mass spectrometry and (1)H NMR titration show a dynamic equilibrium between cyclic and oligomeric species in solution, and a potential crystallization process is suggested involving alignment of precursors directed by aromatic stacking interactions between pyromellitic diimide units, followed by ring-opening isomerization at the interface between the solid and the solution. Both cyclic and oligomeric species can act as precursors, with interconversion between them being facile due to a low energy barrier for rotation of the imidazole rings. Thermogravimetric analysis and variable-temperature powder X-ray diffraction indicate a transition to a different crystalline phase around 120°C, which is associated with loss of solvent from the crystal lattice.
