Abstract
In an effort to establish B-P coupling reactions without the use of phosphine-borane dehydrocoupling agent, we have developed a new synthetic methodology employing group 8 metal σ-borate complex [{κ3 -H,S,S'-BH2 L2 }Ru{κ3 -H,H,S-BH3 L}] (L=NC5 H4 S), 1. Treatment of 1 with chlorodiphenyl phosphine (PPh2 Cl) yielded 1,5-P,S chelated Ru-dihydridoborate species [PPh2 H{κ3 -H,H,S-BH(OH)L}Ru{κ2 -P,S-(Ph2 P)BH2 L}], 2. The insertion of phosphine moiety (PPh2 ) by the cleavage of 3c-2e σ(Ru… H-B) bonding interaction led to the formation of B-P bond. The κ2 -P,S chelated six-membered ring adopted a boat conformation in complex 2. The heterocycle is made of all different atoms, which is one of the rarest examples of heteroatomic ring systems. Theoretical outcomes demonstrated the electronic insight of B-P coupling and stabilization through transition metal. In order to explore an alternate route of B-P bond formation, we have further explored the reaction of 1 and Ru-bis(dihydridoborate) complex, 5 with secondary phosphine oxide (SPO). Although, thermolysis of 1 with diphenylphosphine oxide yielded analogous σ-borate complex 3, the similar reaction of 5 at room temperature led to the formation of novel phosphinous(III) acid incorporated Ru(σ-borate)(dihydridoborate) complex, 6. In a similar fashion, the reaction of 5 with phosphite ligand generated Ru(σ-borate)(dihydridoborate) complex, 7, which is analogous to 6.

Abstract
As the world pledges to significantly cut carbon emissions, the demand for sustainable and clean energy has now become more important than ever. This includes both production and storage of energy carriers, a majority of which involve catalytic reactions. This article reviews recent developments of homogeneous catalysts in emerging applications of sustainable energy. The most important focus has been on hydrogen storage as several efficient homogeneous catalysts have been reported recently for (de)hydrogenative transformations promising to the hydrogen economy. Another direction that has been extensively covered in this review is that of the methanol economy. Homogeneous catalysts investigated for the production of methanol from CO2, CO, and HCOOH have been discussed in detail. Moreover, catalytic processes for the production of conventional fuels (higher alkanes such as diesel, wax) from biomass or lower alkanes have also been discussed. A section has also been dedicated to the production of ethylene glycol from CO and H2 using homogeneous catalysts. Well-defined transition metal complexes, in particular, pincer complexes, have been discussed in more detail due to their high activity and well-studied mechanisms.

Abstract
Amine-borane complexes have been extensively studied as hydrogen storage materials. Herein, we report a new amine-borane system featuring a reversible dehydrogenation and regeneration at room temperature. In addition to high purity H2 , the reaction between ethylenediamine bisborane (EDAB) and ethylenediamine (ED) leads to unique boron-carbon-nitrogen 5-membered rings in the dehydrogenation product where one boron is tricoordinated by three nitrogen atoms. Owing to the unique cyclic structure, the dehydrogenation product can be efficiently converted back to EDAB by NaBH4 and H2 O at room temperature. This finding could lead to the discovery of new amine boranes with potential usage as hydrogen storage materials.

Abstract
A magnesium complex (1) featuring a bidentate aminopyridinato ligand is a remarkably selective catalyst for the dehydrocoupling of amine-boranes. This reaction proceeds to completion with low catalyst loadings (1 mol %) under mild conditions (60 °C), exceeding previously reported s-block systems in terms of selectivity, rate, and turnover number (TON). Mechanistic studies by in situ NMR analysis reveals the reaction to be first order in both catalyst and substrate. A reaction mechanism is proposed to account for these findings, with the high TON of the catalyst attributed to the bidentate nature of the ligand, which allows for reversible deprotonation of the substrate and regeneration of 1 as a stable resting state.

Abstract
Anionic α-diimine cobalt complexes, such as [K(thf)1.5 {(Dipp BIAN)Co(η4 -cod)}] (1; Dipp=2,6-diisopropylphenyl, cod=1,5-cyclooctadiene), catalyze the dehydrogenation of several amine-boranes. Based on the excellent catalytic properties, an especially effective transfer hydrogenation protocol for challenging olefins, imines, and N-heteroarenes was developed. NH3 BH3 was used as a dihydrogen surrogate, which transferred up to two equivalents of H2 per NH3 BH3 . Detailed spectroscopic and mechanistic studies are presented, which document the rate determination by acidic protons in the amine-borane.

Abstract
Ammonia borane (NH3-BH3) is of interest as a hydrogen storage material because of its ease of use and its ability to release three molar equivalents of H2(g) via catalytic hydrolysis. Most heterogeneous catalysts for ammonia borane hydrolysis are nanoparticles containing expensive noble metals. Here, we show that metal ruthenate perovskites function as active and durable catalysts for ammonia borane hydrolysis. As a bulk powder, CaRuO3 catalyzes the hydrolysis of ammonia borane at room temperature and is recyclable and reusable. CaRuO3 facilitates the release of H2(g) from aqueous ammonia borane solutions at comparable rates to some other heterogeneous catalyst systems while having a low noble metal content. Other ruthenium-based perovskites, including SrRuO3, Ca2LaRuO6, Sr2CoRuO6, and SrLaCoRuO6, are similarly active catalysts for room-temperature ammonia borane hydrolysis.

Abstract
Precatalysts active for the dehydropolymerisation of primary amine-boranes are generally based on mid or late transition metal. We have found that the activity of the precatalyst system formed from CpR2TiCl2 and 2nBuLi towards the dehydrogenation of the secondary amine-borane Me2NH·BH3, to yield the cyclic diborazane [Me2N-BH2]2, increases dramatically with increasing electron-donating character of the cyclopentadienyl rings (CpR). Application of the most active precatalyst system (CpR = η-C5Me5) to the primary amine-borane MeNH2·BH3 enabled the first synthesis of high molar mass poly(N-methylaminoborane), [MeNH-BH2] n , the BN analogue of polypropylene, by an early transition metal such as catalyst. Significantly, unlike other dehydropolymerization precatalysts for MeNH2·BH3 such as [Ir(POCOP)H2], skeletal nickel, and [Rh(COD)Cl]2, the Ti precatalyst system was also active towards a range of substrates including BzNH2·BH3 (Bz = benzyl) yielding high molar mass polymer. Moreover, in contrast to the late transition metal catalysed dehydropolymerisation of MeNH2·BH3 and also the Ziegler-Natta polymerisation of olefins, studies indicate that the Ti-catalyzed dehydropolymerization reactions proceed by a step-growth rather than a chain-growth mechanism.

Abstract
Bond activation at a transition metal centre is a key fundamental step in numerous chemical transformations. The oxidative addition of element-hydrogen bonds, for example, represents a critical step in a range of widely applied catalytic processes. Despite this, experimental studies defining steps along the bond activation pathway are very rare. In this work, we report on fundamental studies defining a new oxidative activation pathway: combined experimental and computational approaches yield structural snapshots of the simultaneous activation of both bonds of a β-diketiminate-stabilized GaH2 unit at a single metal centre. Systematic variation of the supporting phosphine ligands and single crystal X-ray/neutron diffraction are exploited in tandem to allow structural visualization of the activation process, from a η2-H,H σ-complex showing little Ga-H bond activation, through species of intermediate geometry featuring stretched Ga-H and compressed M-H/M-Ga bonds, to a fully activated metal dihydride featuring a neutral (carbene-type) N-heterocyclic GaI ligand.

Abstract
Despite the great potential of both π-conjugated organoboron polymers and BN-doped polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in organic optoelectronics, our knowledge of conjugated polymers with B-N bonds in their main chain is currently scarce. Herein, the first examples of a new class of organic-inorganic hybrid polymers are presented, which consist of alternating NBN and para-phenylene units. Polycondensation with B-N bond formation provides facile access to soluble materials under mild conditions. The photophysical data for the polymer and molecular model systems of different chain lengths reveal a low extent of π-conjugation across the NBN units, which is supported by DFT calculations. The applicability of the new polymers as macromolecular polyligands is demonstrated by a cross-linking reaction with Zr(IV) .

Abstract
The coordination chemistry of the 1,2-BN-cyclohexanes 2,2-R2 -1,2-B,N-C4 H10 (R2 =HH, MeH, Me2 ) with Ir and Rh metal fragments has been studied. This led to the solution (NMR spectroscopy) and solid-state (X-ray diffraction) characterization of [Ir(PCy3 )2 (H)2 (η(2) η(2) -H2 BNR2 C4 H8 )][BAr(F) 4 ] (NR2 =NH2 , NMeH) and [Rh(iPr2 PCH2 CH2 CH2 PiPr2 )(η(2) η(2) -H2 BNR2 C4 H8 )][BAr(F) 4 ] (NR2 =NH2 , NMeH, NMe2 ). For NR2 =NH2 subsequent metal-promoted, dehydrocoupling shows the eventual formation of the cyclic tricyclic borazine [BNC4 H8 ]3 , via amino-borane and, tentatively characterized using DFT/GIAO chemical shift calculations, cycloborazane intermediates. For NR2 =NMeH the final product is the cyclic amino-borane HBNMeC4 H8 . The mechanism of dehydrogenation of 2,2-H,Me-1,2-B,N-C4 H10 using the {Rh(iPr2 PCH2 CH2 CH2 PiPr2 )}(+) catalyst has been probed. Catalytic experiments indicate the rapid formation of a dimeric species, [Rh2 (iPr2 PCH2 CH2 CH2 PiPr2 )2 H5 ][BAr(F) 4 ]. Using the initial rate method starting from this dimer, a first-order relationship to [amine-borane], but half-order to [Rh] is established, which is suggested to be due to a rapid dimer-monomer equilibrium operating.

Abstract
We describe facial and meridional isomers of [Rh(III)(pyalk)3], as well as meridional [Rh(IV)(pyalk)3](+) {pyalk =2-(2-pyridyl)-2-propanoate}, the first coordination complex in an N,O-donor environment to show a clean, reversible Rh(III/IV) redox couple and to have a stable Rh(IV) form, which we characterize by EPR and UV-visible spectroscopy as well as X-ray crystallography. The unprecedented stability of the Rh(IV) species is ascribed to the exceptional donor strength of the ligands, their oxidation resistance, and the meridional coordination geometry.

Abstract
Herein we detail the synthesis and characterisation of a series of zirconium compounds featuring the bis(amido)silyl ligand [(i)Pr2Si(NDipp)2](2-) (Dipp = 2,6-diisopropylphenyl). The functionalisation of bis(amido)silyl zirconium halide complexes with a variety of nucleophiles, such as LiNMe2, LiBH4 and MeLi, was explored and the resulting products showed a propensity to form anionic zirconate salts when the syntheses were carried out in THF. One of the zirconate products, [(i)Pr2Si(NDipp)2]Zr(NMe2)2·ClLi(THF)3, has the ability to catalyse the dehydrocoupling of primary and secondary amine-boranes at room temperature in aromatic solvents.
