Abstract
The present study aims to assess the effects of contamination of the Agadir bay coasts using bivalves as a biomonitoring sentinel species. Seasonal variations of biochemical composition in terms of total protein content and oxidative stress biomarkers including glutathione-S-transferase, malondialdehyde, catalase and acetylcholinesterase were evaluated in the soft tissues of Scrobicularia plana and Donax trunculus specimens. The latter were collected from two sites in Agadir bay during two-year span (2018-2020). The Integrated Biomarker Response Index (IBR) was performed to classify the stress response in both species and to assess the level of exposure to xenobiotics. The data showed maximum annual values of acetylcholinesterase and malondialdehyde for Donax trunculus in Agadir beach (AG) with 6.25 nmol/mn/mg and 3 nmol/mg of protein, respectively. Those of catalase and glutathione-S-transferase for Scrobicularia plana in Oued Souss estuary (OS) were of 4.41 μmol/mn/mg and 14.43 nmol/mn/mg of protein, respectively. The studied species are considered good indicators in aquatic ecosystems.

Abstract
This review covers the use of 2-azaallyl anions, 2-azaallyl cations, and 2-azaallyl radicals in organic synthesis up through June 2018. Particular attention is paid to both foundational studies and recent advances over the past decade involving semistabilized and nonstabilized 2-azaallyl anions as key intermediates in various carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom bond-forming processes. Both transition-metal-catalyzed and transition-metal-free transformations are covered. Azomethine ylides, which have received significant attention elsewhere, are discussed briefly with the primary focus on critical comparisons with 2-azaallyl anions in regard to generation and use.

Abstract
For the purpose of obtaining a creatinine-specific antibody, a creatinine derivative with 4-aminobutyl, which was served as a linker for preparing the creatinine-bovine serum albumin (BSA) conjugate, was synthesized from 4-benzylaminobutan-1-ol in 8 steps. Production of anti-creatinine antibodies was observed in two rabbits using the creatinine-BSA conjugate, although their titer was rather low.

Abstract
Similar yet different: A one-step regio- and diastereoselective synthesis of three new bis(pyrrolidine)[60]fullerenes, one cis-1 and two unprecedented cis-2 diastereoisomers, is reported. The compounds are easily purified using simple chromatographic techniques, and were fully characterized by spectroscopic techniques and X-ray crystallography. A mechanism for the isomeric conversion observed is proposed.

Abstract
Poly(diiodiacetylene), or PIDA, is a conjugated polymer containing the poly(diacetylene) (PDA) backbone but with only iodine atom substituents. The monomer diiodobutadiyne (1) can be aligned in the solid state with bis(nitrile) oxalamide hosts by hydrogen bonds between oxalamide groups and weak Lewis acid-base interactions (halogen bonds) between nitriles and iodoalkynes. The resulting cocrystals start out pale blue but turn shiny and copper-colored as the polymerization progresses. The development of a crystallization methodology that greatly improves the yield of PIDA to about 50% now allows the full characterization of the polymer by X-ray diffraction, solid-state (13)C MAS NMR, Raman, and electron absorption spectroscopy. Comparison of a series of hosts reveals an odd-even effect in the topochemical polymerization, based on the alkyl chain length of the host. In the cocrystals formed with bis(pentanenitrile) oxalamide (4) and bis(heptanenitrile) oxalamide (6), the host/guest ratio is 1:2 and the monomer polymerizes spontaneously at room temperature, while in the case of bis(butanenitrile) oxalamide (3) and bis(hexanenitrile) oxalamide (5), where the host and guest form cocrystals in a 1:1 ratio, the polymerization is disfavored and does not go to completion. The topochemical polymerization can also be observed in water suspensions of micrometer-sized 6.1 cocrystals; the size distribution of these microcrystals, and the resulting polymer chains, can be controlled by sonication. Completely polymerized PIDA cocrystals show a highly resolved vibronic progression in their UV/vis absorption spectra. Extensive rinsing of the crystals in organic solvents such as methanol, THF, and chloroform separates the polymer from the soluble host. Once isolated, PIDA forms blue suspensions in a variety of solvents. The UV/vis absorption spectra of these suspensions match the cocrystal spectrum, without the vibronic resolution. However, they also include a new longer-wavelength absorption peak, associated with aggregation of the polymer chains.

Abstract
Isothiocyanates (ITCs) are one of the many classes of breakdown products of glucosinolates found in crucifers such as broccoli and are thought to be partially responsible for the reduced risk of degenerative diseases associated with the consumption of vegetables. The production of ITCs such as L-sulforaphane is dependent on the hydrolytic bioactivities of myrosinase, localized both within vegetable tissues and within flora of the human GI tract, and is associated with important cancer chemopreventive activities. We hypothesized that novel isothiocyanates with enhanced chemopreventive properties relative to L-sulforaphane could be identified and that their glucosinolate precursors could be synthesized. From a library of 30 synthetic ITCs, we identified several with bioactivities equal or superior to those of L-sulforaphane. The corresponding non-natural glucosinolate precursors to these novel ITCs were constructed and found to be substrates for myrosinase. By utilizing a novel RP-HPLC assay to monitor myrosinase-dependent hydrolysis reactions, 2,2-diphenylethyl glucosinolate and (biphenyl-2-yl)methyl glucosinolate were shown to exhibit 26.5 and 2.8 %, respectively, of the relative activity of sinigrin and produced their corresponding ITCs in varying yields. These data support the notion that non-natural glucosinolates can act as prodrugs for novel ITCs, with a mechanism of action reliant on their hydrolytic cleavage by myrosinase. Such non-natural glucosinolates may serve as very economical chemopreventive agents for individuals at risk for cancers of and around the GI tract.

Abstract
Isoxazolino[4,5:1,2][60]- and -[70]fullerenes undergo an efficient retro-cycloaddition reaction to pristine fullerene by thermal treatment in the presence of an excess of a dienophile and Cu(II) catalysis, which can be selectively used in the presence of malonate or pyrrolidine cycloadducts. Trapping experiments using N-phenylmaleimide as dipolarophile have shown that the reaction mechanism occurs by thermal removal of the nitrile oxide 1,3-dipole, in a process which is favored by the presence of Cu(II) as the catalyst. The ESI-MS study supports the observed retro-cycloaddition process for both C60 and C70 derivatives. In contrast to previous electrochemical retro-cycloaddition processes observed in fulleropyrrolidines, isoxazolinofullerenes were stable under oxidative conditions.

Abstract
[Structure: see text] The regioselective functionalization of C60 with a trans-4,trans-4,trans-4 trisaddition pattern is not feasible directly. We have found an indirect approach taking advantage of the modified electronic reactivity of cis-1 bisadducts. The cis-1 addition pattern electronically activates three trans-4 C=C bonds on the opposite hemisphere of C60, allowing further highly regioselective additions at these positions. Thermal removal of the cis-1 blocking unit results in a trans-4,trans-4,trans-4 trisadduct with C3v symmetry.

Abstract
Selective synthesis of C60 bisadducts has been achieved by using the Prato 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of tethered bis-azomethine ylides. New bis(benzaldehydes) 1-4 tethered by a rigid linker were prepared and used to direct the second cycloaddition of azomethine ylide to C60. Equatorial, trans-4, trans-3, trans-2, and trans-1 bisadducts have been selectively prepared with this approach. However, the introduction of chiral centers in the pyrrolidine rings in the course of the reaction complicated the chemistry, as a number of stereoisomers theoretically could be formed. The structure determination of the isomeric bisadducts was made based on spectroscopic data and theoretical calculations. To our best knowledge, this represents the first example of a systematic study on tether-directed selective synthesis of C60 fulleropyrrolidine bisadducts.

Abstract
We report the isolation and characterization of bis- and tris-adducts of fulleropyrrolidine derivatives. First, all eight N-methyl regioisomers with two addends on the C60 sphere have been isolated; second, C60 was used as starting material for the synthesis of tris-adducts, and the products formed in detectable quantities have been isolated and characterized. Third, the same compounds were obtained by introducing the third addend on each previously isolated bis-derivative: this approach facilitated the assignment of the relative geometry through chromatographic comparison of the diverse reaction mixtures. Finally, the obtained tris-adducts have been characterized by means of ES-MS, UV-vis, 1H NMR, as well as comparison with UV spectra and elution order of Bingel and Diels-Alder tris-adducts described in the literature.

Abstract
A family of triads composed of C(60) attached by a rigid spacer to two identical TTF moieties has been synthesized, and some of the isomers have been isolated and characterized by UV-vis spectroscopy, LDI-TOF-MS, and HMBC NMR spectroscopy. AM1 semiempirical calculations of the dipolar moments and the heats of formation of the different isomers have been carried out in order to verify their assignments. Oxidation and reduction of the triads affords the derived radical ion systems, TTF(+*)-C(60)-TTF(+*) and TTF-C(60)(-*)-TTF, which were studied by EPR spectroscopy. Spin density distributions of these radical cations and radical anions show that the unpaired electron is located mainly on the TTF and fullerene moieties, respectively. However, while the EPR signals obtained from the radical cations are very similar for all the isomers, the structured signals observed for the radical anions arising from the coupling of the unpaired electron with the hydrogen atoms of the methylene bridges in the spacer show that there is a strong influence of the isomerism on the spin distribution. Importantly, the theoretical calculations of the spin density distributions of the radical anions fit well with the experimental EPR results.
