Abstract
We herein developed a reductive transamidation reaction between N-acyl benzotriazoles (AcBt) and organic nitro compounds or NaNO2 under mild conditions. This protocol employed the stable and readily available B2(OH)4 as the reducing agent and H2O as the ideal solvent. N-Deuterated amides can be synthesized when conducting the reaction in D2O. A reasonable reaction mechanism involving bond metathesis between the AcBt amide and amino boric acid intermediate was proposed to explain the unique nature of AcBt.

Abstract
Herein, we report an efficient and highly selective method for the reduction of aromatic, heteroaromatic and halonitro compounds using the readily available and cost-effective Ru/C as a catalyst along with unconventional CaH2 as a source of hydride. In most cases the corresponding anilines can be obtained by simple filtration without further purification. The use of 2-MeTHF and the simple operational work-up constitute a valid alternative to previous methodologies.

Abstract
In this study, we developed a metal-free and highly chemoselective method for the reduction of aromatic nitro compounds. This reduction was performed using tetrahydroxydiboron [B2(OH)4] as the reductant and 4,4'-bipyridine as the organocatalyst and could be completed within 5 min at room temperature. Under optimal conditions, nitroarenes with sensitive functional groups, such as vinyl, ethynyl, carbonyl, and halogen, were converted into the corresponding anilines with excellent selectivity while avoiding the undesirable reduction of the sensitive functional groups.

Abstract
This report describes an efficient transition-metal-free process toward the transfer hydrogenative cascade reaction between nitroarenes and amines or alcohols. The developed redox-economical approach was realized using a combination of KOtBu and Et3SiH as reagents, which allows the synthesis of benzimidazole derivatives via σ-bond metathesis. The reaction conditions hold well over a wide range of substrates embedded with diverse functional groups to deliver the desired products in good to excellent yields. The mechanistic proposal has been depicted on the basis of a series of control experiments, mass spectroscopic evidence which is well supported by density functional theory (DFT) calculations with a feasible energy profile.

Abstract
A green reduction of nitrobenzene to aniline was carried out using lignocellulosic biomass as a hydrogen source in a subcritical polar protic solvent, such as water and alcohol. The method is simple to implement, inexpensive, and easily applicable on a larger scale. The present method does not demand elaborated experimental conditions nor any metal catalyst. Optimal conditions provided aniline with a 90% yield by reduction of nitrobenzene in the presence of sawdust impregnated by KOH in subcritical methanol at 240 °C for 6 h.

Abstract
![]()
A hypodiboric
acid system for the reduction of nitro groups on
DNA–chemical conjugates has been developed. This transformation
provided good to excellent yields of the reduced amine product for
a variety of functionalized aromatic, heterocyclic, and aliphatic
nitro compounds. DNA tolerance to reaction conditions, extension to
decigram scale reductions, successful use in a DNA-encoded chemical
library synthesis, and subsequent target selection are also described.

Abstract
An environmentally friendly approach for the reduction of nitrobenzene to aniline promoted by carbonaceous bio-based materials was successfully achieved under subcritical water conditions. The proposed methodology features a metal-free process, no-hydrogen input as reductor, the use of commercial bio-based carbon materials having low cost and availability, and water as green solvent under subcritical conditions. Using optimized conditions, reduction of nitrobenzene in the presence of commercial NORIT GAC 12-40 or DACARB PC1000 was accomplished at 310 °C for 6 h and quantitatively furnished the target aniline. Treatment of NORIT GAC 12-40 with KOH allowed to decrease charcoal loading (6 g vs 40 g) and increase aniline yields (80% vs 66%).
