Abstract
Propargylic ethers serve as useful intermediates for the synthesis of a variety of complex targets. However, propargylic substitution of prefunctionalized alkyne starting materials remains the dominant method for the synthesis of propargyl ethers, while direct etherification of simple alkynes via propargylic C-H functionalization remains largely underreported. Herein, we report an organometallic umpolung approach for iron-mediated C-H propargylic etherification. A telescopic protocol for iron-mediated C-H deprotonation followed by mild oxidative coupling with alcohols enabled the use of simple or functionalized alkynes for the expedient synthesis of propargylic ethers with excellent functional group compatibility, chemoselectivity and regioselectivity.

Abstract
The quest for efficient and versatile methods for heterocycle synthesis continues to drive innovation in organic chemistry. In this context, the cyclization of alkynes catalyzed or mediated by boron trifluoride diethyl etherate (BF3·OEt2) has emerged as a powerful and widely applicable strategy. This review provides a comprehensive and authoritative overview of BF3·OEt2-catalyzed/mediated alkyne cyclization reactions, covering the scope, mechanisms, and applications of these processes. We discuss the synthesis of a diverse range of heterocyclic compounds, including dihydropyrans, quinolines, dehydropiperidines, oxindoles and others, and highlight the unique advantages of BF3·OEt2 as a catalyst/mediator. Recent advances, challenges, and future directions in this rapidly evolving field are also addressed. This review aims to serve as a valuable resource for synthetic chemists, inspiring further research and applications in this exciting area.

Abstract
A Rh(II)/boron reagent co-catalyzed unprecedent transformation was established for the rapid construction of multi-substituted conjugated dienones under mild conditions by trapping allene carbocations with oxonium ylides from simple starting points in yields up to 85%. Two CC double bonds, one C-C and one C-O single bond were built in this one-pot reaction. The diversity-oriented strategy was also established to synthesize alkyne ether and dihydrofuran derivatives by a substrate-depended fashion.

Abstract
A Zn(OTf)2-catalyzed formal [3 + 3] cascade annulation strategy for the synthesis of functionalized chromeno[2,3-b]pyridines has been developed using propargylic alcohols and 2-aminochromones as the substrates. The protocol provides a convenient and atom-economical method of accessing a broad range of chromeno[2,3-b]pyridine derivatives in excellent yields with good functional-group tolerance. The method is also effective on the gram scale, which highlights the inherent practicality of this synthetic transformation.

Abstract
Nucleophilic displacement of the propargylic alcohol is one of the sought-after methods in the current scenario. The highly nucleophilic alkyne functional moiety along with its considerably acidic terminal hydrogen atom allows the propargylic unit to play a crucial role in organic synthesis by offering a handle for further synthetic transformations. Until 2000, the most fundamental propargylic substitution reaction was the Nicolas reaction, a multi-step transformation, developed in 1972, which involved cobalt as a stoichiometric promoter. Therefore, the direct catalytic substitution of propargylic alcohols was a highly desirable method for development. The pioneering work on the Ru-catalyzed propargylic substitution reaction in 2000 encouraged many researchers to develop several novel catalytic propargylic substitution reactions, which have made rapid progress since then. The purpose of this review is to emphasise the involvement of diverse types of Lewis acid, transition metal and Brønsted acid catalysts in the propargylic substitution reaction and provide an updated summary of the recent developments in this field. The selected examples presented here are the most significant and relevant ones and we believe that this will help the readers to comprehend the scope of the propargylic substitution reaction with diverse types of catalysts and will envisage the scientific community for the future developments in this field. Direct nucleophilic displacement of the alpha-hydroxy of the propargylic alcohol is one of the sought-after methods in the current scenario. An updated summary of the recent developments in this field is presented here.![]()

Abstract
Cyclic amines such as pyrrolidine and 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline undergo redox-annulations with α,β-unsaturated aldehydes and ketones. Carboxylic acid promoted generation of a conjugated azomethine ylide is followed by 6π-electrocylization, and, in some cases, tautomerization. The resulting ring-fused pyrrolines are readily oxidized to the corresponding pyrroles or reduced to pyrrolidines.

Abstract
We have performed a combined computational and experimental study to elucidate the mechanism of a metal-free α-amination of secondary amines. Calculations predicted azaquinone methides and azomethine ylides as the reactive intermediates and showed that iminium ions are unlikely to participate in these transformations. These results were confirmed by experimental deuterium-labeling studies and the successful trapping of the postulated azomethine ylide and azaquinone methide intermediates. In addition, computed barrier heights for the rate-limiting step correlate qualitatively with experimental findings.
