Abstract
We report a new high-yield synthesis of so far not accessible tetraphenylphosphonium methylcarbonate Ph4P[OCO2Me] via solvothermal fluoride-induced demethylation and MeF elimination at Me2CO3 (DMC) by Ph4P-F, structurally characterized as λ5-fluorophosphoran by XRD. The synthetic value of Ph4P[OCO2Me] key compound for preparing nearly all kinds of other Ph4P[anion] salts with perfectly crystallizing (not symmetry frustrated) cation is demonstrated by examples beyond ionic liquid research: a complete set of silylchalcogenide salts Ph4P[ESiMe3] (E = S, Se, and Te) including the first example of a structurally characterized non-coordinating, naked [Te-SiMe3]- anion is presented. With this set of soft Lewis bases and metal organic Lewis acids [Cp3La] at hand, a comprehensive series of crystalline 1 : 1 lanthanate complexes Ph4P[Cp3La-ESiMe3] has been prepared. Their structural features and trends such as complexation induced Si-E bond elongation and a pronounced trend in La-E-Si bond angle contraction with E = S < Se < Te are discussed. Heteronuclear 1H, 13C, 29Si, and 139La NMR studies provide a set of 139La NMR shifts for homologs of heavy chalcogen-lanthanum complexes.

Abstract
The oxidative nitration of styrenes in ethyl acetate represents a metal-free, environmentally friendly, and sustainable technique to recover even low concentrations of NO2 in air. Favorable features are that the product mixture comprising nitroalcohols, nitroketones, and nitro nitrates simplifies at lower concentrations of NO2 . Experiments in a miniplant-type 10 L wet scrubber demonstrated that the recycling technique is well applicable on larger scales at which initial NO2 concentrations of >10 000 ppm were reliably reduced to less than 40 ppm.

Abstract
Over the last few decades, the fast-growing development of polymer supported reagents has led to the synthesis of a variety of reagents on solid support. Some of the major advantages of using such reagents are that they are less hygroscopic, easy to recover, and can be recycled. Here, we have demonstrated that in situ generated ethyl acrylate conjugated polystyryl-diphenylphosphine (PDPP–EA) derived from the reaction of a mixture of polystyryl-diphenylphosphine and ethyl acrylate in a stoichiometric ratio can efficiently catalyze the synthesis of β-nitroalcohols from the reaction of aldehydes and nitroalkanes under solvent-free conditions (SolFC).

Abstract
ZrCl(4) was found to be an ideal catalyst to promote aza-Henry reactions between trifluoromethyl aldimines and some nitro alkanes giving new fluorinated β-nitro amines. The reaction is strongly influenced by the CF(3) group, the yield by the alkyl chain of the nitro compound, while the stereochemical outcome seems to be unaffected, the anti isomer being always the major product.
