Abstract
The biosynthetic origins of the structurally related racemic isoxazolidine Papaveraceae alkaloids Setigerumine I, Dactylicapnosinine and Dactylicapnosine have remained elusive since their original isolation over two decades ago. Herein we report the first biosynthetic hypothesis for their formation and, inspired by it, the first synthesis of (±)-Setigerumine I with accompanying computational rationale. Based on the results, these isoxazolidine alkaloids arise from racemizing oxidative rearrangements of prominent isoquinoline alkaloids Noscapine and Hydrastine. The key steps featured in this synthesis are a room temperature Cope elimination and a domino oxidation/inverse-electron demand 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of an axially chiral, yet configurationally unstable, intermediate. The work opens this previously inaccessible family of natural products for biological studies.

Abstract
An efficient method to construct enantioenriched spiro[benzofuro-cyclopenta[1,2-b]indole-indoline] scaffolds via consecutive cyclization is described here. The new scaffolds possess five successive chiral stereogenic centers and two spiroheterocycles. A range of highly enantioenriched scaffolds has been obtained with up to 93% yield, 99% ee and >19 : 1 d.r. catalyzed by Brønsted acid catalysts.

Abstract
α,β-Unsaturated amides were incorporated as viable dipolarophiles in a catalytic asymmetric 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of azomethine imines. The use of a 7-azaindoline auxiliary was essential to acquire sufficient reactivity with excellent diastereoselectivity, likely due to the chelating activation of the amide by the In(III)/bishydroxamic acid complex. Although the enantioselectivity remains unsatisfactory, this work is an important step toward the development of an asymmetric catalysis utilizing stable and low-reactive substrates.

Abstract
Chiral phosphoric acid-catalyzed biomimetic asymmetric [4 + 2] cycloaddition of ortho-alkenyl naphthols/phenols and ortho-quinone methides (o-QMs) has been demonstrated to afford various important 2,3,4-trisubstituted chromans in high yields with excellent enantio- and diastereoselectivities (up to 99% yield, 99% ee, >20:1 dr). Notably, this methodology not only enabled access to the trans-cis chiral trisubstituted chromans from 1-alkenyl 2-naphthols but also is compatible with 2-alkenyl 1-naphthols and phenols to deliver trans-trans chiral trisubstituted chromans.

Abstract
Chiral phosphoric acid-catalyzed highly enantioselective formal [3 + 2] cycloaddition reaction of azoalkenes with 3-vinylindoles has been established. Under mild conditions, the projected cycloaddition proceeded smoothly, affording a variety of 2,3-dihydropyrroles in high yields and excellent enantioselectivities, and also in a diastereospecific manner. As opposed to the common 4-atom synthons in the previous literature reports, azoalkenes served as 3-atom synthons. Besides, the observed selectivity was supported by primary theoretical calculation. The unique chemistry of azoalkenes disclosed herein will empower asymmetric synthesis of nitrogen-containing ring structural motifs in a broader context. Chiral phosphoric acid catalyzed formal [3 + 2] cycloaddition reaction 2,3-Dihydropyrroles were enantioselectively synthesized Azoalkenes served as 3-atom synthons

Abstract
The double [3 + 2]-cycloadditions between nitrile oxides and allenoates have been achieved. In the presence of DABCO combined with Et3N, 2-substituted buta-2,3-dienoates reacted with oxime chlorides to afford spirobiisoxazolines in 55-90% yields via the double 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition. Notably, the construction of double isoxazoline moieties and two chiral centers including a spiro carbon center was achieved.

Abstract
A Brønsted acid-catalyzed (4 + 3) cyclization of N, N'-cyclic azomethine imines with isatoic anhydrides has been discovered, which constructs seven-membered nitrogenous heterocyclic frameworks with overall high yields (up to 98% yield). This reaction represents a rarely reported (4 + 3) cyclization of N, N'-cyclic azomethine imines, which involves the reassembly of a C-N bond. In addition, this reaction has also accomplished the unprecedented (4 + 3) cyclization of isatoic anhydrides.

Abstract
A new catalyst-free protocol for aminomethylamination of o-hydroxystyrenes with simple aminals is described. This direct and operationally simple method provides a fundamentally novel and rapid approach for the synthesis of 1,3-diamines. This novel reaction occurs under mild reaction conditions and provides a fundamentally unique and efficient strategy for the synthesis of 1,3-diamines with good to excellent yields.

Abstract
Reported herein is a bifunctional-organocatalyst-mediated enantioselective inverse-electron-demand 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of C,N-cyclic azomethine imines with azlactones. The strategy provides concise access to enantioenriched C1-substituted tetrahydroisoquinolines featuring a pyrazolidinone scaffold. Moreover, the scalability and practical utility of this protocol was well demonstrated by employing a gram-scale reaction and some representative transformations.

Abstract
The 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of cyclic azomethine imines with 2-arylideneindene-1,3-diones in refluxing acetonitrile afforded predominately cis-1,3-diaryl-substituted spiro[indene-2,2′-pyrazolo[1,2-a]pyrazole] derivatives in good yields.
