Abstract
AbstractA metal- and base-free, robust, and convenient approach for the synthesis of isoxazoline derivatives is reported. This protocol involves 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition between in situ generated nitrile oxides from the corresponding aldoximes using [hydroxy(tosyloxy)iodo]benzene (HTIB, Koser’s reagent) and maleimides, styrene and acrylonitrile. The described methodology is very attractive as it is operationally simple, has broad scope, and does not require any base, metal, or other additives.

Abstract
The intramolecular oxidative cycloaddition reaction of alkyne- or alkene-tethered aldoximes was catalyzed efficiently by hypervalent iodine(III) species to afford the corresponding polycyclic isoxazole derivatives in up to a 94% yield. The structure of the prepared products was confirmed by various methods, including X-ray crystallography. Mechanistic study demonstrated the crucial role of hydroxy(aryl)iodonium tosylate as a precatalyst, which is generated from 2-iodobenzoic acid and m-chloroperoxybenzoic acid in the presence of a catalytic amount of p-toluenesulfonic acid.

Abstract
A metal-free, simultaneous triple C-C coupling cyclization reaction between phenacyl bromides and indoles is discovered in a highly regioselective fashion to furnish 3,5-diarylcarbazoles. DMAP is utilized as the only reagent for the unusual and rapid cyclization reaction to furnish all new carbazole compounds through installation of a great diversity of substituents. A plausible radical mechanism for the new reaction is predicted by conducting various control experiments, competitive reactions, furoindole formation, and ESI-MS analyses of the ongoing cyclization reaction.

Abstract
We report the use of XtalFluor-E ([Et2NSF2]BF4) as an alternative to POCl3 in the Vilsmeier-Haack formylation reaction of C-2-glycals. Employing a XtalFluor-E/DMF combination allowed the desired C-2-formyl glycals to be isolated in 11-90% yield. This method was extended to the synthesis of a C-2 -formylated disaccharide glycal.

Abstract
In this work, synthesis of two cross-linked polymeric systems through isoxazoline ring formation using nitrile oxide-acrylate click chemistry has been described. In the first system, styrenic block copolymer with oxime-functionalized middle block was synthesized using S,S'-bis(α,α'-dimethyl-α″-acetic acid)trithiocarbonate as chain-transfer agent using reversible addition fragmentation chain-transfer technique. This block copolymer was further utilized to prepare core cross-linked star polymers by reacting with a four-arm acrylic cross-linker by employing environment-friendly, nontoxic PhI(OAc)2-mediated "click reaction" via the formation of isoxazoline ring. In the second system, two linear styrenic block copolymers, one containing oxime and another containing acrylate group, were reacted to form a cross-linked (CS) polymeric system. Formation of cross-linked polymers and isoxazoline ring was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, gel permeation chromatography, NMR spectroscopy, and dynamic light scattering studies. Later, we also demonstrated that in aqueous medium these CS polymers produced polymeric nanoparticles (NPs), which can be used as potential carriers of hydrophobic drug molecules. The loading capacity of the hydrophobic domains has been investigated using coumarin dyes with varying hydrophobicity through steady-state and time-resolved spectroscopy studies. The polymeric NPs were also shown to successfully encapsulate a hydrophobic drug doxorubicin.

Abstract
A series of novel 3,5-disubstituted isoxazoles have been synthesized, using a new, green, and versatile "one-pot three-steps" methodology. The key step is an oxidative 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition under ultrasonic irradiation, occurring in aqueous media, and mediated by cerium (IV) ammonium nitrate (CAN). CAN is a one-electron oxidant, highly soluble in water, slightly toxic and inexpensive, that allows the in situ conversion of the intermediate aldoximes into nitrile oxide. The syntheses are highly regioselective, as illustrated by the structures of the final compounds, which have been fully assessed by spectral analyses (1H and 13C NMR, MS). This study illustrates the potency of the ultrasound activation to synthesize a set of highly functionalized heterocycles, with potential applications in biology, in short reaction times and following an eco-friendly process.

Abstract
A green, sustainable, organocatalytic, and efficient synthesis of isoxazolines from allyloximes was developed. A 2,2,2-trifluoroacetophenone-catalyzed oxidation of allyloximes, utilizing H2O2 as the green oxidant, was taken advantage of in order to introduce a cheap and environmentally friendly protocol for the synthesis of substituted isoxazolines. A variety of substitution patterns, both aromatic and aliphatic moieties, are well tolerated, leading to isoxazolines in moderate to excellent yields.

Abstract
A highly regioselective intramolecular oxy-fluorination of alkenyl oximes was achieved. This new transformation represents an efficient method for the preparation of monofluoromethyl-substituted isoxazolines. Abstract
Upon reaction with PhI(OAc)(2), α-oxo-aldoximes are oxidized to α-oxo-nitrile oxides, while α-oxo-ketoximes are converted into nitrile oxides via the oxidative cleavage of the carbonyl-imino σ bond. The nitrile oxides thus formed were trapped with norbornene or styrene in good yield. α,α'-Dioxo-ketoximes react less efficiently.

Abstract
Structurally complex and physiologically active natural products often include bicyclic and polycyclic ring systems having defined relative and absolute configuration. Approaches that allow the construction of more than one carbocyclic ring at a time have proven valuable, in particular those that allow at the same time the control of an array of new stereogenic centers. One of the most general and most widely used protocols has been the intramolecular Diels-Alder [4 + 2] cycloaddition, in which a single stereogenic center between the diene and the dienophile can control the relative and absolute configuration of the product. We report a two-step [1 + 4 + 1] procedure for bicyclic and polycyclic construction, based on the cyclization of an omega-dienyl ketone. This is complementary to, and will likely be as useful as, the intramolecular Diels-Alder cycloaddition.
