Light Down-Converter Based on Luminescent Nanofibers from the Blending of Conjugated Rod-Coil Block Copolymers and Perovskite through Electrospinning. Polymers (Basel) 2020; 12:E84. Abstract
We demonstrated a novel strategy for the preparation of light down-converter by combining rod-coil block copolymers with perovskite quantum dots (QDs) through electrospinning. Reports have shown that polymer deformability can be enhanced by incorporating a soft segment and controlled by varying the rod/coil ratio. Therefore, we first synthesized the rod-coil block copolymer through the click reaction of polyfluorene (PF) and poly(n-butyl acrylate) (PBA). Next, the CsPbBr3@PF8k-b-PBA12k composite fibers were fabricated by blending perovskite through electrospinning. Optical spectral evidence demonstrated the success of the strategy, as light down-converters were prepared through the controlled variance of QD/polymer ratios to achieve tunable color and stretchability. This result reveals the potential of using rod-coil block copolymers to fabricate color-tunable perovskite light down-converters.

Abstract
We apply the string method to the self-consistent mean-field theory framework of the rod-coil block copolymer system to calculate the minimum energy pathways in the rearrangement transitions of lamellae and cylinders with different orientations under certain epitaxial growth relationship. Metastable phases appearing in the reordering transition pathway tend to form the structure at low χN side of the order-order transition boundary compared with the initial phase. In particular, for complex network, metastable phases, such as single gyroid and perforated lamellae, need to select a rearrangement transition between lamellae or cylinders near the order-disorder transition boundary with the same epitaxial growth relationship but different orientations. It is confirmed that this strategy for obtaining complex metastable phases by rational design of rearrangement transition between specific phases in the phase diagram can be applied to a wide range of χN as well as the coil-coil block copolymer system. We further investigate the rearrangement transition behavior combining with the analysis of contribution from the free energy, entropy, degree of mixing between different blocks, and the average orientation degree of rods during the phase transitions. Based on this mechanism, we have developed a target-directed design strategy for constructing self-assembled metastable structures of rod-coil block copolymers.

Abstract
An amphiphilic hyperbranched poly(aryl ether ketone)- graft-poly(ethylene glycol) (HPAEK- graft-PEG) rod–coil copolymer was synthesized by grafting linear PEG onto hydroxyl-terminated HPAEK (OH-HPAEK). The molecular structure, the number-average molecular weight and the thermal properties of HPAEK- graft-PEG were characterized by proton nuclear magnetic resonance and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopies, gel permeation chromatography, differential scanning calorimetry, and thermogravimetric analysis, respectively. The self-assembly behaviors of HPAEK- graft-PEG in the mixed solvents were investigated by transmission electron microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. The results demonstrated that the selective solvent in the used mixed solvents exerted remarkable influence on the morphology of the resulting micelles. When the mixed solvents were water/tetrahydrofuran (THF), trichloromethane/THF, and toluene/THF, that is, with the decrease of the selective solvents in polarity, HPAEK- graft-PEG could self-assemble into the regular microspheres with obvious core–shell structure, the similar quadrilateral-shaped micelles with the dimension of about 20 nm and the large complicated clew-shaped micelles, as well as the irregular large compound micelles, respectively. It is worth mentioning that the similar quadrilateral-shaped micelles were different from the toroidal micelles reported already, which had relatively obvious “angle”. The phenomenon may be ascribed that the rigid characteristic of rod HAPEK segment was conducive to the maintenance of the metastable state.

Abstract
A series of poly(p-phenylene vinylene) (PPV) copolymers functionalized with hole-transport and electrochemically active carbazole units as pendant moieties is reported. These polymers exhibit photoluminescence properties by virtue of the PPV analogous backbone. They were also designed as precursor polymer bearing the electroactive carbazole group to form conjugated polymer network (CPN) films by electrodeposition. The electrochemical polymerization of the pendant units eventually lead to a dual property electro-optically active thin film - photoluminescence (PL) behavior that can be attenuated with CPN formation, and a reversible doping and dedoping processes at controlled potentials that lead to an electrochromic behavior. This reveals the ability to incorporate complementary optical and electro-optical properties within the same film using the CPN approach. It should be possible to design and synthesize other PPV π-conjugated polymers with efficient pendant hole-transport groups exhibiting tunable PL and electrochromism with cross-linking.
