Abstract
As the research of photonic electronics thrives, the enhanced efficacy from an optic unit cell can considerably improve the performance of an optoelectronic device. In this regard, organic phototransistor memory with a fast programming/readout and a distinguished memory ratio produces an advantageous outlook to fulfill the demand for advanced applications. In this study, a hydrogen-bonded supramolecular electret is introduced into the phototransistor memory, which comprises porphyrin dyes, meso-tetra(4-aminophenyl)porphine, meso-tetra(p-hydroxyphenyl)porphine, and meso-tetra(4-carboxyphenyl)porphine (TCPP), and insulated polymers, poly(4-vinylpyridine) and poly(4-vinylphenol) (PVPh). To combine the optical absorption of porphyrin dyes, dinaphtho[2,3-b:2',3'-f]thieno[3,2-b]thiophene (DNTT) is selected as a semiconducting channel. The porphyrin dyes serve as the ambipolar trapping moiety, while the insulated polymers form a barrier to stabilize the trapped charges by forming hydrogen-bonded supramolecules. We find that the hole-trapping capability of the device is determined by the electrostatic potential distribution in the supramolecules, whereas the electron-trapping capability and the surface proton doping originated from hydrogen bonding and interfacial interactions. Among them, PVPh:TCPP with an optimal hydrogen bonding pattern in the supramolecular electret produces the highest memory ratio of 1.12 × 108 over 104 s, which is the highest performance among the reported achievements. Our results suggest that the hydrogen-bonded supramolecular electret can enhance the memory performance by fine-tuning their bond strength and cast light on a potential pathway to future photonic electronics.

Abstract
A series of side-chain liquid crystalline polymers P4VP(CN-DBE)x , where x is the molar ratio of cyanostilbene (CN-DBE) to poly(4-vinylpyridine) (P4VP) repeating unit, was synthesized based on the intermolecular hydrogen bonding between P4VP and CN-DBE. Their luminescent property, liquid crystalline structure and photo-thermo-electric property were elucidated using photoluminescence spectra, X-ray diffraction, thermal imaging and thermoelectric experiments. With the increase of x, the supramolecular system can be changed from lamellar structure to hexagonal columnar structure. Moreover, the P4VP(CN-DBE)x polymer with columnar structure exhibits more efficient photothermal effect. The temperature of P4VP(CN-DBE)0.6 can rise to 130 °C within 10 s under the irradiation of ultraviolet lamp. In addition, the supramolecular system possesses unique photo-thermo-electric conversion ability, and 25 mA current can be detected in the circuit coupled with the thermoelectric module. This work broadens the potential applications of hydrogen-bonded polymer, and provides a simple and facile strategy to prepare liquid crystalline polymers with photo-thermo-electric property.

Abstract
In this paper, we identify the modifications needed in a recently developed generic coarse-grained (CG) model that captured directional interactions in polymers to specifically represent two exemplary hydrogen bonding polymer chemistries-poly(4-vinylphenol) and poly(2-vinylpyridine). We use atomistically observed monomer-level structures (e.g., bond, angle and torsion distribution) and chain structures (e.g., end-to-end distance distribution and persistence length) of poly(4-vinylphenol) and poly(2-vinylpyridine) in an explicitly represented good solvent (tetrahydrofuran) to identify the appropriate modifications in the generic CG model in implicit solvent. For both chemistries, the modified CG model is developed based on atomistic simulations of a single 24-mer chain. This modified CG model is then used to simulate longer (36-mer) and shorter (18-mer and 12-mer) chain lengths and compared against the corresponding atomistic simulation results. We find that with one to two simple modifications (e.g., incorporating intra-chain attraction, torsional constraint) to the generic CG model, we are able to reproduce atomistically observed bond, angle and torsion distributions, persistence length, and end-to-end distance distribution for chain lengths ranging from 12 to 36 monomers. We also show that this modified CG model, meant to reproduce atomistic structure, does not reproduce atomistically observed chain relaxation and hydrogen bond dynamics, as expected. Simulations with the modified CG model have significantly faster chain relaxation than atomistic simulations and slower decorrelation of formed hydrogen bonds than in atomistic simulations, with no apparent dependence on chain length.

Abstract
Supramolecular thermotropic ionic liquid crystals (ILCs) with hexagonal and lamellar phases were fabricated by the self-assembly of zwitterionic ionic liquids, which were formed by 3-(1-alkyl-3-imidazolio) propanesulfonate with different alkyl chain lengths C nIPS ( n = 12, 14, 16) and 3,4,5-tris(dodecyloxy)benzoic acid (TDBA) based on intermolecular electrostatic interactions. The phase behaviors of ILCs were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), and polarized optical microscopy (POM). The highly ordered and well-defined microstructure of ILCs can be considered to be proton pathways and to radically improve the ionic conductivity, suggesting the induction of proton conduction through a hopping mechanism.

Abstract
Polymer structures with tunable symmetry and sizes are desired for applications such as lithography, filtration membranes, and separation. Here we report the self-assembled supramolecular hexagonal columnar (ΦH) structures with tunable lattice size varying from 5 to 7 nm by constructing hydrogen-bonded copolymers bearing poly(4-vinylpyridine) (P4VP) and two dendritic molecular additives, 1-[4'-(3″,4″,5″-tridecyloxybenzoyloxy)phenyleneoxycarbonyl]-3-[(4″-hydroxyphenyl)oxycarbonyl]benzene (12CBP) and 4-hydroxyphenyl (3,4,5-tridecyloxy)benzoate (12CTB). Despite the distinct molecular size difference between 12CBP and 12CTB, the resulting ternary supramolecular copolymers, P4VP(12CBP)x(12CTB)y, possess a homogeneous ΦH phase at x ≥ 0.1 and y ≥ 0.2. Each column is constructed with P4VP as the backbone tethered with mixed side chains. The column diameter is between the size of the corresponding P4VP(12CBP)x+y and P4VP(12CTB)x+y and could be easily tuned by varying x and y. The enhancement of ΦH in supramolecular copolymers is attributed to the entropy effect of the mixed side chain and enthalpy effect from hydrogen bonding interaction of the P4VP backbone and two molecules (12CBP and 12CTB).

Abstract
Infrared spectra were collected on mixtures of ethylene glycol (EG) and polyethylene glycol 600 (PEG600) as a function of weight fraction from pure EG to pure PEG600. In this paper, it will be shown that while the OH vibrational contribution drastically reduces its center frequency from 3450 cm-1 to 3300 cm-1 in the weight fraction range 0-25%, the displacement of the mixture spectral features of the mixtures from ideal behavior, i.e., in the absence of interaction, shows the presence of a non-ideal mixing process. Furthermore, wavelet cross-correlation analysis of the registered pairs of spectra and of the intramolecular O-H stretching contributions reveals how the addition of a small amount of pure EG to PEG600 dramatically influences the structural properties of the polymeric matrix, owing to an increase the intermolecular connectivity. In particular, the wavelet cross-correlation parameters, evaluated between each pair of the registered data as a function of weight fraction, in a linear-logarithmic plot, reveals an inflection point for a weight fraction of about 25% of EG, which confirms that, within the three-dimensional networks of hydrogen-bonded EG-PEG600 molecules, a key role is played by EG in determining an increase in the hydrogen-bond network density.
