Abstract
Tri(t-butyl)phosphine and terminal alkynes undergo 1,2-phosphorus-migrative [3 + 2] cycloaddition in the presence of a proton source under photocatalytic conditions. The reaction exhibits broad functional group tolerance and affords substituted cyclic phosphonium salts, which are amenable to further derivatization by Wittig olefination. Theoretical studies suggest that the phosphorus 1,2-migration of a β-phosphonioalkyl radical proceeds through a phosphine radical cation-alkene complex as a pseudointermediate, and the two fragments in the intermediate are bound to each other through multiple noncovalent interactions.

Abstract
Deuterated organic compounds have become increasingly important in many areas; however, it remains challenging to install deuterium site-selectively to unactivated aliphatic positions with control of the degree of deuteration. Here, we report a Cu-catalyzed degree-controlled deacylative deuteration of diverse alkyl groups with the methylketone (acetyl) moiety as a traceless activating group. The use of N-methylpicolino-hydrazonamide (MPHA) promotes efficient aromatization-driven C-C cleavage. Mono-, di-, and trideuteration at specific sites can be selectively achieved. The reaction is redox-neutral with broad functional group tolerance. The utility of this method has been demonstrated in forming a complete set of deuterated ethyl groups, merging with the Diels-Alder reaction, a net devinylative deuteration, and the synthesis of the d2-analogue of Austedo.

Abstract
An efficient and highly chemo- and stereoselective copper-catalyzed hydroamination of oxa- and azabenzonorbornadienes with various pyrazole derivatives is described. This catalytic process is promoted by the presence of N-heterocyclic carbene ligands and KOt-Bu under mild and simple reaction conditions, and allows for the direct synthesis of new and versatile functionalized oxa(aza)benzonorbornyl pyrazoles starting from readily available oxa(aza)bicyclic alkenes. The synthetic utility of this method was demonstrated by the transformation of the obtained products into pyrazolyl-substituted naphthalenes.

Abstract
Rearrangement reactions, one of the most significant transformations in organic chemistry, play an irreplaceable role in improving synthetic efficiency and molecular complexity. Concomitant cleavage and reconstruction of chemical bonds can display the great artistry and the glamour of synthetic chemistry. Over the past century, ionic rearrangement reactions, in particular those involving cationic pathways, have represented most of the research. Alongside the renaissance of radical chemistry, radical-mediated rearrangements have recently seen a rapid increase of attention from the chemical community. Many new radical rearrangements that extensively reveal the migratory behaviour of functional groups have been unveiled in the last decade. This Review provides a comprehensive perspective on the area from the past to present achievements, and brings up the prospects that may inspire colleagues to develop more useful synthetic tools based on radical rearrangements.

Abstract
Longeracemine, a member of the Daphniphyllum family of alkaloids contains a novel carbon framework featuring a highly functionalized 2-azabicyclo[2.2.1]heptane core as part of an overall 5/6/5/5/6/5 skeleton. A synthetic intermediate containing the core of longeracemine has been efficiently prepared by employing a stereoselective SmI2-mediated cascade reaction to advance a 7-azabicyclo[2.2.1]heptadiene to a 2-azabicyclo[2.2.1]heptene that is functionally poised for conversion to the natural product.

Abstract
Tandem deoxygenation–neophyl-type radical rearrangement–electrophile trapping using xanthates from 7-azabenzonorbornadienes gives 3-exo-substituted 2-aza-5,6-benzonorbornenes, which in some cases undergo isomerisation to (aminomethyl)indenes. The starting xanthates are accessible in good yields and high enantiomeric ratios via asymmetric hydroboration of (aryne/pyrrole-derived) 7-azabenzonorbornadienes. Oxidation (using RuO4) and Birch reduction of the 2-aza-5,6-benzonorbornenes provide access to substituted pyrrolidines and tetrahydroindenes, respectively.

Abstract
Radical rearrangements are important transformations in organic synthesis. The stabilisation of alpha-nitrogen radicals is shown to be a useful effect for the control of radical rearrangements and is applied to the synthesis of a variety of azabicyclic frameworks. The utility of this method is illustrated in the synthesis of bioactive targets.

Abstract
Radical thiol additions to 7-azanorbornadienes give 7-thio-substituted 2-azanorbornenes and Barton deoxygenations of 7-azabenzonorbornanols give 2-azabenzonorbornanes. The processes both involve novel nitrogen-directed radical rearrangements. The kinetics and mechanisms of the reactions are also discussed.
