Abstract
A nickel-catalyzed reductive tandem cyclization of the elaborated β-bromo acetal with a dibenzoxepin scaffold was invented to strategically construct the remaining two rings in linoxepin. The generated diasterodivergent intermediates could be easily converted to both enantiomers of this unique cyclolignan molecule via facile oxidations, thus realizing enantiodivergent total synthesis of linoxepin for the first time.

Abstract
The amide functional group is resonance stabilised and direct reaction with amines is known to be difficult. Facile amide exchange reactions would enable the synthesis of important new amide based molecules, therefore transamidation reactions represent an important step in this direction. In order to ensure a transamidation reaction takes place, special requirements and conditions are required. According to the different structural characteristics of the carbox-amide group and types of activation, the most relevant examples of this reaction will be reviewed.

Abstract
LiNH2BH3-promoted reductive opening of 8-substituted phenylglycinol-derived oxazolopiperidone lactams leads to enantiopure 4-substituted-5-aminopentanols, which are used as starting building blocks in the synthesis of the Haliclona alkaloids haliclorensin C, haliclorensin, and halitulin (formal). The starting lactams are easily accessible by a cyclocondensation reaction of (R)-phenylglycinol with racemic γ-subtituted δ-oxoesters, in a process that involves a dynamic kinetic resolution.

Abstract
Three new alkaloids, designated isohalitulin (4), haliclorensin B (5), and haliclorensin C (6), were isolated from two specimens of the Madagascan sponge Haliclona tulearensis, collected at two locations in Salary Bay, north of Tulear. Their structures were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic means. Alkaloids 4-6 exhibited mild toxicity in the brine shrimp test.

Abstract
With the catalysis of CuI/N,N'-dimethylethylenediamine, intramolecular C-N coupling between sulfonamides and vinyl halides was successfully implemented, leading to the efficient synthesis of 5-, 6-, 7-, and even 8-membered heterocyclic enamines in both exo and endo modes. The bicyclic enamines thus formed provided a convenient entry to the corresponding 9- to 12-membered lactams by oxidative C=C bond cleavage.

Abstract
A novel ring-expansion protocol is based on the conjugate additions of cyclic alpha-vinylamines to (p-toluenesulfonyl)ethyne, followed by aza-Cope rearrangements of the resulting zwitterions, to afford medium and large-ring cyclic amines under remarkably mild conditions.
