Abstract
Abstract7-Allylindolines are valuable synthons for designing biologically active molecular libraries. Lewis acid catalyzed amino-Claisen rearrangement provides a one pot synthetic entry to these heteroarenes. In this context, Zinc chloride (ZnCl2)–N,N-dimethylformamide system efficiently catalyzed amino-Claisen rearrangements of 1-N-allylindolines to 7-allylindolines. The rearrangement is influenced by stereoelectronic effects of substituents present in 1-N-allylindolines. The substrates containing electron donating functionalities underwent rearrangement at lower temperature than substrates with electron withdrawing functional groups. The regioselectivity of the process is governed by the substitution pattern on allyl moiety in 1-N-allylindoline as well as ZnCl2 catalyst loading in the reaction system.

Abstract
We have used isoxazolo[3,4-b]pyridin-3(1H)-one and isoxazolo[3,4-b]quinolin-3(1H)-one as "masked" heterocyclic hydroxylamines to generate Paal-Knorr intermediates of the Trofimov pyrrole synthesis. The previously inaccessible intermediates, trapped by ethyl propiolate, were obtained by reacting corresponding isoxazolones with 4-fold excess of ethyl propiolate under basic conditions at ambient temperature, and characterized by means of IR and NMR spectroscopic data as well as by single crystal X-ray analysis. Quantum chemical calculations of a [3,3]sigmatropic rearrangement of the N,O-divinyl hydroxylamines to corresponding imino-aldehydes (Paal-Knorr intermediates) revealed that this reaction proceeds via chairlike transition state and is exothermic.

Abstract
A new cascade bicyclization of o-alkynyl aldehydes with thiazolium salts is described, in which 25 examples of densely functionalized indeno[2,1-b]pyrroles are achieved in a functional-group-compatible manner. Thiazole carbenes generated in situ from thiazolium salts play dual roles as reaction partners and as NHC catalysts. The synthetic utility of these bicyclization reactions results in subsequent C-C bond-forming events to rapidly build up molecular complexity.

Abstract
The Cu-catalyzed condensation of ketimines and diazodicarbonyl compounds enables the rapid and regiocontrolled synthesis of pharmaceutically relevant multisubstituted pyrroles.
In the presence of a copper(ii) catalyst, enolizable imines bearing various N-substituents and α-diazo-β-ketoesters undergo denitrogenative and dehydrative condensation to afford highly substituted pyrroles in moderate to good yields with exclusive regioselectivity. The reaction likely involves nucleophilic addition of the imine nitrogen to a copper carbenoid, tautomerization of the resulting azomethine ylide to an α-enaminoketone, and a subsequent enamine–ketone cyclocondensation. With Yb(OTf)3 as a unique cocatalyst, α-diazo-β-diketones also participate in the same condensation reaction. The present reaction is applicable to acyclic, exocyclic, and endocyclic imines with tolerance of a broad range of functional groups and heterocyclic moieties, thus opening a new convenient route for the synthesis of the lamellarin family of natural products.

Abstract
A novel synthetic strategy toward highly fluorinated BODIPY dyes with exceptional photostabilities relying on sustainable gold catalysis has been developed. A key to the tailored pyrrole precursors is the gold catalysis performed in ionic liquids as the reaction medium, allowing a facile recycling of the catalysts. The dyes prepared are well-matching with the spectral windows of popular rhodamine dyes and possess high brightness while showing a distinctly higher photostability than the rhodamines especially in aprotic solvents.

Abstract
Development of an efficient synthesis of fully substituted pyrroles via a sequential as a catalyst. The propargylation/amination/cycloisomerization was accomplished using AgSbF6 one-pot three-component reaction of propargylic alcohols, 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds, and primary amines proceeds at a mild temperature, which prevents the formation of furan by-product. The reaction was also successfully applied to the more basic aliphatic amines with the addition of 1.1 eq. of acetic acid.

Abstract
The synthesis of 1,4-enamino ketones has been achieved through the [3,3]-rearrangement of dialkenylhydroxylamines generated from the addition of N-alkenylnitrones to electron-deficient allenes. The mild conditions required for this reaction, and the simultaneous installation of a fluorenyl imine N-protecting group as a consequence of the rearrangement, avoid spontaneous cyclization of the 1,4-enamino ketones to form the corresponding pyrroles and allow for the isolation and controlled divergent functionalization of these reactive intermediates. The optimization, scope, and tolerance of the new method are discussed with demonstrations of the utility of the products for the synthesis of pyrroles, 1,4-diones, and furans.

Abstract
The synthesis of α-imino aldehydes has been achieved through the thermal [1,3]-rearrangement of O-alkenyl benzophenone oximes. A copper-mediated C-O bond coupling between benzophenone oxime and alkenyl boronic acids provides facile access to the required O-alkenyl oximes and a Horner-Wadsworth-Emmons olefination can be applied to the α-imino aldehyde products to give γ-imino-α,β-unsaturated esters. The scope of the method is described and mechanistic experiments are discussed.

Abstract
The oxyarylation of alkenyl boronic acids with N-arylbenzhydroxamic acids has been achieved under both copper-mediated and copper-catalyzed conditions to provide access to interrupted Fischer-indole intermediates. This transformation is believed to proceed through a copper-promoted C-O bond forming event followed by a [3,3] rearrangement. The scope of the method is described and mechanistic experiments are discussed.

Abstract
A novel gold-catalyzed method for the regioselective synthesis of highly substituted pyrroles directly from oximes and alkynes was developed via independent optimization of two key steps of the process. Importantly, a cationic gold(I) species was shown to activate multiple steps along the reaction pathway and therefore act as a multifaceted catalyst. Initial gold-promoted addition of the oxime oxygen to the activated alkyne afforded the O-vinyloxime in situ. The O-vinyloxime was subsequently transformed into the pyrrole via a gold-catalyzed tautomerization, [3,3]-sigmatropic rearrangement, and cyclodehydration process. Notably, this method provides a functional group handle in the form of an ester at the 3/4-position for further exploitation. The proposed mechanistic pathway is supported by a novel application of the Huisgen cycloaddition click reaction, which was used to probe the relative stability of substituted O-vinyloximes. The intermediacy of N-alkenylhydroxylamine O-vinyl ethers and imino ketones or imino aldehydes along the reaction pathway were determined by high-temperature (1)H, (2)H{(1)H}, and (13)C{(1)H} NMR experiments. X-ray crystallographic evidence was used to further support the mechanistic hypothesis.

Abstract
Highly functionalized alkenes can be prepared through phosphine-catalyzed β'-umpolung additions of nucleophiles (carbon-, oxygen-, nitrogen-, and sulfur-centered) to activated α-disubstituted allenes, providing many potentially useful synthetic intermediates in good to excellent yields, often with high levels of stereoselectivity for the product olefin geometry. Various substitution patterns around the allene are compatible with the process, showcasing the synthetic utility of allenes under the conditions of nucleophilic phosphine catalysis.

Abstract
Privileged medicinal scaffolds based on the structures of tetra- and pentasubstituted 2-aminopyrroles were prepared via one-pot multicomponent reactions of structurally diverse aldehydes and N-(aryl-, hetaryl-, alkylsulfonamido)acetophenones with activated methylene compounds. This methodology was used in a four-step synthesis of alkaloids rigidins A, B, C, and D in overall yields of 61%, 58%, 60%, and 53%, respectively. Of these, rigidins B, C, and D were synthesized for the first time.
