Abstract
The asymmetric Rh-catalyzed 1,4-addition of aryl/heteroaryl moieties to α,β-unsaturated esters was achieved in high diastereoselectivity via the coparticipation of a P-chiral phosphinyl moiety at Cβ to the prochiral center and (R)- or (S)-Difluorphos. This methodology expands the synthetic toolbox available for the preparation of structurally diverse chiral phosphinyl peptides.

Abstract
Under solvent-free conditions and at 80 °C, a DMAP- or imidazole-mediated clean and rapid conversion of cyclic Morita-Baylis-Hillman (MBH) acetates into the corresponding γ-keto allyl phosphonates in 70-93% yields is described herein. This allylic nucleophilic substitution works well with primary and secondary acetates bearing, at the β'-position, linear or branched alkyl groups and aryl groups.

Regioselective addition–elimination of Morita–Baylis–Hillman adducts with 2-naphthol or phenol catalyzed by functionalized ionic liquids: a direct strategy to construct functional alkenes. Abstract
A highly regioselective addition–elimination of Morita–Baylis–Hillman adducts promoted by base ionic liquids (0.5 mol%) was reported to afford a variety of functional alkenes in excellent yields (up to 99%). This protocol provides a new method to access functional alkenes directly. Recycled base ionic liquids could be reused at least five times and the isolated yield of the product was almost consistent after five runs.

Abstract
A stereoselective allylic alkylation of isatin-derived Morita-Baylis-Hillman (MBH) carbonates with nitroalkanes has been developed. In the presence of 10 mol % β-isocupreidine (β-ICD), 3,3'-disubstituted oxindoles were prepared with moderate diastereoselectivities and excellent enantioselectivities.
