Abstract
Arynes hold significance for the efficient fusion of (hetero) arenes with diverse substrates, advancing the construction of complex molecular frameworks. Employing multiple equivalents of arynes is particularly effective in the rapid formation of polycyclic cores found in optoelectronic materials and bioactive compounds. However, the inherent reactivity of arynes often leads to side reactions, yielding unanticipated products and underlining the importance of a detailed investigation into the use of multiple arynes to fine-tune their reactivity. This review centers on methodologies and syntheses in organic reactions involving multiple arynes, categorizing based on mechanisms like cycloadditions, σ-bond insertions, nucleophilic additions, and ene reactions, and discusses aryne polymerization. The categorization based on these mechanisms includes two primary approaches: the first entails multiple aryne engagement within a single step while the second approach involves using a single equivalent of aryne sequentially across multiple steps, with both requiring strict reactivity control to ensure precise aryne participation in each respective step. Additionally, the review provides an in-depth analysis of the selection of aryne precursors, organized chronologically and by activation strategy, offering a comprehensive background that supports the main theme of multiple aryne utilization. The expectation remains that this comprehensive review will be invaluable in designing advanced syntheses engaging multiple arynes.

Abstract
We report here a three-component, Cu(I)-catalyzed hexadehydro-Diels-Alder (HDDA) benzyne 1,2-difunctionalization reaction. This protocol allowed the introduction of two different carbon-based substituents onto the in situ-generated benzyne. These substituents were terminal monoynes or diynes partnered with propargylic, benzylic, or allylic chlorides. An example of a sequential HDDA reaction is demonstrated using the product of a 1,3-diyne and a propargylic halide, itself a newly created HDDA precursor.

Abstract
Benzynes formed by heating a suitable triyne (or tetrayne) substrate are shown to react with in situ generated alkynyl copper species. The latter are compatible with the polyyne substrates and two types of chemistries have been achieved: (i) 1-bromo-1-alkynes efficiently undergo net bromoalkynylation of the (unsymmetrical) benzynes and (ii) in situ generated alkynylcopper species give rise to hydroalkynylation products. The regiochemical preferences of these two modes of reaction are complementary to one another with respect to the position of alkynyl substituent in the final products.

Abstract
A copper complex has proven to be a potent catalyst for forming a C-B bond via diborylation of arynes and alkynes, affording vic-diborylarenes and vic-diborylalkenes with high efficiency. A boryl-substituted organocopper species, which is intermediately generated in the diborylation, has been found to be captured by a tin or a carbon electrophile, leading to three-component borylstannylation or carboboration, in which C-B and C-Sn (or C) bonds are constructed simultaneously. Furthermore, reducing the Lewis acidity of the boron center with 1,8-diaminonaphthalene decisively alters the regiochemical behavior of the borylcopper species, enabling the installation of a boryl moiety to occur at an internal carbon of terminal alkynes in borylstannylation and protoboration. Copper catalysis for C-Sn and C-Si bond-forming processes via distannylation, hydrostannylation and silylstannylation, as well as silver catalysis for a C-B bond-forming reaction, is also described.

Abstract
A S-O bond insertion reaction of sulfoxides with arynes is reported. This reaction represents a rare instance of semipolar single bond insertion in aryne chemistry. The study of mechanism indicates that a sulfur ylide triggered by aryne is the key intermediate, which further transfers its methylene group to carbonyl compounds to give epoxides and thioethers through a sequential process.

Abstract
A palladium-catalyzed three-component coupling involving in situ generated arynes, terminal alkynes, and vinyl cyclopropane dicarboxylate has been developed. The process demonstrates the first example of aryne chemistry combined with the ring opening of vinyl cyclopropanes. This efficient method using readily available starting materials generates two new carbon-carbon bonds in one pot.

Abstract
The palladium-catalyzed annulation of arynes by substituted o-halobenzamides produces N-substituted phenanthridinones in good yields. This methodology provides this important heterocyclic ring system in a single step by simultaneous C-C and C-N bond formation, under relatively mild reaction conditions, and tolerates a variety of functional groups.

Abstract
Two sets of conditions have been developed for a base-mediated, transition-metal-free alkynylation of aryl chlorides that proceeds via benzyne intermediates. The first set of conditions involves the use of TMPLi base in a pentane/THF mixture at 25 °C. The second set involves use of a metal alkoxide base in dioxane at elevated temperature. Reasonable functional group tolerance has been observed. Fluoro, trifluoromethyl, silyl, cyano, and alcohol functionalities are compatible with the reaction conditions.
