Abstract
Silanones (OSiR2), a heavier congener of ketones (R2CO), are highly reactive species that are readily converted to oligomeric siloxane (O-SiR2)n. Coordination of silanones to the transition-metal fragments to afford silanone-coordinated complexes is a reliable silanone stabilization method. Recently, our group reported the synthesis, structures, and reactivity of dimesityl-substituted silanone complexes Cp*(OC)2M{OSiMes2(L)}(SiMe3) (M = W, Mo, L: Lewis base, Cp*: η5-C5Me5, Mes: 2,4,6-Me3C6H2). Herein, to investigate the effect of substituents on the silicon atom during the formation of a silanone complex, we demonstrated the use of Mes and smaller Me groups. As a result, the formation of Mes(Me)-substituted silanone molybdenum complex Cp*(OC)2Mo{OSiMes(Me)(py)}(SiMe3) (5b, py: pyridine) was suggested, the silanone tungsten complex Cp*(OC)2W{OSiMes(Me)(DMAP)}(SiMe3) (4a, DMAP: 4-(dimethylamino)pyridine) was obtained, and a dimethyl-substituted disiloxanyloxy(dioxo) complex Cp*(O)2W(OSiMe2OSiMe3) (9) was formed. The reaction of 4a with PMe3 proceeded via the elimination of DMAP and migration of the SiMe3 group to the oxygen atom of the silanone ligand to afford Cp*(OC)2W(SiMes(Me)OSiMe3)(PMe3) (11a). The Mo complex Cp*(OC)2Mo(SiMes(Me)OSiMe3)(PMe3) (11b) was produced by the reaction of Cp*(OC)2Mo{SiMes(Me)}(SiMe3) (7b) with pyridine-N-oxide in the presence of PMe3.

Abstract
Air- and moisture-stable heterobimetallic tetrahedral clusters [Cp(CO)2 MSiR]2 (M=Mo or W; R=SitBu3 ) were isolated from the reaction of N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) stabilized silyl(silylidene) metal complexes Cp(CO)2 M=Si(SitBu3 )NHC with a mild Lewis acid (BPh3 ). Alternatively, treatment of the NHC-stabilized silylidene complex Cp(CO)2 W=Si(SitBu3 )NHC with stronger Lewis acids such as AlCl3 or B(C6 F5 )3 resulted in the reversible coordination of the Lewis acid to one of the carbonyl ligands. Computational investigations revealed that the dimerization of the intermediate metal silylidyne (M≡Si) complex to a tetrahedral cluster instead of a planar four-membered ring is due to steric bulk.

Abstract
A heterobimetallic PtPd3 complex supported by three bridging diphenylsilylene ligands, [Pt{Pd(dmpe)}3 (μ3 -SiPh2 )3 ] (1, dmpe=1,2-bis(dimethylphosphino)ethane), has been synthesized from mononuclear Pd and Pt complexes. The hexagonal core composed of Pt, Pd, and Si atoms is slightly larger than that of the tetrapalladium complex, [Pd{Pd(dmpe)}3 (μ3 -SiPh2 )3 ] (2). Reaction of PhSiH3 with complex 1 in the presence and absence of Ph2 SiH2 results in the formation of a tetranuclear complex with silyl and hydride ligands at the Pt center, [PtH(SiPh2 H){Pd(dmpe)}3 (μ3 -SiHPh)3 ] (3), and an octanuclear complex, [{Pt{Pd(dmpe)}3 (μ3 -SiHPh)3 }2 (κ2 -dmpe)] (5), respectively. Both M-Si (M=Pt, Pd) bond lengths and the 29 Si NMR chemical shifts of 1 and 2 are located between those of mononuclear late transition-metal complexes with a silylene ligand and complexes with donor-stabilized silylene ligands. CuI and AgI adducts of 1 and 2, formulated as [M(μ-M'I){Pd(dmpe)}3 (μ3 -SiPh2 )3 ] (M=Pt, Pd; M'=Cu, Ag), undergo elimination of CuI (AgI) and regenerate the tetrametallic complexes upon heating or addition of a chelating diphosphine. Elimination of AgI from 2-AgI occurs more rapidly than elimination of CuI from 2-CuI, as determined from the results of kinetics experiments.

Abstract
Reaction of the donor-stabilized silylene 1 with [Cr(CO)6], [Mo(CO)6], [W(CO)6], or [Fe(CO)5] leads to the formation of the transition-metal silylene complexes 2-5, which contain five-coordinate silicon(II) moieties with Si-M bonds (M = Cr, Mo, W, Fe). These compounds were characterized by NMR spectroscopic studies in the solid state and in solution and by crystal structure analyses. These experimental investigations were complemented by computational studies to gain insight into the bonding situation of 2-5. The nature of the Si-M bonds is best described as a single bond.
