Abstract
Styrenes have been functionalized to produce styrenyl dithiocarbamates by a one-pot two-step procedure without using any metal catalysts. Styrene was transformed into a bromo-derivative, which undergoes a domino nucleophilic substitution followed by elimination in the presence of a dithiocarbamate anion and triethylamine to produce trans-styrenyl dithiocarbamates exclusively. The reaction shows a wide substrate scope and good yields of products.

Abstract
The incorporation of dithiocarbamate ligands in the preparation of metal complexes is largely prompted by the versatility of this molecule. Fascinating coordination chemistry can be obtained from the study of such metal complexes ranging from their preparation, the solid-state properties, solution behavior as well as their applications as bioactive materials and luminescent compounds, to name a few. In this overview, the dithiocarbamate complexes of platinum-group elements form the focus of the discussion. The structural aspects of these complexes will be discussed based upon the intriguing findings obtained from their solid- (crystallographic) and solution-state (NMR) studies. At the end of this review, the applications of platinum-group metal complexes will be discussed.

Abstract
The versatile rhenium complex [ReCl(CO)3(bpyC[triple bond, length as m-dash]CH)] (HC[triple bond, length as m-dash]Cbpy = 5-ethynyl-2,2'-bipyridine) is used to generate a series of bimetallic complexes through the hydrometallation of [MHCl(CO)(BTD)(PPh3)2] (M = Ru, Os; BTD = 2,1,3-benzothiadiazole). The ruthenium complex [Ru{CH[double bond, length as m-dash]CH-bpyReCl(CO)3}Cl(BTD)(CO)(PPh3)2] was characterised structurally. Ligand exchange reactions with bifunctional linkers bearing oxygen and sulfur donors provide access to tetra- and pentametallic complexes such as [{M{CH[double bond, length as m-dash]CH-bpyReCl(CO)3}(CO)(PPh3)2}2(S2CNC4H8NCS2)] and Fe[C5H4CO2M{CH[double bond, length as m-dash]CH-bpyReCl(CO)3}(CO)(PPh3)2]2. The effect of the group 8 metal on the photophysical properties of the rhenium centre was investigated using the complexes [Ru{CH[double bond, length as m-dash]CH-bpyReCl(CO)3}Cl(BTD)(CO)(PPh3)2] and [M{CH[double bond, length as m-dash]CH-bpyReCl(CO)3}{S2P(OEt)2}(CO)(PPh3)2] (M = Ru, Os). This revealed the quenching of the rhenium-based emission in favour of weak radiative processes based on the Ru and Os centres. The potential for exploiting this effect is illustrated by the reaction of [Ru{CH[double bond, length as m-dash]CH-bpyReCl(CO)3}Cl(CO)(BTD)(PPh3)2] with carbon monoxide, which results in a 5-fold fluorescence enhancement in the dicarbonyl product, [Ru{CH[double bond, length as m-dash]CH-bpyReCl(CO)3}Cl(CO)2(PPh3)2], as the quenching effect is disrupted.

Abstract
New Sb(III) and Bi(III) ferrocenyl dithiocarbamate complexes viz. [Sb(FcCH2Bzdtc)3] (Sb) and [Bi(FcCH2Bzdtc)3] (Bi) (Fc=C5H5FeC5H4-; Bz=C6H5CH2-) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, (1)H and (13)C NMR spectroscopies. The optical, electrochemical and photovoltaic properties of the synthesized complexes were investigated. The light harvesting properties of both of the compounds have been studied using these compounds as photosensitizers in TiO2-based DSSCs. The photovoltaic devices fabricated by Sb and Bi showed a maximum current conversion efficiency of 1.51% and 0.97%, respectively under 1.5 AM illumination (100 mW cm(-2)) and having incident photon to current efficiency (IPCE) of 38% and 31%, respectively. The reason for the higher efficiency of Sb is due its higher dye loading.

Abstract
Four silver dithiocarbamate complexes have been synthesized and characterized by microanalysis.1and2are tetranuclear cluster-based coordination polymers whereas3and4are dinuclear. All complexes are strongly luminescent in solid phase.
