Abstract
The synthesis of a series of Ti complexes of an aryl-linked bis-phenoxide ligand, 3,3''-di-tert-butyl-5,5''-dimethyl-[1,1':2',1''-terphenyl]-2,2''-bis(olate), (TPO)H2, is reported. This ortho-linked terphenyl ligand builds on previously reported meta- and para- linked terphenyl based ligands, completing the isomeric series of terphenoxide ligands. The 4-coordinate (TPO)Ti(NMe2)2 is an active catalyst for alkyne hydroamination with a variety of arylamines, revealing good regioselectivity in reactions with unsymmetric alkynes. Terminal alkynes such as phenylacetylene undergo additional insertion reactions with the key azatitanacyclobutene intermediates, providing further evidence that Ti aryloxide complexes are susceptible to this further reactivity.

Abstract
Polydentate ligands are used for thermodynamic stabilization of tetrylenes-low-valent derivatives of Group 14 elements (E = Si, Ge, Sn, Pb). This work shows by DFT calculations how the structure (the presence or absence of substituents) and type (alcoholic, Alk, or phenolic, Ar) of tridentate ligands 2,6-pyridinobis(1,2-ethanols) [AlkONOR]H2 and 2,6-pyridinobis(1,2-phenols) [ArONOR]H2 (R = H, Me) may affect the reactivity or stabilization of tetrylene, indicating the unprecedented behavior of Main Group elements. This enables the unique control of the type of the occurring reaction. We found that unhindered [ONOH]H2 ligands predominantly led to hypercoordinated bis-liganded {[ONOH]}2Ge complexes, where an E(+2) intermediate was inserted into the ArO-H bond with subsequent H2 evolution. In contrast, substituted [ONOMe]H2 ligands gave [ONOMe]Ge: germylenes, which may be regarded as kinetic stabilized products; their transformation into E(+4) species is also thermodynamically favorable. The latter reaction is more probable for phenolic [ArONO]H2 ligands than for alcoholic [AlkONO]H2. The thermodynamics and possible intermediates of the reactions were also investigated.

Abstract
Trichloro niobium(V) complexes 3 and 4 with the sulfur- or selenium-bridged [OEO]-type bis(phenolate) ligands (E = S, Se) were synthesized and fully characterized on the basis of their NMR spectroscopic data and X-ray crystallographic analysis. In the crystalline state of 4, the [OSeO]-core of the ligand was coordinated to the niobium center in a fac-fashion. The corresponding tribenzyl niobium(V) complexes 5 and 6 were also prepared by the reactions of 3 and 4 with 3 equivalents of PhCH2MgCl in toluene. The X-ray diffraction analysis of 6 revealed that the distorted six-coordinated niobium center incorporated in the [OSeO]-type ligand took a mer-fashion, and one benzyl ligand was coordinated to the niobium center by η2-fashion. Complexes 5 and 6 were tested for the phenylacetylene polymerization that produced poly(phenylacetylene)s (PPAs), oligomers, and triphenylbenzenes (TPBs) depending on the chalcogen atom in the [OEO]-type ligand.

Abstract
A series of new zirconium complexes bearing bulkier amine bis(phenolate) tetradentate ligands, Me2NCH2CH2N{CH2(2-O-3-R-5-tBu-C6H2)}2ZrCl2 [R = CPhMe2 (1); CMePh2 (2); CPh3 (3); Ph (4); 3,5-Me2C6H3 (5); 3,5-tBu2C6H3 (6); 4-tBuC6H4 (7)], were synthesized and characterized by 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), 13C NMR, and elemental analyses. The molecular structures of complexes 1 and 3 were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The X-ray crystallography analysis reveals that these complexes display a slightly distorted octahedral geometry around their metal centers. Upon activation with methylaluminoxane (MAO), dry-MAO, MAO/butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT), or AliBu3/CPh3B(C6F5)4, these zirconium complexes exhibit high catalytic activity for ethylene polymerization [up to 1.07 × 107 g PE (mol Zr)-1 h-1] and ethylene/1-hexene copolymerization [up to 2.78 × 107 g polymer (mol Zr)-1 h-1], affording (co)polymers with moderate to high molecular weights and good comonomer incorporations. The zirconium complexes with bulkier R groups show higher catalytic activities and longer lifetimes and produce polymers with higher molecular weights, while the zirconium complexes with aryls as R groups demonstrate relatively good comonomer incorporation ability for the copolymerization reactions. These catalytic systems also show moderate catalytic activities for the polymerization reactions of propylene, 1-hexene, and 1-decene. Upon activation with MAO, the zirconium complexes also show moderate catalytic activities for the copolymerization reaction of ethylene with 3-buten-1-ol (treated with 1 equiv of AliBu3), affording copolymers with the incorporation of 3-buten-1-ol up to 1.05%.

Abstract
A number of new sulfur-bridged tridentate [OSO] bisphenolato-based ligand precursors S(2-CH2-4-tBu-6-R-C6H2OH)2 [R = CMe3 (H2L1), CMe2Ph (H2L2), CMePh2 (H2L3), CPh3 (H2L4), and C(p-Tol)3 (H2L5)] were synthesized by reactions of Na2S·9H2O with 2 eq. of the corresponding 2-(bromomethyl)-4-(tert-butyl)-6-R-phenol. Their neutral titanium complexes [S(2-CH2-4-tBu-6-R-C6H2O)2]TiCl2 [R = CMe3 (1), CMe2Ph (2), CMePh2 (3), CPh3 (4), and C(p-Tol)3 (5)] were synthesized in high yields by direct HCl-elimination reactions of TiCl4 with the corresponding ligand precursors in toluene. Ionic titanium complexes [NHEt3][S(2-CH2-4-tBu-6-R-C6H2O)2TiCl3] [R = CMe3 (6), CMePh2 (7)] and [NH2Et2][S(2-CH2-4-tBu-6-R-C6H2O)2TiCl3] [R = CMe3 (8) and CMePh2 (9)] were obtained in high yields from the reactions of TiCl4 with the corresponding ligand precursors in the presence of 2 eq. of triethylamine or diethylamine. Neutral zirconium complexes [S(2-CH2-4-tBu-6-R-C6H2O)2]ZrCl2(THF) [R = CMe2Ph (10·THF), and CMePh2 (11·THF)] were synthesized by reactions of ZrCl4 with 1 eq. of the dilithium salt of the corresponding ligand precursors Li2L in THF. The new titanium and zirconium complexes were characterized by 1H and 13C NMR, IR and elemental analyses. The molecular structures of complexes 4, 6 and 10·THF were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The X-ray crystallography analysis reveals that titanium complex 4 has a five-coordinating environment surrounding the central metal atom, while the titanium complex 6 and the THF-solvated zirconium complex 10·THF possess a six-coordinating pseudo-octahedral environment around the central metal atom. Upon activation with MAO or AliBu3/Ph3CB(C6F5)4, all these titanium and zirconium complexes exhibit moderate to high catalytic activities for ethylene polymerization and ethylene/1-hexene copolymerization with moderate to high comonomer incorporation, and the ionic titanium complexes 6, 7, 8 and 9 show lower catalytic activity than their corresponding neutral complexes under similar conditions.

Abstract
Discrete ionic complexes {ONOSiMe2tBu}M(CH2Ph)((η6-Ph)CH2B(C6F5)3) (M = Ti, 2-Ti; Zr, 2-Zr) have been prepared from the parent neutral dibenzyl precursors and B(C6F5)3. Also, a neutral dichloro complex {ONOSiMe2tBu}ZrCl2(Me2NH) (3) was synthesized by the reaction of a proligand {ONOSiMe2tBu}H2 (1-H2) with (Me2N)2ZrCl2(DME). The compounds were characterized by NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography (for 2-Zr and 3). In the solid state, both 2-Zr and 3 feature meso-like binding of the ligand. VT NMR studies of 2-Ti and 2-Zr revealed that the former species dissociates in solution to form an outer-sphere ion pair (OSIP) that features a complicated dynamic behavior, while the latter compound retains an inner-sphere ion pair (ISIP) structure that interconverts between Cs-symmetric (meso-like) and C1-symmetric (rac-like) conformations. The mechanism of this interconversion was assessed by DFT calculations and the corresponding barrier for the straightforward interconversion was calculated ().

Abstract
We report here a number of dianionic 1,4-diaza-1,3-butadiene complexes of titanium and zirconium synthesised by a salt metathesis reaction. The reaction of either CpTiCl3 or Cp2TiCl2 with the dilithium salt of N,N'-bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)-1,4-diaza-1,3-butadiene [; abbreviated (Dipp)2DADLi2] afforded the mono-cyclopentadienyl titanium complex [η(5)-CpTi((Dipp)2DAD)Cl] () bearing a dianionic ene-diamide ligand, while the analogous reaction of zirconocene dichloride (Cp2ZrCl2) with the dilithium salt gave the bis-cyclopentadienyl zirconium complex [Cp2Zr{(Dipp)2DAD}] (). The metal dichloride complexes [Ti((Dipp)2DAD)Cl2] () and [{(Dipp)2DADZrCl(μ-Cl)}2(κ(3)-Cl)(Li)(OEt2)2] () were obtained by the reaction of and anhydrous metal tetrachloride in a 1 : 1 molar ratio in diethyl ether at room temperature. Meanwhile, the homoleptic titanium complex [Ti{((Dipp)2DAD)}2] () was isolated in good yield by the treatment of with TiCl4 in a 1 : 2 molar ratio in diethyl ether. The complexes and were further reacted with neosilyl lithium to afford mono- and bis-alkyl complexes of titanium [η(5)-CpTi{(Dipp)2DAD}(CH2SiMe3)] () and zirconium [Zr{(Dipp)2DAD}(CH2SiMe3)2] () respectively. Molecular structures of the complexes , , and in the solid states were confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The solid state structures of all the complexes reveal that the metal ions are chelated through the amido-nitrogen atoms and the olefinic carbons of the [(Dipp)2DAD](2-) moiety, satisfying the σ(2),π coordination mode. Compound was used as a catalyst for the intermolecular hydrosilylation reaction of a number of olefins, and moderate activity of catalyst was observed.

Abstract
The anisole-substituted silyl-amide anion, [N(SiMe2{C6H4-2-OMe})2](-) (L), has been used as a pincer-type ligand in coordination chemistry. X-ray diffraction data for the lithium salt shows a trimetallic structure consisting of two equivalents of Li(L) that sequester a molecule of LiCl. The potassium salt K(L) is dimeric in the solid-state with bridging amide ligands. Each structure shows chelation of both O-donor groups to the electropositive metal. In contrast, the titanium compound Ti(L)Cl3 is four-coordinate with a monodentate amide. The zirconium compound Zr(L)2Cl2 is monometallic with a six-coordinate metal and two N,O-bidentate amides.
