Abstract
The efficiency of photocatalysts depends largely on the accessibility of reaction species to the active centre, the electron transfer and geometric matching between the active surface of the catalyst and reaction species. In this work, we successfully synthesized and designed one two-dimensional Mn(II) MOF with [Mn2(H2L1)(H2O)2(DMF)2]n·(CH3CH2OH)n (HSTC 3) by using MnCl2·4H2O and 5,5'-(anthracene-9,10-diyl)diisophthalic acid (H4L1), in which the adjacent layers are stacked with weak interactions, and the huge gap leads to the interpenetration between layers to form a 2D + 2D → 3D interpenetration frame. Based on the particularity of the structure of HSTC 3, ultrasonic wall breaking methods were tried to successfully peel HSTC 3 into nanosheets (HSTC 3-NS), thus achieving a significant improvement in a series of optoelectronic properties due to exposure to more active centres for HSTC 3-NS. These results significantly enhance the photocatalytic selective oxidation of thioether. This study provides a new insight into the post-synthesis modification of MOF photocatalyst and their application in photocatalytic organic synthesis.

Abstract
Unimolecular fragment coupling (UFC) is defined as a reaction format, wherein atom(s) located in the middle of a molecule are extruded, and the remaining fragments are coupled. UFC is a potentially powerful strategy that is an alternative to transition-metal-catalyzed cross-coupling because the target chemical bond is formed in an intramolecular fashion, which is inherently beneficial for chemoselectivity and stereoselectivity issues. In this Perspective, we will present an overview of the recent advances in UFC reactions, which encompass those proceeding through the elimination of CO2, CO, SO2, isocyanates, N2, or single atoms primarily via transition metal catalysis.

Abstract
C-C σ-bond cleavage and reconstruction is a significant tool for structural modification in synthetic chemistry but it remains a formidable challenge to perform on unstrained skeletons. Herein, we describe a radical addition-enabled C-C σ-bond cleavage/reconstruction reaction of unstrained allyl ketones to access various functional indanones bearing a benzylic quaternary center. The synthetic utility of this method has been showcased by the first total synthesis of carexane L, an indanone-based natural product.

Abstract
Perfluoroalkylation is important for late-stage modification of biologically active molecules. Herein, we report a protocol for visible-light-induced perfluoroalkylation reactions of aryl acrylic acids. These reactions, which use perfluoroalkyl iodides as radical precursors and inexpensive eosin Y as a photocatalyst, proceed in a decarboxylative manner. The easy accessibility of perfluoroalkyl iodides and the broad substrate scope, mild conditions, and metal-free catalyst make this protocol applicable for the transformation of inexpensive raw materials to high-value chemicals.

Abstract
We describe herein a catalyst-free, traditional reductant-free strategy for the direct photoinduced hydrogenation or deuteration of aromatic olefins, ketones, and aldehydes with simple bases as the only additives. A broad range of substrates were demonstrated with high yields and deuterium incorporations. Mechanistic experiments indicate a radical mechanism.

Abstract
An unexpected iodine(III)-mediated C(sp3)-C(sp2) bond cleavage of 3-(methylamino)-2-(2-substitutedbenzoyl)acrylates for efficient synthesis of privileged scaffold 4-quinolones was described. Notably, a wide range of alkyl groups (e.g. methyl, tert-butyl or alkyl chain) can be conveniently cleaved in this system. The detailed mechanism studies revealed that the transformation proceeded through cascade ipso-cyclization and 1,2-carbonyl migration, the smaller bond energy determined ortho C-C bond cleavage rather than C-H bond cleavage, via an enamine radical intermediate.
