Abstract
Background Gender Gap refers to differences between men and women in terms of access to medical education, career development, and leadership positions in medical practice and research. Although women now make up most medical school graduates in many countries, they are often underrepresented in higher positions. Objective The aim of this study is therefore to analyze the gender-specific development in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Germany over the past 20 years and to survey the current status quo. Materials and methods An narrative review was carried out on the development of female graduates of human medicine, the proportion of women in contract medical care and clinical care, as well as the gender-specific evaluation of obtaining a gynecological/obstetric additional qualification. habilitation figures in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology were evaluated about gender distribution. All data were received from federal institutes. Results A total of 46.7% (n = 95,234) of all inpatient doctors were female. A total of 46.7% (n = 95,234) of the physicians in hospitals were female. A total of 46% (1,832/3,958) were the portion of females as assistant physicians, 39.8% (n = 45.551) as specialists, 35.3% (n = 18789) as senior physicians, 25.1% (n = 2394) as first senior physicians and 25% (n = 10) as chief physicians in hospital. A total of 64.6% (n = 3958) of the physicians in Obstetrics and Gynecology were female. A total of 46% (1,832/3,958) were the portion of females as assistant physicians, 64.6% (n = 3958) as specialists, 65.0% (n = 1919) as senior physicians, 26.4% (n = 207) first senior physicians and 25% (n = 10) as chief physicians in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Discussion The problem with the gender gap in medicine, does not seem to be access to teaching or starting a residency. But in the functions with increasing responsibility and management functions, e.g., as senior physicians, women are already rarely seen. In Obstetrics and Gynecology, too, there is a shortage of women in leading positions, despite the relatively high numbers, for example as senior physicians. Factors like maternity and establishing a family are points mentioned therefore, but also stereotypes seem to be considerable facts. Conclusion However, it is important to recognize the need for more women in higher positions in medicine and actively work to encourage more women to choose a career in medicine.

Abstract
Background There has historically been women underrepresentation on editorial boards of peer-reviewed medical journals. High-ranked oncology journals showcase cancer-related scientific work at the forefront of the discipline. There is urgent need to investigate gender representation on editorial boards at leading oncology journals. Materials and methods Sixty high-ranked oncology journals based on impact factor calculated by the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) 2021 from Web of Science/Clarivate Analytics were identified. Gender-related information of editorial boards was obtained from each journal’s website. The gender of each member of the editorial team was confirmed by an internet search for picture and/or gender-specific pronoun from journal or personal profile. Fisher’s exact tests and analysis of variance were used to analyze categorical and continuous variables, respectively. Significance was set at P < 0.05. Results Among 4898 members on editorial boards of top oncology journals with the highest impact factor, 1177 were women. Women made up 24% (1177 of 4898) of members on editorial boards in top oncology journals, and there was significantly less women board members than men (P < 0.0001). The mean female composition of editorial boards of oncology journals was 27% (range from 4% to 100%). Among 71 editors-in-chief of the top oncology journals, 14 (20%) were women. There was a positive correlation between the presence of women in journal editorial leadership and the percentage of women on editorial boards (rs = 0.340, P = 0.008). The underrepresentation of women on oncology journal editorial boards was significantly different among quartiles of journal impact factor. There was no significant correlation between women’s representation on journal editorial boards (%) and journal impact factors (rs = 0.226, P = 0.086). Conclusions The results demonstrated that there are gender disparities among editorial leadership at high-impact oncology journals. There are cultural and structural barriers and prejudices to gender parity and diversity on editorial boards of oncology journals. The representation of women on editorial boards of oncology journals has not been verified. This large-scale study found that women comprised only 24% of editorial boards of top-ranked oncology journals. The results demonstrated that there are gender disparities among editorial leadership at leading oncology journals.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The burden of ovarian cancer (OC) in low-income countries continues to increase annually. This gynecological cancer, known for its poor survival outcomes, has not attracted much interest in medical research as compared to other women's malignancies such as breast cancer. This bibliometric study was conducted to better depict the global map and the future directions of scientific productivity in the area of OC research in Morocco. METHODS Publication trends on OC were retrospectively analyzed using a number of bibliometric parameters based on the Pubmed database and other resources. RESULTS During the time period (1900-2018), a total number of 74 publications responding to the inclusion criteria were found and incorporated in the bibliometric analysis. This was dominated by case reports and case series on rare ovarian tumors (n = 60). In the core cluster, only 10 original studies and 3 reviews on OC were published by Moroccan researchers. After full-text appraisal for study population, only two clinical original articles included OC patients. The other clinical studies included breast cancer patients only or were suggestive of inherited OC. In addition, 3 preclinical in vitro studies were found during the literature search. The majority of these publications were covered by Pubmed and Web of Science core collection and all published in English language. The H-index of top 10 Moroccan scientists in this area didn't exceed 10. Importantly, research and review articles were frequently published in influential journals. However, the number of publications as compared to other African countries was very low. Moreover, a similar trend in terms of article per each newly diagnosed OC case, GDP per capita and per million was also noticed. For gender distribution, female scientists were first authors in the majority of these papers but less represented as leading last authors. In the complementary cluster of other article types on rare ovarian tumors, 70% of the items were published in French and approximately 60% were indexed on Pubmed. During the last five years, a marked acceleration of publishing this research category with little impact in the evidence-based practice was noticed. CONCLUSIONS This research area in gynecologic oncology seems to be neglected and needs to be prioritized in future research projects in Morocco particularly given the aggressive behavior of this women's cancer and the few available therapeutic options. There is an unmet need for studies on OC in all fields particularly epidemiology, clinic-pathological characteristics, and survival outcomes.

Abstract
With the fast development of nanomedicine, the imaging-guided and photo-induced cancer monotherapies can efficiently eliminate tumor lesions, which are strongly dependent on the construction of versatile theranostic nanoplatforms. Among diverse photo-converting nanoplatforms, silver chalcogenide nanoparticles feature high biocompatibility, narrow band gaps, and tunable optical properties, yet Ag2Te-based nanosystems are still at a proof-of-concept stage, and the exploration of Ag2Te-based nanosystems suitable for photonic tumor hyperthermia is challenging. Herein, we report on the construction of versatile ultrasmall Ag2Te quantum dots (QDs) via a facile biomineralization strategy. Especially, these Ag2Te QDs with negligible toxicity and excellent biocompatibility were developed for X-ray computed tomography (CT) imaging-guided photonic tumor hyperthermia by near-infrared (NIR) activation. The fabricated Ag2Te QDs exhibited a high tumor suppression rate (94.3%) on 4T1 breast tumor animal models due to the high photothermal-conversion efficiency (50.5%). Mechanistically, Ag2Te QDs were promising potential CT imaging agents for imaging guidance and monitoring during photonic hyperthermia. Importantly, Ag2Te QDs were rapidly eliminated from the body via feces and urine because of their ultrasmall sizes. This work not only broadens the biomedical applications of silver chalcogenide-based theranostic nanosystems but also provides the paradigm of theranostic nanosystems with a photonic tumor hyperthermia effect and outstanding contrast enhancement of high-performance CT imaging.

Abstract
Energy-converting biomaterials (ECBs)-mediated cancer-therapeutic modalities have been extensively explored, which have achieved remarkable benefits to overwhelm the obstacles of traditional cancer-treatment modalities. Energy-driven cancer-therapeutic modalities feature their distinctive merits, including noninvasiveness, low mammalian toxicity, adequate therapeutic outcome, and optimistical synergistic therapeutics. In this advanced review, the prevailing mainstream ECBs can be divided into two sections: Reactive oxygen species (ROS)-associated energy-converting biomaterials (ROS-ECBs) and hyperthermia-related energy-converting biomaterials (H-ECBs). On the one hand, ROS-ECBs can transfer exogenous or endogenous energy (such as light, radiation, ultrasound, or chemical) to generate and release highly toxic ROS for inducing tumor cell apoptosis/necrosis, including photo-driven ROS-ECBs for photodynamic therapy, radiation-driven ROS-ECBs for radiotherapy, ultrasound-driven ROS-ECBs for sonodynamic therapy, and chemical-driven ROS-ECBs for chemodynamic therapy. On the other hand, H-ECBs could translate the external energy (such as light and magnetic) into heat for killing tumor cells, including photo-converted H-ECBs for photothermal therapy and magnetic-converted H-ECBs for magnetic hyperthermia therapy. Additionally, the biosafety issues of ECBs are expounded preliminarily, guaranteeing the ever-stringent requirements of clinical translation. Finally, we discussed the prospects and facing challenges for constructing the new-generation ECBs for establishing intriguing energy-driven cancer-therapeutic modalities.
