Abstract
BACKGROUND AND AIMS To determine the effect of a multimodal intervention (nutritional behavior change and physical exercise) on quality of life, chemotherapy response rate and tolerance, histopathological level of the tumor, body composition, and biochemical parameters, in patients diagnosed with breast cancer during neoadjuvant chemotherapy treatment, and to compare them with the control group. METHODS Anticipated 80 patients diagnosed with breast cancer aged 18-70 years will be recruited for this randomized, unblinded clinical trial based on a nutritional behavior change and physical exercise in patients during the approximately 6 months in which the patient receives neoadjuvant treatment. Participants will be randomly allocated (1:1) to one of two groups (intervention or control). Primary and secondary outcomes will be assessed before the beginning and after the neoadjuvant treatment (before surgery). The primary outcome is quality of life, whereas secondary outcomes include chemotherapy response rate and tolerance, histopathological level of the tumor and body composition (i.e., visceral adipose tissue activity, bone, lean and fat masses). We will analyze blood parameters (i.e., biochemical, inflammatory, and tumor markers) as exploratory outcomes. CONCLUSION This study will address the influence of a practical and viable multimodal intervention (i.e., nutritional behavior change and physical exercise) on breast cancer patients undergoing neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Given the practical viability of the intervention in real-world settings, our study holds promise for significant scientific and clinical implications.

Abstract
Objective Differences in individual muscle/fat volumes may change the effectiveness of chemotherapy. In this study, the relationship between trunkal muscle and fat volume and body mass index (BMI) obtained before receiving neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NCT) in patients with breast cancer and complete pathological response (pCR) was investigated. Materials and Methods The volumes of psoas, abdominal and paraspinal muscles, and trunkal subcutaneous and visceral fat were calculated using CoreSlicer AI 2.0 opensource program from the F-18 fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (CT) and CT images before NCT and postoperative pCR rates to NCT were recorded. Muscle/fat volumes and BMI prior to NCT were compared in terms of pathological pCR rates. Patients were followed up regularly for recurrence and survival. Results Ninety-three patients were included with median (range) values for age, BMI, and body weights of 48 (28-72) years, 27 (16.8-51.6) kg/m2, and 71.94 (43-137) kg, respectively. The median follow-up time was 18.6 (6.7-59.6) months. No significant correlation was found between total muscle or fat volumes of patients with and without pCR. BMI [26.2 (16.8-51.6) kg/m2 vs. 24.6 (20.3-34.3) kg/m2, p = 0.03] and pCR rates in patients with low right-psoas muscle volume [11.74 (7.03-18.51) vs. 10.2 (6.71-13.36), p = 0.025] were significantly greater. A significant relationship was found between right psoas muscle volume and disease-free survival (DFS) (11.74 cm3 (7.03-18.51) vs. 10.2 cm3 (6.71-13.36), p = 0.025). However, no significant relationship was detected between total muscle-fat volume, BMI and overall survival and DFS (p>0.05). Conclusion This is the first published study investigating the relationship between the pCR ratio and body muscle and fat volume measured by CoreSlicer AI 2.0 in patients with breast cancer who received NCT. No correlation was found between the pCR ratio and total muscle plus fat volume. However, these results need to be validated with larger patient series.

Abstract
Background Obesity is known to increase the risk and severity of age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Increased inflamed metabolic activity of visceral adipose tissue (VAT) is considered as a crucial underlying mechanism for the harmful effects of obesity. In this study, we aimed to investigate the inflamed metabolic activity of VAT with 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) and their association with AMD. Materials and methods A total of 57 elderly participants (aged ≥ 50 years) who underwent 18F-FDG PET/CT for health screening and subsequent fundoscopic exam for complaint of recently impaired vision were enrolled. The metabolic activity of VAT was measured from the maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax) of VAT. The early AMD participant was defined as the participant with either eye satisfying AMD and without any sign of advanced AMD (neovascular AMD or geographic atrophy). The late AMD participant was defined as the participant with either eye satisfying advanced AMD. Results VAT SUVmax was highest in participants with late AMD, intermediate in early AMD, and lowest in non-AMD participants. The levels of systemic inflammation surrogate markers were also highest in late AMD group. Furthermore, VAT SUVmax was positively correlated with systemic inflammation surrogate markers and independently associated with the late AMD. Conclusions The metabolic activity of VAT evaluated by 18F-FDG PET/CT was associated with the severity of AMD and synchronized with the level of systemic inflammation. Thus, VAT SUVmax could be potentially employed as a surrogate marker of obesity-driven VAT inflammation associated with AMD.

Abstract
PURPOSE We aimed to determine if sex differences in abdominal visceral fat composition and metabolism can help predict the prognosis of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) patients. METHODS This retrospective cohort study included 117 DLBCL patients. The area and metabolic activity of subcutaneous adipose tissue and visceral adipose tissue were measured using CT and PET imaging. Kaplan-Meier survival analysis was employed to evaluate the effect of these parameters on progression-free survival. Multivariate Cox proportional hazard regression models were used to determine the effects of relative visceral fat area (rVFA) on sex-specific survival. RESULTS Females with an rVFA greater than the optimal threshold of 35 % and a visceral-to-subcutaneous adipose tissue ratio (V/S) >3.24 had worse progression-free survival (p = 0.01, 0.001, respectively). No rVFA or V/S were identified in significantly stratified males with DLBCL (p = 0.249 and 0.895, respectively). Combining the changes in rVFA and V/S identified a subgroup of females with high rVFA and V/S values and exceptionally poor outcomes. The rVFA was a significant predictor of DLBCL progression in females alone. CONCLUSION Once female DLBCL patients accumulate fat over the tolerable range in the visceral area, they might be at an increased risk of progression (hazard ratio, 3.87; 95 % CI, 1.81-12.69, p = 0.02). Sex differences in visceral fat composition and metabolism may provide a new risk stratification system for patients with DLBCL.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The prognostic role of adiposity in uterine cervical cancer (CC) is largely unknown. Abdominal fat distribution may better reflect obesity than body mass index. This study aims to describe computed tomography (CT)-assessed abdominal fat distribution in relation to clinicopathologic characteristics, survival, and tumor gene expression in CC. METHODS The study included 316 CC patients diagnosed during 2004-2017 who had pre-treatment abdominal CT. CT-based 3D segmentation of total-, subcutaneous- and visceral abdominal fat volumes (TAV, SAV and VAV) allowed for calculation of visceral fat percentage (VAV% = VAV/TAV). Liver density (LD) and waist circumference (at L3/L4-level) were also measured. Associations between CT-derived adiposity markers, clinicopathologic characteristics and disease-specific survival (DSS) were explored. Gene set enrichment of primary tumors were examined in relation to fat distribution in a subset of 108 CC patients. RESULTS High TAV, VAV and VAV% and low LD were associated with higher age (≥44 yrs.; p ≤ 0.017) and high International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) (2018) stage (p ≤ 0.01). High VAV% was the only CT-marker predicting high-grade histology (p = 0.028), large tumor size (p = 0.016) and poor DSS (HR 1.07, p < 0.001). Patients with high VAV% had CC tumors that exhibited increased inflammatory signaling (false discovery rate [FDR] < 5%). CONCLUSIONS High VAV% is associated with high-risk clinical features and predicts reduced DSS in CC patients. Furthermore, patients with high VAV% had upregulated inflammatory tumor signaling, suggesting that the metabolic environment induced by visceral adiposity contributes to tumor progression in CC.

Abstract
Body composition assessment (ie, the measurement of muscle and adiposity) impacts several cancer-related outcomes including treatment-related toxicities, treatment responses, complications, and prognosis. Traditional modalities for body composition measurement include body mass index, body circumference, skinfold thickness, and bioelectrical impedance analysis; advanced imaging modalities include dual energy x-ray absorptiometry, computerized tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and positron emission tomography. Each modality has its advantages and disadvantages, thus requiring an individualized approach in identifying the most appropriate measure for specific clinical or research situations. Advancements in imaging approaches have led to an abundance of available data, however, the lack of standardized thresholds for classification of abnormal muscle mass or adiposity has been a barrier to adopting these measurements widely in research and clinical care. In this review, we discuss the different modalities in detail and provide guidance on their unique opportunities and challenges.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVE Prediction of the pathologic response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) in patients with locally advanced breast cancer is essential for optimal treatment strategy. The current approach of adjuvant or neoadjuvant treatment is based on the molecular subtype. Obesity may have affected chemotherapy response. This study aims to evaluate the relationship between metabolic activity of adipose tissue (AT) and pathological responses to NAC. And to define the association with body mass index (BMI) and metabolic parameters of standardized uptake value (SUV) of adipose tissue measured by positron emission computed tomography (PET/CT). MATERIAL AND METHODS One-hundred and sixteen consecutive patients with stage II and III breast cancer who underwent PET/CT before receiving NAC, were evaluated in the study. Metabolic parameters of visceral adipose tissue (VAT-SUV), subcutaneous adipose tissue (SAT-SUV), and calculated SUV of visceral-to-subcutaneous ratio (V/S-ratio) were regarded. The relationship between SUV of AT and pathologic response was evaluated from medical records retrospectively. RESULTS Univariate-analysis revealed that good pathological response was significantly associated with clinical stage (P<.001), HER-2 positivity (P<.001), VAT-SUV (P=.037), VAT-density (P=.043) and V/S-ratio (P=.003). In multivariate-analysis clinical stage, HER-2 positivity and V/S-ratio were found to have statistically effect on pathological response. VAT-volume (P<.001), VAT-SUV (P=.016), SAT-volume (P<.001) and SAT-SUV (P<.001) has positive correlation with BMI value. On the other hand, V/S-ratio (P=.039) and SAT-density (P=.003) has negative correlation with BMI. CONCLUSION Metabolic activity of AT is associated with BMI and effected chemotherapy responses. LowV/S ratio was associated with high BMI and poor pathological response to NAC. V/S ratio may be a useful marker for the prediction of NAC responses.

Abstract
Glucose utilization by visceral adipose tissue (VAT) reflects inflammatory activity, which also promotes tumor growth and carcinogenesis. The effect of metabolically active VAT on survival outcomes in breast cancer is unknown. We investigated survival outcomes in patients with breast cancer based on the standardized uptake value (SUV) of VAT (SUVmean-VAT) using 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (18F-FDG PET/CT). A total of 148 patients with breast cancer were divided into high- and low groups according to their SUVmean-VAT and SUVmax-tumor. Clinical characteristics and survival outcomes were compared between the groups. High SUVmean-VAT was associated with poor recurrence-free survival (RFS; hazard ratio [HR], 2.754; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.090-6.958, p = 0.032) and distant metastasis-free survival (DMFS; HR, 3.500; 95% CI, 1.224-10.01, p = 0.019). Multivariate analysis showed that high SUVmean-VAT was a significant factor for poor RFS and poor DMFS (p = 0.023 and 0.039, respectively). High SUVmax-tumor was significantly associated with short RFS (p = 0.0388). Tumors with a high SUV tended to have a short DMFS, although the difference was not significant (p = 0.0718). Our findings showed that upregulated glucose metabolism in the VAT measured using 18F-FDG PET/CT may be a prognostic biomarker for adverse outcomes in breast cancer.

Abstract
Obesity contributes to increased cancer incidence and aggressiveness in patients with endometrial cancer. Inflamed metabolic activity of visceral adipose tissue (VAT) is regarded as a key underlying mechanism of adverse consequences of obesity. The aim of this study was to investigate the association between inflammatory metabolic activity of VAT evaluated by 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (18F-FDG PET/CT) and metastatic status of lymph nodes (LN) in patients with endometrial cancer. In total, 161 women with newly diagnosed endometrial cancer, who received preoperative 18F-FDG PET/CT, were enrolled. VAT inflammatory metabolic activity was defined as V/S ratio and measured from the maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax) of VAT normalized to the SUVmax of subcutaneous adipose tissue (SAT). The positive LN metastasis group exhibited a significantly higher V/S ratio than the negative LN metastasis group. Systemic inflammatory surrogate markers including high sensitivity C-reactive protein, spleen SUVmax, and bone marrow SUVmax were also higher in the LN metastasis group than in the negative LN metastasis group, showing significant correlations with V/S ratio. In multivariate logistic regression analysis, V/S ratio was independently associated with LN metastasis. V/S ratio is independently associated with the LN metastasis status in patients with endometrial cancer. This finding could be useful as a potential surrogate marker of obesity-induced VAT inflammation associated with tumor aggressiveness.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate whether sex differences in visceral fat volume and glucose uptake measured by positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) in abdominal visceral fat can stratify overall survival (OS) in patients with colorectal cancer (CRC). We retrospectively enrolled 293 patients diagnosed with CRC who underwent PET/CT before surgical resection. Fluorodeoxyglucose uptake of visceral adipose tissue (VAT-SUV) and subcutaneous adiposity tissue (SAT-SUV) were measured using PET/CT. The relative VAT (rVAT) was defined as the visceral fat volume normalized to the total volume of fat (VAT plus SAT). We defined sex-specific cutoff values for VAT-SUV, SAT-SUV, and rVAT. Univariate and multivariate analyses using Cox proportional hazard regression analysis were performed to identify the independent prognostic factors. The study population comprised 181 men and 112 women. The rVAT (0.40 vs. 0.29, p < 0.001) and VAT-SUV (0.55 vs. 0.48, p = 0.007) were significantly greater in men than in women. High rVAT (than low rVAT) and high VAT-SUV (than low VAT-SUV) showed a worse prognosis in male and female patients, respectively. Multivariate analysis indicated that the combination of rVAT and VAT-SUV was an independent prognostic factor for predicting OS in both male and female patients. The combination of rVAT and VAT-SUV could differentiate the patients with the best survival outcome from the other three individual groups in female patients, but not in males. Glucose uptake and relative volume of visceral fat may provide a new risk stratification for patients with CRC, especially female patients.

Abstract
We investigated whether textural parameters of peritumoral breast adipose tissue (AT) based on F-18 fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) PET/CT could predict axillary lymph node metastasis in patients with breast cancer. A total of 326 breast cancer patients with preoperative FDG PET/CT were retrospectively enrolled. PET/CT images were visually assessed and the maximum FDG uptake of axillary lymph nodes (LN SUVmax) was measured. From peritumoral breast AT, 38 textural features of PET imaging were extracted. The diagnostic ability of PET based on visual analysis, LN SUVmax, and textural features of peritumoral breast AT for predicting axillary lymph node metastasis were assessed using the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) values. Among the 38 peritumoral breast AT textural features, grey-level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) entropy showed the highest AUC value (0.830) for predicting axillary lymph node metastasis. The value of GLCM entropy was higher than that of visual analysis (0.739; p < 0.05) and the AUC value was comparable to that of LN SUVmax (0.793; p > 0.05). In the subgroup analysis of patients with negative findings on visual analysis, GLCM entropy still showed a high diagnostic ability (AUC: 0.759) in predicting lymph node metastasis. The findings suggest a potential diagnostic role of PET/CT imaging features of peritumoral breast AT in predicting axillary lymph node metastasis in patients with breast cancer.

Abstract
Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the prognostic prediction of germline BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutations by comparing the maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax) obtained from 18fluoride-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (18F-FDG PET/CT), which is considered a prognostic factor in breast cancer (BC). Methods: Retrospective interdisciplinary laboratory results of 92 patients with BC who had germline BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutation profiles and underwent 18F-FDG PET/CT were compared. Genotyping was made by next-generation sequencing, and PET/CT scans were re-evaluated. The histopathological data, genetic results, and clinical demographics of all patients were recorded. Patients were divided into two groups in accordance with the presence of germline BRCA1 and/or BRCA2 mutations. Between-group statistical comparison was performed. Results: In PET/CT performed for primary staging, patients with BRCA-positive BC had significantly higher SUVmax (p=0.039), larger tumor size (p=0.025), and presence of axillary nodal metastases (p=0.023) than patients with BRCA-negative BC. Although the Ki-67 index was higher in the BRCA-positive group than BRCA-negative group, this difference was not significant (p=0.157). Moreover, in the BRCA-positive and negative groups, SUVmax, Ki-67 index, and tumor size, grade, and stage were significantly correlated with each other. Conclusion: The results of this study showed a strong association between BRCA mutations and SUVmax, which indicates the poor prognosis of BC.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To assess the relationship between time-of-day of exercise training and changes in relevant cancer health outcomes among cancer survivors. METHODS Retrospective analysis of data collected from 2016-2019 from a hospital-based exercise oncology program. Descriptive statistics were calculated for demographic, clinical, and exercise timing characteristics (e.g. AM, PM, or mix) among survivors with available data for exercise training time (n = 233). For the total sample and a breast cancer sub-analysis, univariate analysis of covariance, adjusted for age, was carried out by exercise training time, for change in the following outcomes collected during the program's assessment sessions: cardiorespiratory fitness and muscular endurance (human performance variables), physical function, anthropometrics, self-reported fatigue, and quality of life (QoL). Change in body mass index (BMI) and body weight was included in the breast cancer analysis. RESULTS Overall, 37.3% of survivors habitually engaged in AM exercise (e.g. ≥ 75% AM training), 34.3% in PM exercise, and 28.3% in a mix of AM and PM exercise training throughout the program. Median time in the program was 17 weeks. Significant improvements in most human performance and physical function variables were observed in the total sample regardless of exercise training time-of-day. Among breast cancer survivors, PM but not AM or mixed was associated with improvements in fitness, and lower-body muscular endurance and function. Mixed exercise timing was linked with greater increase in waist circumference (total sample: 3.02cm, 95%CI 1.55, 4.49; breast cancer: 3.57cm 95%CI 0.96, 6.18), body weight (breast cancer: 1.6kg, 95%CI 0.3, 2.8) and BMI (breast cancer: 0.6kg/m2, 95%CI 0.1, 1.0). AM and PM exercise, but not mixed, was associated with improvements in fatigue and QoL. CONCLUSION Time-of-day of exercise training may differentially impact changes in human performance and physical function variables. Mixed exercise training time may result in less favorable outcomes related of weight management variables among cancer survivors.

Abstract
BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVE Exercise may reduce the risk of breast cancer through adiposity changes, but the dose-response effects of exercise volume on adiposity markers are unknown in postmenopausal women. We aimed to compare the dose-response effects of prescribed aerobic exercise volume on adiposity outcomes. PARTICIPANTS/METHODS Data from the Alberta Physical Activity and Breast Cancer Prevention (ALPHA) and Breast Cancer and Exercise Trial in Alberta (BETA) were pooled for this analysis (N = 720). These were 12-month randomized controlled trials, where participants were randomized to 225 min/week (mid-volume) of aerobic exercise versus usual inactive lifestyle (ALPHA), or 150 min/week (low-volume) versus 300 min/week (high-volume) (BETA). Fat mass and fat-free mass were measured using DXA and intra-abdominal and subcutaneous fat area were assessed with computed tomography. RESULTS After 12 months of aerobic exercise, increasing exercise volumes from no exercise/control to 300 min/week resulted in statistically significant reductions in BMI, weight, fat mass, fat percentage, intra-abdominal and subcutaneous fat area (P < 0.001). Compared with controls, fat mass loss was -1.13, -1.98 and -2.09 kg in the low-, mid- and high-volume groups, respectively. Similarly, weight loss was -1.47, -1.83, -2.21 kg in the low-, mid- and high-volume groups, respectively, compared to controls, and intra-abdominal fat area loss was -7.44, -15.56 and -8.76 cm2 in the low-, mid- and high-volume groups, respectively, compared to controls. No evidence for a dose-response effect on fat-free mass was noted. CONCLUSION A dose-response effect of exercise volume on adiposity markers was noted, however, the differences in adiposity markers were smaller when comparing 225 min/week to 300 min/week of exercise. Given the strong positive associations between obesity and postmenopausal breast cancer risk, this study provides evidence on the importance of exercise volume as part of the exercise prescription to reduce adiposity and, ultimately, postmenopausal breast cancer risk.

Abstract
Background It is well known that obesity is one of the risks for incurrence and development in breast cancer patients. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are reported to participate in the composition of tumor microenvironment and to regulate breast cancer cell metabolic activities. However, there was rare study focused on the lncRNAs in breast cancer with the influences of adipocytes. The study aimed to investigate lncRNAs expression profiles and discover potential biomarkers to predict the incidence and progression of adipocyte-associated-breast cancer. Methods We co-cultured adipocytes with breast cancer cells and profiled the expression of lncRNAs as well as mRNAs by using the RNA-sequencing method. Wound Healing, Migration assays and Invasion assays were applied to verify the invasion and metastasis of cancer cells. Results MDA-MB-231/Hpa-V and SK-BR-3/Hpa-V cells showed elevated migration and invasiveness compared to the control group. A sum of 371 mRNAs (181 upregulated and 190 downregulated) and 850 lncRNAs(414 upregulated and 436 downregulated) were differentially expressed in MDA-MB-231/Hpa-V comparing to MDA-MB-231(P < 0.05; |log2 (fold change)|>1.2). GO enrichment, KEGG pathway and interaction networks demonstrated that differentially expressed lncRNAs were involved in functional categories, such as material metabolism, which might lead to the progression of breast cancer. Conclusion Our study detected a lncRNA profile in breast cancer cells affecting by adipocytes and provided a better understanding of the tumor microenvironment. LncRNAs may be helpful to predict the therapeutic responses and prognosis of obese breast cancer patients.

Abstract
Adipose tissue (AT) forms depots at different anatomical locations throughout the body, being in subcutaneous and visceral regions, as well as the bone marrow. These ATs differ in the adipocyte functional profile, their insulin sensitivity, adipokines’ production, lipolysis, and response to pathologic conditions. Despite the recent advances in lineage tracing, which have demonstrated that individual adipose depots are composed of adipocytes derived from distinct progenitor populations, the cellular and molecular dissection of the adipose clonogenic stem cell niche is still a great challenge. Additional complexity in AT regulation is associated with tumor-induced changes that affect adipocyte phenotype. As an integrative unit of cell differentiation, AT microenvironment regulates various phenotype outcomes of differentiating adipogenic lineages, which consequently may contribute to the neoplastic phenotype manifestations. Particularly interesting is the capacity of AT to impose and support the aberrant potency of stem cells that accompanies tumor development. In this review, we summarize the current findings on the communication between adipocytes and their progenitors with tumor cells, pointing out to the co-existence of healthy and neoplastic stem cell niches developed during tumor evolution. We also discuss tumor-induced adaptations in mature adipocytes and the involvement of alternative differentiation programs.

Abstract
Background Inflamed visceral adipose tissue (VAT) facilitates chronic inflammation in atherosclerotic lesions thereby leading to increased risk of coronary artery disease (CAD). In this study, we evaluated the glucose uptake of VAT and the carotid artery with 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (18F-FDG PET/CT) and their association with CAD, including acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Methods A total of 90 participants were enrolled (32 with AMI, 33 with chronic stable angina; CSA, and 25 control participants) and undertook 18F-FDG PET/CT. VAT glucose uptake was measured by using maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax) of VAT region. The target-to-background ratio (TBR) of carotid artery was defined as the SUVmax of carotid artery divided by the SUVmax of jugular vein. The SUVmax of spleen, bone-marrow (BM), and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) were used for the assessment of systemic inflammatory activity. Results VAT SUVmax was highest in participants with AMI, intermediate in participants with CSA, and lowest in control participants. Carotid artery TBR and systemic inflammatory surrogate markers including spleen SUVmax, BM SUVmax, and hsCRP were also higher in the AMI group than in the CSA or control group. Furthermore, VAT SUVmax showed significant positive correlation with carotid artery TBR, spleen SUVmax, BM SUVmax, and hsCRP. In multivariate linear regression and logistic regression analyses, VAT SUVmax was independently associated with carotid artery TBR and AMI. Conclusions Glucose uptake of VAT assessed by 18F-FDG PET/CT was associated with the severity of CAD and synchronized with the carotid artery inflammation in participants with CAD.
