Abstract
This review aims to be a comprehensive, authoritative, critical, and accessible review of general interest to the chemistry community; because the electrophilicity index is a very useful global reactivity descriptor defined within a conceptual density functional theory framework. Our group has also introduced electrophilicity based new global and local reactivity descriptors and also new associated electronic structure principles, which are important indicators of structure, stability, bonding, reactivity, interactions, and dynamics in a wide variety of physico-chemical systems and processes. This index along with its local counterpart augmented by the associated electronic structure principles could properly explain molecular vibrations, internal rotations and various types of chemical reactions. The concept of the electrophilicity index has been extended to dynamical processes, excited states, confined environment, spin-dependent and temperature-dependent situations, biological activity, site selectivity, aromaticity, charge removal and acceptance, presence of external perturbation through solvents, external electric and magnetic fields, and so forth. Although electrophilicity and its local variant can adequately interpret the behavior of a wide variety of systems and different physico-chemical processes involving them, their predictive potential remains to be explored. An exhaustive review on all these aspects will set the tone of the future research in that direction.

Abstract
A pair of Al13+ clusters, one perfectly planar (CI) and another quasi-planar structure (CII) have been reported recently by our group [Guin et al. Journal of Molecular Modeling, 2018, 24, 344]. Both these clusters are rare examples of metal-aromatic systems having unique aromatic character. In these clusters, localized strong anti-aromatic deltas are embedded within a strong aromatic sea. The quasi-planar CII structure is a true minimum structure with zero imaginary frequency, but the planar CI structure has been found to have three imaginary frequencies. Further search for a possible transition structure (CT) with single imaginary frequency was successful, which shows that CT structure is also quasi-planar but the tail region of this cluster is puckered downward as compared to that of the CII cluster for which tail region is puckered upward. A comparative electronic structural analysis of these three clusters have been carried out which has provided insight into the way the transformation among the three states take place. Harmonic frequency analysis of these clusters reveals that transition from CT to CII occurs through the planar cluster CI that appears to have an intermediate geometry between the downwardly puckered CT and the upwardly puckered CII. A comparative NICS, ELF, AIM and LOL analysis of all three clusters reveal that the global aromatic nature increases in the sequence CT, CI, CII. A TDDFT study reveals that the oscillator strength of both CT and CII cluster is quite close to each other, which are one order of magnitude higher than the planar CI cluster.

Abstract
A new polydentate fac-trioxo molybdenum complex, [MoO(3)L](3-) {LH(3) = nitrilotriacetic acid}, has been synthesized by the reaction of lithium molybdate with iminodiacetic acid. The trinegative complex anion coordinates the alkali metal cations, K(+), Rb(+) or Cs(+). The potassium, rubidium and cesium complexes, [Li{K(H(2)O)(2)}MoO(3)L](n) (1), [Li{Rb(H(2)O)(2)}MoO(3)L](n) (2) and [Cs{Li(H(2)O)}(2)MoO(3)L](n) (3), form heterotrimetallic coordination chains, containing planar rings of Li(2)M(2) (M = K or Rb) and Cs(4). Theoretical investigations on these rings were carried out using NICS calculations and ab initio ring current maps, revealing aromaticity to be of limited significance.

Abstract
The aromaticity in the polyacene analogues of several inorganic ring compounds (BN-acenes, CN-acenes, AlN-acenes, BO-acenes, BS-acenes, and Na6-acenes) is reported here for the first time. Conceptual density functional theory-based reactivity descriptors and the nucleus-independent chemical shift (NICS) values are used in this analysis. The nature of the site selectivity is understood through the charges and the philicities.
