Abstract
A growing focus on the use of coordination polymers for active device applications motivates the search for candidate materials with integrated and optimized charge transport modes. We show herein the synthesis of a linear coordination polymer comprised of Mo2(INA)4 (INA = isonicotinate) metal–organic clusters. Single-crystal X-ray structure determination shows that this cluster crystallizes into one-dimensional molecular chains, whose INA-linked Mo2 cores engage in alternate axial and equatorial binding motifs along the chain axis. Electron paramagnetic resonance spectra, absorption spectra, and density functional theory calculations show that the aforementioned linear coordination environment significantly modifies the electronic structure of the clusters. This work expands the synthetic foundation for assembly of coordination polymers with tailorable dimensionalities and charge transport properties. Abstract
The reaction of cis-[Mo2(O2C-Fc)2(NCCH3)4][BF4]2 (cis-1) with two electronically different N,N'-diarylformamidinate (DArF) ligands (DArF = N,N'-bis(p-trifluoromethylphenyl)formamidinate (DTfmpF), N,N'-bis(p-anisyl)formamidinate (DAniF)) results in the isolation of the tris- and monosubstituted complexes [Mo2(DTfmpF)3(O2C-Fc)] (2a) and [Mo2(DAniF)(O2C-Fc)3] (2b). These complexes complete the series of [Mo2(DArF)n(O2C-Fc)4-n] (n = 4-0) type compounds, thus allowing for a comprehensive study. On the basis of the oxidation potential E1/2([Mo2](4+)/[Mo2](5+)) of all Mo2 complexes, ligand basicity is found to decrease in the order DAniF(-) > DTfmpF(-) > Fc-CO2(-) ≫ CH3CN. In addition, no direct electronic interaction between the trans-positioned Fc units in complex 2b is detected, which is attributed to the full overlap of all Fc oxidation processes. Furthermore, the low-energy absorption bands of compounds 2a,b are located at different positions in their respective UV-vis spectra.

Abstract
In the title compound, [CuCl2(C7H7NO2)2], the square-planar-coordinated Cu(II) ion lies on a centre of symmetry and is bonded to two monodentate methyl-isonicotinate ligands through their N atoms and by two chloride ligands. The mol-ecules pack in a herringbone pattern. Perpendicular to [100] there are weak inter-molecular C-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯O contacts. Along [100] there are infinite chains of edge-sharing octa-hedra linked through the chlorido ligands.

Abstract
The synthesis and characterization of five C-C coupling products obtained from the reaction of a paddlewheel tetrakis 4-bromo-N,N'-diphenylbenzamidinate dirhodium dimer with 4-pyridineboronic acid pinacol ester are reported. The coupling reactions occur on one to four amidinate ligands, leading to rhodium dimers containing [tetrakis, tris, cis-bis, trans-bis, or mono]-N,N'-diphenyl-4-(pyridin-4-yl)benzamidinate ligands, effectively creating new binding sites on the metal complexes. The new compounds were isolated by column chromatography, and the exact conformations were verified by X-ray crystallography. Redox processes showed only a small variation within the coupling products and included two oxidations (1.30 ± 0.02 V, 0.27 ± 0.01 V vs SCE) and one reduction (-1.55 ± 0.02 V vs SCE), all centered on the Rh-Rh core. Time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) was used to analyze this series with four other fully characterized N,N'-diphenyl-aryl-amidinate rhodium dimers that were found in the literature. The two main absorption bands of these nine rhodium dimers were compared to TD-DFT calculations, both giving excellent correlation. The first, a metal-to-metal (MM) transition around 11800 cm(-1) (845 nm) was blue-shifted in the calculation, with an average difference of 1378 cm(-1) but had only a 15 cm(-1) standard deviation, showing a strong correlation despite the energy difference. The second, a metal-to-ligand charge transfer (MLCT) transition around 18900 cm(-1) (530 nm) was a near perfect match with only a 64 cm(-1) average difference and a 35 cm(-1) standard deviation. The electronic transition, redox potentials, and HOMO and LUMO energies of all dimers were plotted versus the Hammett parameter (σ) of the aryl group and Taft's model with 2 components: field effects (σF) and resonance (σR). The properties involving only the Rh-Rh core (MM band, all oxidation potentials, HOMO and LUMO) were fit with a single set of σF and σR contributions (73% and 27%), with a goodness-of-fit (R(2)) value ranging from 90% to 99.7%. The metal-dimer to ligand charge-transfer band, involving the amidinate ligand, displayed different values of contribution with 45% and 55% for the σF and σR, respectively, with a fit of 94.8%. The accuracy of these fits enables the designed modification of amidinate-based dirhodium complexes to achieve desirable redox and spectroscopic properties.

Abstract
A series of dinuclear pyridine-4-thiolate (4-Spy)-bridged rhodium and iridium compounds [M(μ-4-Spy)(diolef)]2 [diolef = 1,5-cyclooctadiene (cod), M = Rh (1), Ir (2); diolef = 2,5-norbornadiene (nbd), M = Rh (3)] were prepared by the reaction of Li(4-Spy) with the appropriate compound [M(μ-Cl)(diolef)]2 (M = Rh, Ir). The dinuclear compound [Rh(μ-4-Spy)(CO)(PPh3)]2 (4) was obtained by the reaction of [Rh(acac)(CO)(PPh3)] (acac = acetylacetonate) with 4-pySH. Compounds 1-4 were assessed as metalloligands in self-assembly reactions with the cis-blocked acceptors [M(cod)(NCCH3)2](BF4) [M = Rh (a), Ir (b)] and [M(H2O)2(dppp)](OTf)2 [M = Pd (c), Pt (d); dppp = 1,3-bis(diphenylphosphino)propane]. The homometallic hexanuclear metallomacrocycles [{M2(μ-4-Spy)2(cod)2}2{M(cod)}2](BF4)2 (M = Rh [(1a)2], Ir [(2b)2]) and the heterometallic hexanuclear metallomacrocycles [{Rh2(μ-4-Spy)2(cod)2}2{Ir(cod)}2](BF4)2 [(1b)2], [{Rh2(μ-4-Spy)2(cod)2}2{M'(dppp)}2](OTf)4 (M' = Pd [(1c)2], Pt [(1d)2]), and [{Ir2(μ-4-Spy)2(cod)2}2{M'(dppp)}2](OTf)4 (M' = Pd [(2c)2], Pt [(2d)2]) were obtained. NMR spectroscopy in combination with electrospray ionization mass spectrometry was used to elucidate the nature of the metalloligands and their respective supramolecular assemblies. Most of the synthesized species were found to be nonrigid in solution, and their fluxional behavior was studied by variable-temperature (1)H NMR spectroscopy. An X-ray diffraction study of the assemblies (1a)2 and (1d)2 revealed the formation of rectangular (9.6 Å × 6.6 Å) hexanuclear metallomacrocycles with alternating dinuclear (Rh2) and mononuclear (Rh or Pt) corners. The hexanuclear core is supported by four pyridine-4-thiolate linkers, which are bonded through the thiolate moieties to the dinuclear rhodium units, exhibiting a bent-anti arrangement, and through the peripheral pyridinic nitrogen atoms to the mononuclear corners.

Abstract
On the basis of a combination of new structural data (eleven single-crystal structure determinations are presented) and information from the Cambridge Structural Database, it has been shown that self-complementary hydrogen-bond based amide...amide dimers can be relied upon as effective supramolecular synthons for the assembly and organization of acac- and paddle-wheel complexes of a variety of metal(II) ions. The targeted molecular recognition event and intended extended one-dimensional motif appear with a supramolecular yield of 78% (a total of 28 structures were examined). Despite the fact that the hydrogen bonds that give rise to the R2(2)(8) motif can be disrupted by both carboxylate- and acac-ligands, as well as by solvent molecules, they remain remarkably resilient and therefore represent useful synthetic tools in inorganic crystal engineering.
