Abstract
In the present study, we reported the synthesis of a novel quinoline-based dendrimer-like ionic liquid. After characterization of the mentioned ionic liquid with suitable techniques such as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), elemental mapping, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and derivative thermogravimetry (DTG), its catalytic performance was investigated in the synthesis of new pyridines with sulfonamide moiety via a cooperative vinylogous anomeric-based oxidation mechanism under mild reaction conditions. All target molecules were achieved in short reaction times and high yields.

Abstract
The condensation of 5-aminopyrazole with various bielectrophilic moieties results in the formation of pyrazoloazines, an interesting array of fused heterocyclic systems. The development of new synthetic routes towards pyrazoloazines for their biological and medicinal exploration is an attractive area for researchers throughout the world. The present review focuses on various synthetic methods developed in the last decade for the synthesis of differently substituted pyrazoloazines by a broad range of organic reactions by means of 5-aminopyrazole as a precursor.

Abstract
A novel series of fully substituted pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridines 4 has been prepared in a regioselective manner by the microwave-assisted reaction between N-substituted 5-aminopyrazoles 1 and 3-(3-oxo-2-benzofuran-1(3H)-ylidene)pentane-2,4-dione (2). This is the second reported example of a cyclocondensation reaction using substrate 2 as a 1,3-bis-electrophilic reagent. Remarkably, this synthesis offers functionalized products with acetyl and carboxyl groups in one step, in good yields, and with short reaction times. Additionally, the cyclization intermediate 3 was isolated, allowing us to postulate a mechanism for this reaction, which is initiated via isobenzofuranone ring opening of 2 in a Michael-type reaction. The structures of the products and regioselectivity of the reactions were determined on the basis of NMR measurements and X-ray diffraction. For this new reaction using substrate 2, the optimal reaction conditions and its scope were investigated.

Abstract
A series of novel pyrido[2',3':3,4] pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine derivatives 6-9 were prepared in single step starting from 3-amino-6-(trifluoromethyl)-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridine-5-carboxylate 5 on reaction with symmetrical and unsymmetrical aliphatic and aromatic 1,3-diketones/α,β unsaturated ketones/α,β unsaturated keto ethers under conventional method. All the final compounds 6a-c, 8a-b and 9a-l were screened for anticancer activity against five human cancer cell lines such as PC-3 (CRL-1435), MDA-MB-231 (HTB-26), Hep G2 (HB-8065), HeLa (CCL-2) and normal HUVEC (CRL-1730). Compounds 8a, 9f and 9k which showed promising anticancer activity have been identified. Further, the promising compounds (8a and 9f) were able to inhibit the human topoisomerase I (TopI) activity similar to that of camptothecin.

Abstract
The stereoselective syntheses of a library of novel spiro-tethered pyrazolo[3,4-b]quinoline-pyrrolidine/pyrrolothiazole/indolizine-oxindole/acenaphthene hybrid heterocycles have been achieved through the 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of azomethine ylides generated in situ from α-amino acids and 1,2-diketones to dipolarophiles derived from pyrazolo[3,4-b]quinoline derivatives.

Abstract
Condensed pyrazole derivatives are important heterocyclic compounds due to their excellent biological activities and have been widely applied in pharmaceutical and agromedical fields. In recent years, numerous condensed pyrazole derivatives have been synthesized and advanced to clinic studies with various biological activities. In this review, we summarized the reported synthesis methods of condensed pyrazole derivatives from 2010 until now. All compounds are divided into three parts according to the rings connected to pyrazole-ring, i.e. [5, 5], [5,F 6], and [5, 7]-condensed pyrazole derivatives. The biological activities and applications in pharmaceutical fields are briefly introduced to offer an orientation for the design and synthesis of condensed pyrazole derivatives with good biological activities.

Abstract
I2-promoted domino reactions of isatins or 3-hydroxyindolin-2-one derivatives with enaminones under O2 conditions have been established. The reactions of isatins with enaminones afforded functionalized tetracyclic pyrrolo[2,3,4-kl]acridine derivatives in moderate to good yields through domino cyclization and C-H oxidation. The reactions of 3-hydroxyindolin-2-one derivatives with enaminones proceeded well to give functionalized pyrrolo[2,3,4-kl]acridine derivatives via tandem ring-opening/recyclization/methyl migration sequences with two C-C bonds cleaved.

Abstract
Multicomponent reactions of acenaphthylene-1,2-dione with diaroylmethanes and electron-rich pyrazol-5-amines have been discovered. A series of new and polyfunctionalized pentacyclic pyrazole-fused naphtho[1,8-fg]isoquinolines were regioselectively synthesized. The reactions were easy to perform simply by mixing three common reactants in AcOH. During these reaction processes, the insertion of active methylene of diaroylmethane into the sp(2)-sp(2) C-C bond of the cyclohexa-2,5-dienone ring was readily achieved and two C-C bonds were cleaved under transition-metal-free conditions.
