Abstract
In this study, all electron relativistic calculations with 4-component Dirac-Coulomb-Breit (DCB), 4-component Dirac-Coulomb (DC), Dyall's spin-free Dirac-Coulomb (SFDC), exact two-component (X2C) and Levy-Leblond non-relativistic hamiltonians calculations were performed in polyatomic closed shell E121X3 (X = F, Cl, Br) within density functional theory (DFT) with hybrid functional B3LYP, where E121 is the superheavy element (SHE) with Z = 121. The aims of this study were to investigate relativistic effects in polyatomic E121X3 (X = F, Cl, Br) and verify the importance of Gaunt effects. The results demonstrate that although the effect of Gaunt interaction is small on change equilibrium bond lengths and bonding, it is important to obtain reliable vibrational frequencies. Moreover, it is possible to use the X2C spin-free hamiltonian to lower computational costs in a fully relativistic investigation of polyatomics including the SHE of the 8th period. Finally, a comparison between electron localization function (ELF) analysis and Mulliken population analysis suggests bonding similarity between LaBr3 and E121Br3. Graphical Abstract Relativistic 4-Component calculations suggest bond similarity between LaBr3 and E121Br3.

Abstract
Two structural isomers containing five second-row element atoms with 24 valence electrons were generated and identified by matrix-isolation IR spectroscopy and quantum chemical calculations. The OCBNO complex, which is produced by the reaction of boron atoms with mixtures of carbon monoxide and nitric oxide in solid neon, rearranges to the more stable OBNCO isomer on UV excitation. Bonding analysis indicates that the OCBNO complex is best described by the bonding interactions between a triplet-state boron cation with an electron configuration of (2s)0 (2pσ )0 (2pπ )2 and the CO/NO- ligands in the triplet state forming two degenerate electron-sharing π bonds and two ligand-to-boron dative σ bonds.

Abstract
The elusive heterocumulenic radical OCCNO˙ and its isotopologues OC13CNO˙ and OCC15NO˙ have been prepared by reacting photolytically generated unsaturated carbene OCC/OC13C with ˙NO/15˙NO in cryogenic N2-, Ar-, and Ne-matrices. Upon UV-light (365 nm) irradiation, the C-C bond in OCCNO˙ breaks and yields a long-sought ground-state radical CNO˙ (X2Π), which has also been identified with matrix-isolation infrared spectroscopy.

Abstract
Abstract
Theoretical chemical studies demonstrated crucial importance of relativistic effects in the physics and chemistry of superheavy elements (SHEs). Performed, with many of them, in a close link to the experimental research, those investigations have shown that relativistic effects determine periodicities in physical and chemical properties of the elements in the chemical groups and rows of the Periodic Table beyond the 6th one. They could, however, also lead to some deviations from the established trends, so that the predictive power of the Periodic Table in this area may be lost. Results of those studies are overviewed here, with comparison to the recent experimental investigations.

Abstract
DFT calculations were carried out on a series of tetrahedral 16-atom superatomic clusters having 20 or 18 jellium electrons (je) and structurally related to Au20, namely, [M16]4-/2- (M = Cu, Ag, and Au) and [M4'M12'']0/2+ (M' = Zn, Cd, Hg; M'' = Cu, Ag, Au). While the bare homonuclear 20-je species required further stabilization to be isolated, their 18-je counterparts exhibited better stability. Lowering the electron count led to structural modification from a compact structure (20-je) to a hollow sphere (18-je). Such a change could be potentially controlled by tuning redox properties. Among the 20-je heteronuclear [M4'M12''] neutral series, [Zn4Au12] appeared to meet the best stability criteria, but their 18-je relatives [M4'M12'']+, in particular [Zn4Cu12]2+ and [Cd4Au12]2+, offered better opportunities for obtaining stable species. Such species exhibit the smallest models for the M(111) surface of fcc metals, which expose designing rules towards novel high-dopant-ratio clusters as building blocks of nanostructured materials.

Abstract
The small C28 cage has been shown experimentally to encapsulate titanium, zirconium, and hafnium (M), among other elements. Here, we explore computationally its magnetic response properties accounting for both global and local shielding tensors. Our results exhibit a continuous shielding region for M@C28 for an orientation-averaged applied field thereby differing from that observed for the hollow C28 structure. Moreover, under a specific orientation of the applied field a long-ranged shielding cone is obtained supporting the spherical aromatic behavior expected by the 2(N + 1)2 Hirsch rule for M@C28, standing for its particular abundance. The comparison between the hollow and endohedral C28 fullerenes exhibits a characteristic long-range behavior at the outside region of the structure. The particular shape of the local chemical shift anisotropy tensor at a representative carbon atom exhibits inherent patterns as a consequence of the spherical aromatic behavior. This shows the capabilities from NMR experiments to account for the nonaromatic → aromatic variation. We envisage that the current approach will be beneficial in comparative studies of aromatic and electronic structure properties, to gain a deeper understanding of the geometrical and electronic structure situation in other endohedral species beyond that available from the information provided by routine NMR measurements.

Abstract
The unprecedented, fully deprotonated form of acetonitrile, the acetonitriletriide anion CCN3- , is experimentally realized for the first time in the stabilizing bulk host framework of the Ba5 [TaN4 ][C2 N] nitridometalate via a one-pot synthesis from the elements under moderate conditions (920 K). The molecular structure of this long-sought acetonitrile derivative is confirmed by X-ray diffraction, as well as NMR, IR, and Raman spectroscopy. The anion is isoelectronic to the CO2 molecule, and, in contrast to acetonitrile (H3 C-C≡N), the electron pairs are shifted towards two double bonds, that is, [C=C=N]3- .

Abstract
The Structural theory of chemistry introduces chemical/molecular structure as a combination of relative arrangement and bonding patterns of atoms in a molecule. Nowadays, the structure of atoms in molecules is derived from the topological analysis of the quantum theory of atoms in molecules (QTAIM). In this context, a molecular structure is varied by large geometrical variations and concomitant reorganization of electronic structure that usually take place in chemical reactions or under extreme hydrostatic pressure. In this report, a new mode of structural variation is introduced within the context of the newly proposed multi-component QTAIM (MC-QTAIM) that originates from the mass variation of nuclei. Accordingly, XCN and CNX series of species are introduced where X stands for a quantum particle with a unit of positive charge and a variable mass that is varied in discrete steps between the mass of a proton and a positron. Ab initio non-Born-Oppenheimer (non-BO) calculations are done on both series of species and the resulting non-BO wavefunctions are used for the MC-QTAIM analysis, revealing a triatomic structure for the proton mass and a diatomic structure for the positron mass. In both series of species, a critical mass between that of proton and positron mass is discovered where the transition from triatomic to diatomic structure takes place. This abrupt structural transformation has a topological nature resembling the usual phase transitions in thermodynamics. The discovered mass-induced structural transformation is a hidden aspect of the Structural theory which is revealed only beyond the BO paradigm, when nuclei are treated as quantum waves instead of clamped point charges.

Abstract
A theoretical study at the ab initio MP2/6-311++G(d,p) level of theory is carried out to characterize several heterocyclic spiro[2.2]pentane cations with N, P, and As as spiro atoms. The strain and relative stability of the spiropentanes are obtained through isodesmic reactions. Nucleus-independent chemical shifts (NICS) and 3D NICS isosurfaces show σ-aromatic characteristics, similar to those found in cyclopropane. The interaction with the Cl(-) anion, which results in four different stationary structures, is studied and characterized by means of the atoms in molecules methodology, and Cl⋅⋅⋅pnicogen, Cl⋅⋅⋅H, and Cl⋅⋅⋅C interactions are found. The most stable structure in all cases corresponds to opening of one of the three-membered rings, due to the attack of the Cl atom, and C-Cl bond formation. Furthermore, the reaction with the 3-boranuidaspiro[2.2]pentane anion results in the formation of a new compound through cleavage of one ring of both reactants.

Abstract
This paper studies Xe-insertion ethylene and ethane compounds, i.e., HXeC2H3 and HXeC2H5. The structures, harmonic frequencies, and energetics for both molecules have been calculated at the MP2(full)/6-311++G(2d,2p) level. Our theoretical results predict the existence of HXeC2H3 and the instability of HXeC2H5. Natural bond orbital (NBO) analysis shows a strong ionic bond between the xenon atom and hydrocarbon radical. In addition, the interaction between the donor (Xe lone pair) and acceptor (the C-C antibonding orbital, i.e., π*(C-C)) increases the stability of HXeC2H3.
