Abstract
This work presents two isostructural Cu(I)-I 2-fluoropyrazine (Fpyz) luminescent and semiconducting 2D coordination polymers (CPs). Hydrothermal synthesis allows the growth of P-1 space group single crystals, whereas solvent-free synthesis produces polycrystals. Via recrystallization in acetonitrile, P21 space group single crystals are obtained. Both show a reversible luminescent response to temperature and pressure. Structure determination by single-crystal X-ray diffraction at 200 and 100 K allows us to understand their response as a function of temperature. Applying hydrostatic/uniaxial pressure or grinding also generates significant variations in their emission. The high structural flexibility of the Cu(I)-I chain is significantly linked to the corresponding alterations in structure. Remarkably, pressure can increase the conductivity by up to 3 orders of magnitude. Variations in resistivity are consistent with changes in the band gap energy. The experimental results are in agreement with the DFT calculations. These properties may allow the use of these CPs as optical pressure or temperature sensors. In addition, their behavior as a heterogeneous photocatalyst of persistent organic dyes has also been investigated.

Abstract
Three coordination polymers (CPs 1-3) are prepared based on diverse electron-donating properties and coordination arrangements of conjugated ligands. Interestingly, this is also reflected in their photophysical properties. The distinguishable high emissive nature of the luminescent coordination polymer shows its potentiality toward the detection of the perilous substance 2,4,6-trinitrophenol (TNP) or picric acid (PA). TNP has a higher propensity among explosive nitroaromatic compounds (epNACs) due to its significant π···π interaction with the free benzene moieties present in the CPs. Among CPs 1-3, 2 exhibits the highest sensitivity and selectivity toward TNP because of the most favorable π-π stacking with the conjugated organic linker. The calculated limit of detection (LOD) and corresponding quenching constant (KSV) from the Stern-Volmer (SV) plot for 1, 2, and 3 are found to be 0.68 μM and 7.49 × 104 M-1, 0.41 μM and 8.01 × 104 M-1, and 1.18 μM and 8.1 × 104 M-1, respectively. The fluorescence quenching mechanism is also highly influenced by their structure and coordination arrangement.

Abstract
Nano-fluorescent metal-organic frameworks (NF-MOFs), a kind of newly emerged nano-scaled platform, can provide visual, rapid, and highly sensitive optical imaging of cancer lesions both in vitro and in vivo. Meanwhile, the excellent porosity, structural tunability, and chemical modifiability also enable NF-MOFs to achieve simultaneous loading of targeted molecules and therapeutic agents. These NF-MOFs not only possess excellent targeted imaging ability, but also can guide the carried cargos to perform precise therapy, drawing considerable attention in current framework of anticancer drug design. In this review, we outline the fluorescence types and response mechanisms of NF-MOFs, and highlight their applications in cancer diagnosis and therapy in recent years. Based on this panorama, we also discuss current issues and future trends of NF-MOFs in biomedical fields, attempting to clarify the potential value of fluorescence imaging guided anticancer investigations.

Abstract
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), which are a class of coordination polymers constructed by metal ions or clusters with organic ligands, have emerged as exciting inorganic-organic hybrid materials with the superiorities of inherent crystallinity, adjustable pore size, clear structure, and high degree of functionalization. The MOFs have attracted much attention to develop good luminescent functional materials due to their inherent luminescent centers of both inorganic and organic photonic units. Furthermore, the pores within MOFs can also be used to encapsulate a large number of luminescent guest species, which provides a broader luminescent property for MOF materials. MOFs possess the incomparable multifunctional advantages of inorganic and organic luminescent materials. A large number of luminescent MOFs (LMOFs) have been synthesized for applications in sensing, white-light-emitting diodes (LED), photocatalysis, biomedicine, etc. This paper reviews the encapsulation of various luminescent guests such as lanthanide ions, dyes, quantum dots, and luminescent complexes in metal-organic frameworks to construct luminous sensors with single- or double-emission centers, as well as the research progress of these sensors in chemical sensing. Finally, the challenges in these fields were outlined and the prospects for future development were put forward.

Abstract
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are a class of hybrid materials with many promising applications. In recent years, lots of investigations have been oriented toward applications of MOFs in electronic and photoelectronic devices. While many high-quality reviews have focused on synthesis and mechanisms of electrically conductive MOFs, few of them focus on their photophysical properties. Herein, we provide an in-depth review on photoconductive and photoluminescent properties of conductive MOFs together with their corresponding applications in solar cells, luminescent sensing, light emitting, and so forth. For integration of MOFs with practical devices, recent advances in fabrication of photoactive MOF thin films are also summarized.

Abstract
Methylene bridged 2,2'-dipyridylamine (dpa) derivatives and their metal complexes possess outstanding properties due to their inherent structural flexibility. Synthesis of such complexes typically involves derivatization of dpa followed by coordination on metals, and may not always be very efficient. In this work, an alternative synthetic approach, involving the derivatization step after - rather than prior to - coordination of dpa on metal center, is proposed and applied to synthesis of a number of platinum(ii) complexes with substituted benzyldi(2-pyridyl)amines. Comparison with the more conventional synthetic route reveals greater efficiency and versatility of the proposed approach. The obtained complexes are not luminescent in solution at room temperature, but display blue phosphorescence emission (ca. 415 nm) with the lifetimes of μs order in glassy matrix at 77 K, with additional green (ca. 485 nm) and relatively long living (τ = 3.7 ms) emission in the case of iodine substituted derivative.

Abstract
Under hydro(solvo)thermal conditions, four organic bidentate bridging N,N'-donor ligands 1,3-bis(2-methylimidazol-1-yl)propane (L1), 4,4'-di(1H-imidazol-1-yl)-1,1'-biphenyl (L2), 1,2-bis(2-methyl-1H-imidazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene (L3) and 5,6,7,8-tetrahydroquinoxaline (L4) were employed to react with CuBr/CuI, generating four 2-D layered copper(i)-polymer coordination polymer materials [Cu2Br2(L1)] 1, [CuI(L2)] 2, [CuI(L3)] 3 and [CuI(L4)0.5] 4. In 1-4, different Cu-X motifs are found: a cubic Cu4Br4 core in 1; a castellated Cu-I single chain in 2; a rhombic Cu2I2 core in 3; and a staircase-like Cu-I double chain in 4. The 2-D layer networks of 1-3 can all be simplified into a simple 44 topology (planar for 1 and 3; wave-like for 2), while the 2-D layer network of 4 has a 63 topology. The photoluminescence behaviors of 1-4 under a UV lamp suggest that 1 and 2 possess fluorescence thermochromism properties. Under the UV lamp, with the decrease in temperature, (i) 1 exhibits a yellow-to-red emission; (ii) 2 exhibits a yellow-to-green emission; (iii) 3 always emits green light; and (iv) 4 never emits light. These are further confirmed by their emission spectra. From 297 K to 77 K, the emission of 1 exhibits a large red shift from 561 nm to 623 nm; the emission of 2 exhibits a large blue shift from 571 nm to 515 nm; only a minor red shift is observed for the emission of 3; and no peaks appear in the emission spectra of 4. The crystal data of 1 and 2 at different temperatures have been collected for revealing the origination of their fluorescence thermochromism properties. Based on the above investigations, the effect of the rigidity/flexibility of the organic ligand on the fluorescence thermochromism properties of copper(i)-polymer coordination polymer materials is discussed. The quantum yields at 297 K and the photoluminescence lifetimes at 297 K and 77 K for 1-3 were also measured for better understanding their photoluminescence properties.

Abstract
The synthesis of the ligand systems L1 and L2 with two different N3-binding sites linked through a dibenzofuran spacer and their coordination properties towards a variety of CuI precursors are reported. The reaction of L1 with copper halides leads to the formation of a bimetallic species [(L1)(CuICl)2] (1), and metallodimers [((L1)(CuIX)2)2(μ-(Cu)(μ-X)2)] (2: X = Br, 3: X = I) in which two dicopper complexes are bridged by a (μ-(Cu)(μ-X)2)-moiety whereas L2 reacts with copper chloride to afford {[Cu(L2)Cl2]}n (8). Furthermore, starting from L1 in combination with copper(i) salts of weakly coordinating anions the dicopper complexes [(L1)(CuI(NCCH3))2](BF4)2 (4), [(L1)(CuI(NCCH3))(Cu(Y))](Y) (5: Y = OTf, 6: Y = ClO4) and [(L1)(Cu(dppe))](PF6)2 (7) were isolated, and employing L2, the complexes [(L2)(CuI(NCCH3))2](Z)2 (9: Z = PF6, 10: Z = OTf) and [(L2)(Cu(dppe))](PF6)2 (11) were obtained. Complexes 4-6 as well as 9 and 10 react rapidly with O2 to form metastable O2 adducts in acetone at -90 °C, where O2 is bound between the two copper centers within one dicopper molecule, as evidenced by UV/Vis spectroscopy, kinetic investigations, Raman spectroscopy and studies with ligands containing the isolated donor sites. The reactivity of the O2 adducts towards selected substrates was also investigated, showing their ability to act as electrophiles as well as nucleophiles.

Abstract
The ligand tppda has been designed and synthesized as molecular leverage for helicity control when reacted with Cd(2+) ions. The guests MeOH or DMF preferentially stabilize the P-helical isomer, while the guest H2O causes a helix inversion to give the M-helical isomer as the major isomer without any chiral auxiliary.
