Abstract
Two azido-bridged homospin Fe(ii)/Co(ii) coordination polymers [Fe2(Bzp)2(N3)4]n (1) and [Co4(Bzp)4(N3)8·(MeOH)2]n (2) (bzp = 2-benzoylpyridine) are prepared, which consist of one-dimensional neutral chains with pure EO-azido (μ2-1,1-N3) bridges. Magnetically, both 1 and 2 exhibit considerable intrachain ferromagnetic interactions which benefit from the EO-azido bridging mode, leading to typical single-chain magnet (SCM) behavior under both the "infinite-size" and "finite-size" regime and pronounced hysteresis loops. As far as the bridging network is concerned, complex 1 represents not only a rare example of homospin Fe(ii)-based SCMs but also the first Fe(ii) chain compound with pure EO-azido bridges.

Abstract
This Paper reports the first examples of O-P-O bridged Mn2(salen)2 (salen = N,N'-bis(salicylidene)ethylenediamine) chain compounds, namely, [Mn2(salen)2(2-FC6H4PO3H)](ClO4)·1/2CH3OH (1) and [Mn2(salen)2(4-FC6H4PO3H)](ClO4) (2). The phosphonate ligands adopt a syn-anti bidentate bridging mode in 1 and a syn-syn bidentate bridging mode in 2, originated from the isomeric phosphonate ligands. The different bridging modes cause a significant change in the Mn-O···O-Mn torsion angle over the O-P-O bridge, which are 96.6 and 1.9° for 1 and 2, respectively. As a result, the antiferromagnetic (AF) exchange couplings mediated through the O-P-O pathway are extremely weak in 1, and the overall magnetic behaviors are dominated by the Mn2(salen)2 moieties. Single-molecule magnetic behavior is observed in 1. For compound 2, the AF interaction over the O-P-O bridge is much stronger. The coexistence of metamagnetism and single-chain magnetic behavior is observed for 2.

Abstract
Four new oxo-centered Mn(III)-salicylaldoximate triangle-based extended complexes [Mn(III)6O2(salox)6(EtOH)4(phda)]n·(saloxH2)n·(2H2O)n (1), [Mn(III)6O2(salox)6(MeOH)5(5-I-isoph)]n·(3MeOH)n (2), [Mn(III)6O2(salox)6(MeOH)4(H2O) (5-N3-isoph)]n·(4MeOH)n (3) and [Mn(III)3NaO(salox)3(MeOH)4(5-NO2-isoph)]n·(MeOH)n (H2O)n (4) [salox=salicylaldoximate, phda=1,3-phenylenediacetate, isoph=isophthalate] have been synthesized under similar reaction conditions. Single crystal X-ray structures show that in 1, only one type of Mn6 cluster is arranged in 1D, whereas in 2 and 3 there are two types of clusters, differing in the way the triangle units are joined and assembled. In complex 4, however, the basic building structure is heteronuclear and based on Mn3 units extended in 2D. Susceptibility measurements (dc and ac) over a wide range of temperatures and fields show that the complexes 1, 2, and 3 behave as single molecule magnets (SMMs) with S=4 ground state, while 4 is dominantly antiferromagnetic with a ground spin state S=2. Density functional theory calculations have been performed on model complexes to provide a qualitative theoretical interpretation for their overall magnetic behavior.
