Abstract
The present study reports synthesis of phenathroimidazole derivatives structures following donor-acceptor relation for high performance deep-blue light emitting diodes. Herein, methyl substituted benzodioxin-6-amine phenanthroimidazoles Cz-SBDPI and TPA-SBDPI derivatives that provide the blue light were designed and synthesized. These Cz-SBDPI and TPA-SBDPI show higher glass transition (Tg) temperatures of 199 and 194 °C and demonstrate enhanced thermal properties. Apart from enhanced thermal stability these compounds also exhibit superior photophysical, electrochemical and electroluminescent properties. The non-doped carbazole based device display improved electroluminescent performances than those of TPA-based devices. The strong orbital-coupling due to decreased energy barrier between Cz-SBDPI transitions result in deep blue emission with CIE-0.15, 0.06. For non-doped Cz-SBDPI device; high L (brightness):12,984 cd/m2; ηc (current efficiency): 5.9 cd/A; ηp (power efficiency): 5.7 lm/W and ηex (external quantum efficiency): 6.2% was observed. The results show that the D-A emitters can serve as simple but also as an effective approach to devise cheap electroluminescent materials that has high efficiency and can serve as OLED devices.

Abstract
The supramolecular assemblies of the donor-acceptor (D-A) system Im-Tpy, having phenanthro[9,10-d]imidazole as the donor and terpyridyl group as the acceptor unit, have been developed, which serve as supramolecular host to stabilize Co(II) in its nanoform. The as-prepared supramolecular nanoensemble Im-Tpy@Co in DMSO:water (7:3) shows high thermal stability and photostability. Even in the case of solvent mismatch, i.e., on dilution with cosolvent THF/DMSO, insignificant changes were observed in the size/morphology of the nanoensemble. The as-prepared Im-Tpy@Co nanoensemble in low catalytic loading (0.1 mol % of Co) catalyzes the oxidation of a wide variety of alcohols to aromatic aldehydes/ketones using visible light radiations as the source of energy without the need of any additive at room temperature. In comparison to already reported systems, the Im-Tpy@Co nanoensemble exhibits high turnover numbers (TONs) and turnover frequencies (TOFs). The practical application of the catalytic system has also been demonstrated in the gram-scale synthesis of 4-chlorobenzaldehyde. The Im-Tpy@Co nanoensemble exhibits recyclability up to four catalytic cycles with insignificant leaching and morphological changes. The present study also demonstrates the catalytic activity of the Im-Tpy@Co nanoensemble in "one-pot" synthesis of quinazolin-4(3H)-ones from 2-aminobenzamide and primary alcohols with better efficiency in comparison to other transition-metal-based catalytic systems.

Abstract
Imidazole-based donor-acceptor materials are well known for their polarity-controlled trade-off phenomenon between the localized excitation-based short-wavelength (SW) emission in nonpolar solvents and charge transfer dominated long-wavelength (LW) emission in polar solvents. To attain concurrent SW- and LW-based dual-emission characteristics, a series of imidazole-based donor-acceptor fluorophores (CBImDCN, TPImDCN, PZImDCN) possessing different electron-donating groups such as carbazole, triphenylamine, and phenothiazine linked via the N-position of the imidazole core unit were synthesized and verified by NMR and mass spectroscopic techniques. As a result, the strong donating TPImDCN and PZImDCN exhibited dual emission in different solvents of varying polarity, covering the blue (SW) and green/orange (LW) regions. On the other hand, in contrast, only an SW emission band is observed with the weak donating CBImDCN. Moreover, PZImDCN shows panchromatic emission under 365 nm illumination, while only orange color emission is observed under visible light excitation, revealing two different origins of SW and LW emissions, as also evidenced from DFT calculations. Overall, this work reveals a new approach for attaining concurrent SW and LW emission characteristics from imidazole-based D-A materials and sheds light on the design and development of novel panchromatic emitters with intriguing properties for lighting and display applications.

Abstract
Herein, new deep-blue triplet-triplet annihilation (TTA) molecules, namely 4-(10-(4-(1,4,5-triphenyl-1H-imidazol-2-yl)phenyl)anthracen-9-yl)benzonitrile (TPIAnCN) and 4-(12-(4-(1,4,5-triphenyl-1H-imidazol-2-yl)phenyl)chrysen-6-yl)benzonitrile (TPIChCN), are designed, synthesized, and investigated as emitters for organic light-emitting diodes (OLED). TPIAnCN and TPIChCN are composed of polyaromatic hydrocarbons of anthracene (An) and chrysene (Ch) as the cores functionalized with tetraphenylimidazole (TPI) and benzonitrile (CN) moieties, respectively. The experimental and theoretical results verify their excellent thermal properties, photophysical properties, as well as electrochemical properties. Particularly, their emissions are in the deep blue region, with TTA emissions being observed in their thin films. By utilization of these molecules as emitters, deep blue TTA OLEDs with CIE coordinates of (0.15, 0.05), high external quantum efficiency of 6.84%, and high exciton utilization efficiency (ηs) of 48% were fabricated. This result manifests the potential use of chrysene as an alternate building block to formulate new TTA molecules for accomplishing high-performance TTA OLEDs.
