Abstract
The hetero photooxidation of sulfide under aqueous conditions is of great importance in the green synthesis of sulfoxide. This process requires a type of solid photocatalyst with the properties of high porosity and water stability, as well as photosensitivity. Herein, a stable Ir-Zr-MOF material (compound 1) with high porosity is assembled from two linear linkers of a 2-phenylquinoline-4-carboxylic acid-Ir(III) complex (Irphen) and 4,4'-stilbenedicarboxylic acid (H2SDC), and a Zr6 cluster. 1 is isostructural to JLU-Liu34 with a composition of [Zr6O4.78(OH)3.22(SDC)3.82(Irphen)0.78TFA2.8]·2.8MeOH and permanent porosity with a BET surface area of 1507 m2 g-1. 1 exhibits improved activity for the photocatalytic aerobic oxidation of sulfide to sulfoxide via blue light irradiation under aqueous conditions. Mechanism studies demonstrate that a superoxide radical is the reactive oxygen species in the sulfide photooxidation. 1 can be readily recycled and reused at least 5 times without loss of catalytic activity. This work not only provides a good strategy for the assembly of an Ir(III) complex into MOFs but also an efficient method for the green synthesis of sulfoxide.

Abstract
The incorporation of electroactive organic building blocks into coordination polymers (CPs) and metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) offers a promising approach for adding electronic functionalities such as redox activity, electrical conductivity, and luminescence to these materials. The incorporation of perylene moieties into CPs is, in particular, of great interest due to its potential to introduce both luminescence and redox properties. Herein, we present an innovative synthesis method for producing a family of highly crystalline and stable coordination polymers based on perylene-3,4,9,10-tetracarboxylate (PTC) and various transition metals (TMs = Co, Ni, and Zn) with an isostructural framework. The crystal structure of the PTC-TM CPs, obtained through powder X-ray diffraction and Rietveld refinement, provides valuable insights into the composition and organization of the building blocks within the CP. The perylene moieties are arranged in a herringbone pattern, with short distances between adjacent ligands, which contributes to the dense and highly organized framework of the material. The photophysical properties of PTC-Zn were thoroughly studied, revealing the presence of J-aggregation-based and monomer-like emission bands. These bands were experimentally identified, and their behavior was further understood through the use of quantum-chemical calculations. Solid-state cyclic voltammetry experiments on PTC-TMs showed that the perylene redox properties are maintained within the CP framework. This study presents a simple and effective approach for synthesizing highly stable and crystalline perylene-based CPs with tunable optical and electrochemical properties in the solid state.

Abstract
A new terthiophene-based imidazole luminophore 5,5’-(1H-thieno[3,4-d]imidazole-4,6-diyl)bis(thiophene-2-carboxylic acid) (TIBTCH2, 5) was synthesized in one step from previously reported 4,6-di(thiophen-2-yl)-1H-thieno[3,4-d]imidazole (DTTI, 4), and their photophysical properties were studied and compared accordingly. Under solvothermal conditions, reacting 5 with Mn(OAc)2 yielded a new three-dimensional metal-organic framework (MOF, 6) which was structurally defined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. In 6, all Mn(II) ions octahedrally bind to carboxylate-O atoms to form a linear Mn3 secondary building unit (SBU) that contains three distinct coordination modes. Importantly, 6 exhibits dual functional properties of ligand-based emission and metal-based magnetic behaviors.

Abstract
Low-dimensional hybrid organic-inorganic metal halides have received increased attention because of their outstanding optical and electronic properties. However, the most studied hybrid compounds contain lead and have long-term stability issues, which must be addressed for their use in practical applications. Here, we report a new zero-dimensional hybrid organic-inorganic halide, RInBr4, featuring photoemissive trimethyl(4-stilbenyl)methylammonium (R+) cations and nonemissive InBr4- tetrahedral anions. The crystal structure of RInBr4 is composed of alternating layers of inorganic anions and organic cations along the crystallographic a axis. The resultant hybrid demonstrates bright-blue emission with Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage color coordinates of (0.19, 0.20) and a high photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) of 16.36% at room temperature, a 2-fold increase compared to the PLQY of 8.15% measured for the precursor organic salt RBr. On the basis of our optical spectroscopy and computational work, the organic component is responsible for the observed blue emission of the hybrid material. In addition to the enhanced light emission efficiency, the novel hybrid indium bromide demonstrates significantly improved environmental stability. These findings may pave the way for the consideration of hybrid organic In(III) halides for light emission applications.

Abstract
Coordination polymers are constructed from metal ions and bridging ligands, linking them into solid-state structures extending in one (1D), two (2D) or three dimensions (3D). Two- and three-dimensional coordination polymers with potential voids are often referred to as metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) or porous coordination polymers. Luminescence is an important property of coordination polymers, often playing a key role in their applications. Photophysical properties of the coordination polymers can be associated with intraligand, metal-centered, guest-centered, metal-to-ligand and ligand-to-metal electron transitions. In recent years, a rapid growth of publications devoted to luminescent or fluorescent coordination polymers can be observed. In this review the use of fluorescent ligands, namely, 4,4'-stilbenedicarboxylic acid, 1,3,4-oxadiazole, thiazole, 2,1,3-benzothiadiazole, terpyridine and carbazole derivatives, naphthalene diimides, 4,4',4''-nitrilotribenzoic acid, ruthenium(II) and iridium(III) complexes, boron-dipyrromethene (BODIPY) derivatives, porphyrins, for the construction of coordination polymers are surveyed. Applications of such coordination polymers based on their photophysical properties will be discussed. The review covers the literature published before April 2020.

Abstract
A heterometallic metal−organic framework (MOF) of [Cd6Ca4(BTB)6(HCOO)2(DEF)2(H2O)12]∙DEF∙xSol (1, H3BTB = benzene-1,3,5-tribenzoic acid; DEF = N,N′-diethylformamide; xSol. = undefined solvates within the pore) was prepared by solvothermal reaction of Cd(NO3)2·4H2O, CaO and H3BTB in a mixed solvent of DEF/H2O/HNO3. The compatibility of these two divalent cations from different blocks of the periodic table results in a solid-state structure consisting of an unusual combination of a discrete V-shaped heptanuclear cluster of [Cd2Ca]2Ca′ and an infinite one-dimensional (1D) chain of [Cd2CaCa′]n that are orthogonally linked via a corner-shared Ca2+ ion (denoted as Ca′), giving rise to an unprecedented branched-chain secondary building unit (SBU). These SBUs propagate via tridentate BTB to yield a three-dimensional (3D) structure featuring a corner-truncated P41 helix in MOF 1. This outcome highlights the unique topologies possible via the combination of carefully chosen s- and d-block metal ions with polydentate ligands.

Abstract
A 2D porous MOF, {[Cu(1,2,3-btc)(bpe)(H2O)]·H2O}n (1), has been synthesized using a mixed linker system. The structural determination showed non-coordinated carboxylate groups decorating the pore surface. The desolvated MOF (1a) with pendant carboxylate groups was used as a template for the stabilization of Pd nps (2-3 nm) and the resulting composite Pd(0)@1a showed efficient catalytic activity for the Suzuki-Miyaura C-C coupling reaction.

Abstract
A flexible Mn-based MOF, Mn-sdc-1, has been successfully synthesized by using the ligand 4,4'-stilbenedicarboxylic acid (H2 sdc). Attributed to the flexibility of the framework, Mn-sdc-1 can transform into a new phase (Mn-sdc-2) with completely different structural geometry; this is induced by trace levels of H2 O at room temperature. Reversibly, the transformation from Mn-sdc-2 to Mn-sdc-1 can be triggered by DMF upon heating beyond 100 °C. These results inspired a study of the influences of temperature and H2 O volume in the solid-state transformation of two MOF phases and, for the first time, a phase diagram of MOFs has been depicted. This phase diagram reflects the gradual H2 O-/temperature-dependent changes between Mn-sdc-1 and Mn-sdc-2, which is very meaningful in achieving the controllable synthesis of these two MOFs and lead to targeting the desired water-stable structure. As a result, the obtained water-stable Mn-sdc-2 can be developed as an excellent Pb2+ sensor in aqueous solution through the luminescence quenching effect with a limit of detection of 31.4 nm.

Abstract
A series of Ru(ii)L2L' (L = 2,2'-bipyridyl, L' = 2,2'-bipyridine-5,5'-dicarboxylic acid), RuDCBPY, -containing zirconium(iv) coordination polymer thin films have been prepared as sensitizing materials for solar cell applications. These metal-organic framework (MOF) sensitized solar cells, MOFSCs, each are shown to generate photocurrent in response to simulated 1 sun illumination. Emission lifetime measurements indicate the excited state quenching of RuDCBPY at the MOF-TiO2 interface is extremely efficient (>90%), presumably due to electron injection into TiO2. A mechanism is proposed in which RuDCBPY-centers photo-excited within the MOF-bulk undergo isotropic energy migration up to 25 nm from the point of origin. This work represents the first example in which a MOFSC is directly compared to the constituent dye adsorbed on TiO2 (DSC). Importantly, the MOFSCs outperformed their RuDCBPY-TiO2 DSC counterpart under the conditions used here and, thus, are solidified as promising solar cell platforms.
