Solvent-free synthesis of symmetric methylene diesters via direct reaction of aromatic carboxylates with 1,n-dihaloalkanes

An efficient methodology for the synthesis of symmetrical methylene diesters was developed through direct reaction of various aromatic carboxylates with 1,n-dihaloalkanes under solvent-free conditions. This strategy offers a high product yield, facile work-up and purification, and an environmentally friendly approach to obtain long-chain methylene carboxylate scaffolds with increased diversity.

Synthesis of novel 1,2,4-thiadiazinane 1,1-dioxides via three component SuFEx type reaction

Herein, we report the preparation of 1,2,4-thiadiazinane 1,1-dioxides from reaction of β-aminoethane sulfonamides with dichloromethane, dibromomethane and formaldehyde as methylene donors. The β-aminoethane sulfonamides were obtained through sequential Michael addition of amines to α,β-unsaturated ethenesulfonyl fluorides followed by further DBU mediated sulfur(vi) fluoride exchange (SuFEx) reaction with amines at the S-F bond.

Synthesis of 2-vinylbenzofurans via the copper-catalyzed multicomponent reactions involving an oxa-Michael/arylation/vinylation cascade

2-Vinylbenzofurans have been synthesized via the copper-catalyzed one-pot, three-component reactions of o-iodophenols, in situ generated allenes, and dichloromethane. Cascade transformation of oxa-Michael addition, C-arylation, and sp(3)C-H/sp(3)C-Cl conversion-based vinylation has been involved in realizing the construction of this 2-vinylbenzofuran framework.

A catalyst-free, facile and efficient approach to cyclic esters: synthesis of 4H-benzo[d][1,3]dioxin-4-ones

A metal and additive free base-mediated method for the formation of 4H-benzo[d][1,3]dioxin-4-one and its derivatives, from salicylic acids and dichloromethane, was developed using dichloromethane (DCM) and 1,1-dichloroethane (1,1-DCE) as the C1 source.
