Boron-based small molecules in disease detection and treatment (2013–2016)

Recent years have seen tremendous development in the design and synthesis of boron-based compounds as potential therapeutics and for detection applications. The present review highlights the most recent development of these boron-based small molecules, covering clinically used ixazomib, tavaborole, crisaborole and other molecules from 2013 to 2016.

Design, synthesis and evaluation of novel anti-HCV molecules that deliver intracellularly three highly potent NS5A inhibitors

The design and synthesis of new non-symmetrical NS5A inhibitors with sulfur containing amino acids is reported along with their ability to block HCV replication in an HCV 1b replicon system. These compounds display EC50 values in the picomolar range with a large therapeutic index (>10(6)). Moreover, cellular pharmacology studies show that our preferred compounds intracellularly deliver three potent NS5A inhibitors.

l-Cysteine functionalized magnetic nanoparticles (LCMNP): a novel magnetically separable organocatalyst for one-pot synthesis of 2-amino-4H-chromene-3-carbonitriles in water

Magnetic nanoparticles were functionalized with l-cysteine using a new and efficient method and introduced as a novel magnetically separable organocatalyst.
