Abstract
A convenient synthetic protocol for diverse fused chromenes was successfully developed by a three-component reaction of alkyl isocyanides, dialkyl but-2-ynedioates, and various cyclic 1,3-dipolarophiles containing o-hydroxyphenyl group. In the absence of any catalyst, the three-component reaction of alkyl isocyanides, dialkyl but-2-ynedioates, and 3-(o-hydroxyarylidene)indolin-2-ones in tetrahydrofuran at 60 °C resulted in unique functionalized spiro[cyclobuta[c]chromene-1,3'-indolines] in good yields and with high diastereoselectivity. However, the similar three-component reaction with 2-(5-halo-2-hydroxyarylidene)indolin-2-ones afforded unexpected chain products in satisfactory yields. In addition, the three-component reaction of alkyl isocyanides, dialkyl but-2-ynedioates, and 2-(o-hydroxyarylidene)-1,3-indanediones in tetrahydrofuran at 60 °C resulted in complex indeno[2',1':5,6]pyrano[3,4-c]chromene derivatives in high yields and with high diastereoselectivity.

Abstract
An efficient protocol for the synthesis of polyfunctionalized tetrahydrocyclopenta[4,5]pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridine-3,4b,5,6,7(1H)-pentacarboxylates was developed by a three-component reaction. In the absence of any catalyst, the three-component reaction of alkyl isocyanides, dialkyl but-2-ynedioates and 5,6-unsubstituted 1,4-dihydropyridines in refluxing acetonitrile afforded polyfunctionalized tetrahydrocyclopenta[4,5]pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridine-3,4b,5,6,7(1H)-pentacarboxylates in high yields and with high diastereoselectivity. The reaction was finished by in situ generation of activated 5-(alkylimino)cyclopenta-1,3-dienes from addition of alkyl isocyanide to two molecules of but-2-ynedioates and sequential formal [3 + 2] cycloaddition reaction with 5,6-unsubstituted 1,4-dihydropyridine.

Abstract
Pyrrole is an essential chemical with considerable relevance as a pharmaceutical framework for many biologically necessary medications. The growing demand for biologically active compounds calls for a simple one-pot method for generating novel pyrrole derivatives. Nots surprisingly, several multicomponent reactions (MCRs) aim to synthesize pyrrole derivatives. However, this review presents the three-component synthesis of pyrrole derivatives, highlighting the significance of multicomponent reaction in synthesizing eclectic multi-functionalised pyrrole covering the selected literature on the three-component synthesis of substituted pyrrole from 2016 to late 2023. Furthermore, this article classifies the reactions based on the starting material with functional groups involved in the pyrrole ring formation.

Abstract
An ultrasonic-assisted isocyanide-based protocol to access a series of functionalized spirorhodanine-cyclopentadiene and spirorhodanine-iminobutenolide conjugates from alkyl isocyanides and dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylates in the presence of 5-ylidene rhodanines in MeCN, is described. The reaction proceeds via interception of the reactive Winterfeldt's zwitterions by 5-ylidene rhodanine derivatives. The structures of the target compounds were confirmed by X-ray diffraction studies.

Abstract
An efficient preparation of sulfamate-fused 2-aminopyrroles was achieved through an isocyanide-based three-component [1+2+2] annulation of isocyanides, dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylates, and sulfamate-derived cyclic imines in good to excellent yields (up to 99 %). This reaction proceeds smoothly without any activation or modification of substances under neutral and metal-free conditions. The reaction could also be conveniently performed on a gram scale.

Abstract
A novel, efficient and environmentally friendly approach has been developed for the synthesis of biologically important bis-heterocyclic oxazepine-quinazolinone derivatives. The structurally interesting compounds of high purity were synthesized by a one-pot three-component reaction of 2-(2-formylphenoxy) acetic acid and 2-aminobenzamide as bifunctional reagents and an isocyanide without using any catalyst, with excellent overall yields.

Abstract

A concise and efficient one-pot synthesis of novel N-fused tricyclic derivatives has been developed by using the Groebke–Blackburn–Bienaymé (GBB) reaction, which involved the reaction of 3-amino-1H-indazoles, aldehydes and isonitriles to afford 2-aryl-5H-imidazo[1,2-b]indazol-3-amine derivatives via a formal [4 + 1] cycloaddition reaction.

A new Ag-catalyzed oxidative bicyclization of N-tethered 1,7-enynes with alkylcarboxylic acids for forming 41 examples of polycyclic 3,4-dihydroquinolin-2(1H)-ones has been established using readily accessible K2S2O8 as an oxidant.

Abstract
A novel three-component bicyclization strategy for the metal-free synthesis of densely functionalized indeno[1,2-c]furans with generally good yields has been established from readily accessible o-phthalaldehydes (OPA), isocyanides, and α-diazoketones. The reaction pathway involves aldol-type addition, 1,2-hydride shift, 5-exo-trig cyclization, and 1,4-addition as well as an oxo-5-exo-dig cyclization sequence, resulting in continuous multiple bond-forming events including C-C and C-O bonds to rapidly build up functional oxo-heterocycles.

A new bicyclization strategy has been established, allowing a flexible and practical approach to 33 examples of pyrazolo[3,4-c]quinolines from low-cost and readily accessible triethylammonium thiolates with hydrazines. Notably, the features of this work include broad functional group compatibility, mild reaction conditions and good reaction yields.

Abstract
New I2-catalyzed multicomponent bicyclization reactions of β-ketonitriles with sulfonyl hydrazides have been established, providing a direct and metal-free access toward unreported pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidin-4-ium sulfonates. The latter could be quantitatively converted into densely functionalized pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidines in the presence of bases. Using sulfonyl hydrazides as a sulfenylating agent, the resulting pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidines enabled I2-catalyzed unprecedented disulphenylations to access fully substituted pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidines through direct C(sp(2))-H bond bifunctionalization.
