Abstract
Considerable attention has been paid to the preparation of single-atom solid base catalysts (SASBCs) owing to their high activity and maximized utilization of basic sites. At present, the reported fabrication methods of SASBCs, such as two-step reduction strategy and sublimation capture strategy, require high temperature. Such a high activation temperature is easy to cause the sublimation loss of alkali or alkaline earth metal atoms and destructive to the support structure. Herein, a new SASBC, Ca1/UiO-67-BPY, is fabricated, in which the alkaline earth metal Ca sites are immobilized onto N-rich metal-organic framework UiO-67-BPY at room temperature. The results show that the atomic configuration of Ca single atoms is coordinated by two N atoms in the framework. The obtained Ca SASBC possesses ordered structure and exhibits high product yield of 87.2% in the Knoevenagel reaction between benzaldehyde and malononitrile. Furthermore, thanks to the Ca single atoms sites anchored on UiO-67-BPY, the Ca1/UiO-67-BPY catalyst also shows good stability during cycles. This work might offer new insight in designing SASBCs for different base-catalyzed reactions.

Abstract
Acids and bases generally occur in pairs as concepts, and a large number of catalytic reactions can be considered as interactions between acids and bases. Many chemical reactions are a combination of acid-catalyzed processes and base-catalyzed processes, and thus it is particularly important to study and explain the mechanisms of acid-base synergy or acid-base interactions. However, compared to the in-depth research on acid catalysts, there is a lack of research on solid bases. In addition to the application of basic materials to non-petroleum processes, recent studies have also applied basic materials to the catalytic cracking reaction process of heavy oils, providing new ideas for the processing of heavy oils. The formation of carbanions with the contribution of basicity is a critical stage in many fine chemical reactions, as well as in the hydrocarbon cracking reactions promoted by a base. Thus, herein, we summarize the research progress on the main types of all-inorganic solid base catalysts, including the types of catalysts used in non-petroleum processes and petroleum processes, their preparation, the properties of their basic sites, and their structure-performance correlation in the reactions. Also, we provide an outlook on the future research directions of all-inorganic solid base materials.

Abstract
Solid base catalysts are widely used in the chemical industry owing to their advantages of environmental friendliness and easy separation. However, their application is limited by basic site aggregation and poor stability. In this study, we report the preparation of magnesium (Mg) single-atom catalysts with high activity and stability by a sublimation-trapping strategy. The Mg net was sublimated as Mg vapor at 620 °C, subsequently transported through argon, and finally trapped on the defects of nitrogen-doped carbon derived from metal-organic framework ZIF-8, producing Mg1/NC. Because of the atomically dispersed Mg sites, the obtained Mg1/NC exhibits high catalytic activity and stability for Knoevenagel condensation of benzaldehyde with malononitrile, which is a typical base-catalyzed reaction. The Mg1/NC catalyst achieves a high efficiency with a turnover frequency of 49.6 h-1, which is much better than that of the traditional counterpart MgO/NC (7.7 h-1). In particular, the activity of Mg1/NC shows no decrease after five catalytic cycles, while that of MgO/NC declines due to the instability of basic sites.

Non-Aqueous Poly(dimethylsiloxane) Organogel Sponges for Controlled Solvent Release: Synthesis, Characterization, and Application in the Cleaning of Artworks. Gels 2023; 9:985. Abstract
Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) organogel sponges were prepared and studied in order to understand the role of pore size in an elastomeric network on the ability to uptake and release organic solvents. PDMS organogel sponges have been produced according to sugar leaching techniques by adding two sugar templates of different forms and grain sizes (a sugar cube template and a powdered sugar template), in order to obtain materials differing in porosity, pore size distribution, and solvent absorption and liquid retention capability. These materials were compared to PDMS organogel slabs that do not contain pores. The sponges were characterized by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy with attenuated total reflectance (FTIR-ATR) and compared with PDMS slabs that do not contain pores. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) provided information about their morphology. X-ray micro-tomography (XMT) allowed us to ascertain how the form of the sugar templating agent influences the porosity of the systems: when templated with sugar cubes, the porosity was 77% and the mean size of the pores was ca. 300 μm; when templated with powdered sugar, the porosity decreased to ca. 10% and the mean pore size was reduced to ca. 75 μm. These materials, porous organic polymers (POPs), can absorb many solvents in different proportions as a function of their polarity. Absorption capacity, as measured by swelling with eight solvents covering a wide range of polarities, was investigated. Rheology data established that solvent absorption did not have an appreciable impact on the gel-like properties of the sponges, suggesting their potential for applications in cultural heritage conservation. Application tests were conducted on the surfaces of two different lab mock-ups that simulate real painted works of art. They demonstrated further that PDMS sponges are a potential innovative support for controlled and selective cleaning of works of art surfaces.

Abstract
The chemical microenvironment of polyoxometalates (POMs) encapsulated in metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) presents a significant influence on their catalytic performance, which can be easily regulated by the linker functional group alteration or metal substitution in MOFs. Herein, a series of cesium phosphomolybdate (CsPM) encapsulated in hierarchical porous UiO-66-X composites (CsPM@HP-UiO-66-X, X = H, 2CH3, or 2OH, where X represents the alterable group grafted onto the linker benzene ring) were successfully synthesized through a one pot modulated solvothermal method. The catalytic performances of the obtained materials were explored in alkene epoxidation reaction with tert-butyl hydroperoxide (t-BuOOH). CsPM@HP-UiO-66-2CH3 showed relatively high catalytic activity, stability, and epoxidation selectivity in cyclooctene epoxidation among the CsPM@HP-UiO-66-X composites. Moreover, CsPM@HP-UiO-66-2CH3 was effective in the epoxidation of numerous alkenes, especially cyclic alkenes. The superior catalytic activity of CsPM@HP-UiO-66-2CH3 is mainly attributed to the modulation of the microenvironment surrounding CsPM active sites by introducing a hydrophobic methyl group. Meanwhile, the size-matched effect, the introduction of cesium cations, and the strong metal-support interactions (SMSIs) between CsPM and HP-UiO-66-2CH3 play a crucial role in the stability of CsPM@HP-UiO-66-2CH3.

Abstract
The emergence of two-dimensional conjugated metal-organic frameworks (2D c-MOFs) with pronounced electrical properties (e.g., high conductivity) has provided a novel platform for efficient energy storage, sensing, and electrocatalysis. Nevertheless, the limited availability of suitable ligands restricts the number of available types of 2D c-MOFs, especially those with large pore apertures and high surface areas are rare. Herein, we develop two new 2D c-MOFs (HIOTP-M, M=Ni, Cu) employing a large p-π conjugated ligand of hexaamino-triphenyleno[2,3-b:6,7-b':10,11-b'']tris[1,4]benzodioxin (HAOTP). Among the reported 2D c-MOFs, HIOTP-Ni exhibits the largest pore size of 3.3 nm and one of the highest surface areas (up to 1300 m2 g-1 ). As an exemplary application, HIOTP-Ni has been used as a chemiresistive sensing material and displays high selective response (405 %) and a rapid response (1.69 min) towards 10 ppm NO2 gas. This work demonstrates significant correlation linking the pore aperture of 2D c-MOFs to their sensing performance.

Abstract
Herein, a reaction in which the benzyl C-H bonds of alkylarenes are directly esterified by carboxylic acids to produce benzyl esters in high yields is reported. This reaction is catalyzed by Pd nanoparticles (NPs) on N-doped carbon (CN) composites based on a carbonizing Al-MIL-101(NH2) material, and no oxidants or hydrogen acceptors are required. Use of o-alkylbenzoic acids as substrates leads to phthalides, whereas with carboxylic acids and alkylarenes as the feedstock, the reaction produces the benzyl esters. These reactions that use readily available alkylarenes instead of benzyl halides or benzyl alcohols as raw materials for one-step synthesis of benzyl esters without oxidants are inherently atom- and step-efficient. The CN composites and the CN-supported Pd NP catalysts were prepared and are well characterized. The proposed mechanism involves dehydrogenation of both the carboxylic groups and the benzylic groups and the transformation of benzylic C-H bond into the C-O bond via hydrogen abstraction from the benzylic group through an organopalladium intermediate. The kinetic isotope effect (kH/kD = 2.77) indicated that C(sp3)-H bond cleavage of the alkane aromatics is the rate-determining step.

Abstract
The excessive utilization of petroleum diesel has led to the depletion of fossil resources and severe environmental pollution. Biodiesel produced from renewable triglycerides (TGs) or waste lipids is a low-emission fuel substitute for diesel. Biodiesel is mainly produced by transesterification reactions over homogeneous base catalysts with excellent activity and low cost. In comparison, solid base catalysts are more attractive due to their lower environmental impact and simpler production and purification processes. It remains a challenge to further improve the stability and activity of solid base catalysts. Because of the high surface area, superior stability, and tunable basicity, basic zeolites, especially two-dimensional zeolites, have emerged as promising solid basic catalysts for the transesterification of TGs. In this review, we present recent advancements in the synthesis, characterization, and catalytic performance of basic zeolites for the transesterification of TGs. Challenges and development prospects of basic zeolites for biodiesel production via transesterification are also pointed out. We expect that this review will inspire the more efficient and rational design of zeolites for sustainable fuel production.

Abstract
A series of calcium oxide-magnesium oxide (CaO-MgO) catalysts were prepared under the effects of different precipitating agents and using varied Mg/Ca ratios. The physiochemical characteristics of the prepared catalysts were analyzed using XRD, FE-SEM, BET, FTIR, and TG/DTA techniques. Quantification of basic active sites present on the surface of the CaO-MgO catalysts was carried out using the Hammett indicator method. The as-prepared mixed oxide samples were tested for propylene carbonate (PC) synthesis through the alcoholysis of urea with propylene glycol (PG). The effects of the catalyst composition, catalyst dose, reaction temperature, and contact time on the PC yield and selectivity were investigated. The maximum PC yield of 96%, with high PC selectivity of 99% and a urea conversion rate of 96%, was attained at 160 °C using CaO-MgO catalysts prepared using a Mg/Ca ratio of 1 and Na2CO3 as a precipitating agent. The best-performing catalysts also exhibited good reusability without any significant loss in PC selectivity. It is expected that the present study will provide useful information on the suitability of different precipitating agents with respect to the catalytic properties of the oxides of Ca and Mg and their application in the synthesis of organic carbonates.

Abstract
Two unusual nanotube-based boron imidazolate frameworks (BIF-134 and BIF-135) were synthesized by a dual-ligand synthetic strategy under solvothermal conditions. In the structure of BIF-134 ([Co(BH(2-mim)3)(BTC)1/3](HBH(2-mim)3)1/3(NMA); 2-mim = 2-methylimidazole, NMA = N-methylacetamide, and BTC = 1,3,5-benzene tricarboxylate), one part of boron imidazolate ligands participate in the structural skeleton coordination, while another part of boron imidazolate ligands act as guest molecules that are located between adjacent nanotubes, which enhance the stability of the framework by the host-guest interaction and the pore space partition effects. It was found to be highly stable in air, water, organic solvents, and a wide pH range (pH 0-12). However, in the structure of BIF-135 ([Zn(BH(2-mim)3)(CHTC)1/3]; CHTC = 1,3,5-cyclohexanetricarboxylate), all boron imidazolate ligands participate in the structural skeleton coordination; there is no boron imidazolate guest molecule in the pores. The topology of BIF-135 is similar to that of BIF-134 by replacing BTC with CHTC and replacing Co with Zn. Furthermore, the obtained BIFs exhibited third-order nonlinear optical properties and potential optical limiting applications demonstrated by reverse saturable absorption.

Abstract
A type of MCM-41 supported dicationic imidazolium ionic liquid nanocatalyst has been synthesized and found to be competent for the synthesis of 2-oxazolidinones through the sustainable chemical conversion of CO2 with aziridines. It was shown that the highest efficiency was achieved in the cycloaddition of a series of aziridines and CO2 in the presence of a catalytic amount of the solid catalyst MCM-41@ILLaCl4 under mild conditions. Merits of this meticulously designed protocol are the use of a novel supported ionic liquid catalyst, the easy work-up process, good to excellent yields, a short reaction time, and purification without column chromatography. Overall, the present protocol of synthesizing 2-oxazolidinones under cocatalyst- and solvent-free conditions using MCM-41@ILLaCl4 is promising for industrial applications.

Abstract
We applied the Petasites hybridus rhizome water extract as green media so that Ag/Fe3O4/CdO@ multi-walled carbon nanotubes magnetic nanocomposites (Ag/Fe3O4/CdO@MWCNTs MNCs) could be prepared. We also evaluated its activity by using in the one-pot multicomponent reaction of acetophenones, diethyl oxalate, ammonium acetate, and activated carbonyl compounds such as ninhydrin, isatin and acenaphthylene-1,2-dione, and malononitrile and hydrazoyl chlorides in an aqueous medium at room temperature for the generation of spiro-1,2,4-triazines as new derivatives with tremendous output. Moreover, reducing organic pollutants from 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) was carried out by generating Ag/Fe3O4/CdO@MWCNTs in water at room temperature. The results displayed that Ag/Fe3O4/CdO@MWCNTs reduced pollutants of organic compounds in a short time. The synthesized spiro-1,2,4-triazines have NH and OH functional groups having acidic hydrogen with high antioxidant power. Also, the spiro-1,2,4-triazines exhibited antimicrobial ability. For this purpose, the disk diffusion method was applied and two kinds of bacteria, Gram-positive and Gram-negative, were employed for the analysis. Furthermore, we applied functional theory-based quantum chemical methods in order to better understand reaction mechanism density. To generate spiro-1,2,4-triazines, the applied process showed many properties such as reactions with short time, products with good yields, and simple extraction of catalyst from a mixture of reactions.

Abstract
It has been a challenge to synthesize macrolide musk in excellent yields with high purity. KF-La/γ-Al2O3 catalyst was prepared from a highly basic mesoporous framework using a mild method. The prepared KF-La/γ-Al2O3 catalyst was employed for the synthesis of cyclopentadecanolide from methyl 15-hydroxypentadecanoate. The morphology and structure of prepared catalysts were characterized using XRD, TG-DTG, SEM, EDX, TEM, BET and CO2-TPD. The results revealed that the K3AlF6 and LaOF are produced on the surface of KF-La/γ-Al2O3, and LaO can promote the dispersion of KF on the surface of Al2O3. Catalysts pore size main distribution ranges between 10 and 30 nm, the maximum CO2 desorption temperature is 715°C when the La loading is 25%. Because F- ion has a higher electronegativity than O2- ion, the KF-promoted metal oxide (Al2O3 or/and La2O3) contained more strong basic sites, compared with that of the corresponding metal oxide. The yield of cyclopentadecanolide obtained at 0.5 g KF-25La/γ-Al2O3 catalyst and a reaction temperature of 190°C for 7 h were 58.50%, and the content after reactive distillation is 98.8%. The KF-La/γ-Al2O3 catalyst has a larger pore size and basic strength, which is more conducive to the macrolactonization of long-chain hydroxy ester.

Abstract
The application of recyclable heterogeneous catalysts in the production of polypropylene glycol monomethyl ether (MPPG) is of great significance to the green chemical industry. In this study, the CeO2/MgAl-LDH(P123) composite was prepared using a nucleation/crystallization isolation method and aqueous reconstruction method, and CeO2/MgAl-LDO(P123) solid base catalyst was prepared by calcination with it as precursor. Thereafter, the morphology, crystal structure, functional group, and thermal stability of the catalyst were characterized using scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller analysis, temperature-programmed desorption of carbon dioxide, thermogravimetry, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The results showed that the catalyst had a larger specific surface area, pore size and pore volume and more basic sites, providing sufficient catalytic activity for the polymerization process. The experimental results for the fabrication of MPPG using CeO2/MgAl-LDO(P123) as catalyst and methanol and propylene oxide as reaction raw materials showed that the conversion of propylene oxide reached 92.04% and the molecular weight of MPPG was 405 under the optimal reaction conditions. Moreover, the conversion of propylene oxide was maintained above 83.69% after the catalyst was reused six times. This study offers a new prospect for the green synthesis of MPPG products.

Abstract
Novel basified graphene oxide and high-porosity monolithic composite aerogels of poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene oxide) (PPO) containing basified graphene oxide (b-eGO) have been prepared as recoverable and reusable catalysts for the Henry reaction in solvent-free conditions at room temperature. The results showed that, although b-eGO was able to promote the reaction, it suffered from reduced stability. On the other hand, PPO/b-eGO aerogels were able to efficiently promote the Henry reaction in solvent-free conditions. The product could be obtained pure without a purification step, and the catalyst was stable for over 15 months and could be easily recycled without losing catalytic efficiency. The stereochemical outcome was further investigated in the presence of PPO/b-eGO. Despite its negligible influence on diastereoselectivity, better efficiency and a sensible reduction of reaction time were observed.

Abstract
Here, three unique organic-inorganic hybrid nanocomposite materials prepared by combining NaYF4:Yb3+,Ln3+ (Ln3+ = Er3+, Tm3+, Ho3+) and periodic mesoporous organosilica (PMO) are proposed for both metal ion sensing and solvent sensing. The luminescence properties of the developed hybrid materials, PMO@NaYF4:Yb3+,Ln3+, were studied in detail in the solid state and after dispersing in water. It is found that PMO@NaYF4:Yb3+,Er3+ showed selective "turn on" luminescence for Hg2+ with the detection limit of 24.4 μM in an aqueous solution. Additionally, the above three materials showed different luminescence emission responses towards water and organic solvents. It is worth noting that all three PMO@NaYF4:Yb3+,Ln3+ materials showed "turn on" luminescence towards alcohols. PMO@NaYF4:Yb3+,Er3+ and PMO@NaYF4:Yb3+,Ho3+ were selected and further developed into sensitive sensors for the detection of water in alcohols by taking advantage of their quenching behavior in water. The detection limit for sensing of water was determined to be 0.21%, 0.18% and 0.29%, corresponding to isopropanol (PMO@NaYF4:Yb3+,Er3+), n-butanol (PMO@NaYF4:Yb3+,Er3+) and ethanol (PMO@NaYF4:Yb3+,Ho3+), respectively. The above results illustrate the potential of these hybrid materials for applications in environmental fields as well as in chemical industries.

Abstract
The development of efficient and metal-free heterogeneous catalysts for the chemical fixation of CO2 into value-added products is still a challenge. Herein, we reported two kinds of polar group (-COOH, -OH)-functionalized porous ionic polymers (PIPs) that were constructed from the corresponding phosphonium salt monomers (v-PBC and v-PBH) using a solvothermal radical polymerization method. The resulting PIPs (POP-PBC and POP-PBH) can be used as efficient bifunctional heterogeneous catalysts in the cycloaddition reaction of CO2 with epoxides under relatively low temperature, ambient pressure, and metal-free conditions without any additives. It was found that the catalytic activities of the POP-PBC and POP-PBH were comparable with the homogeneous catalysts of Me-PBC and PBH and were higher than that of the POP-PPh3-COOH that was synthesized through a post-modification method, indicating the importance of the high concentration catalytic active sites in the heterogeneous catalysts. Reaction under low CO2 concentration conditions showed that the activity of the POP-PBC (with a conversion of 53.8% and a selectivity of 99.0%) was higher than that of the POP-PBH (with a conversion of 32.3% and a selectivity of 99.0%), verifying the promoting effect of the polar group (-COOH group) in the porous framework. The POP-PBC can also be recycled at least five times without a significant loss of catalytic activity, indicating the high stability and robustness of the PIPs-based heterogeneous catalysts.

Abstract
Severe environmental pollution is caused by the massive discharge of complex industrial wastewater. The photocatalytic technology has been proved as an effective way to solve the problem, while an efficient photocatalyst is the most critical factor. Herein, a new photocatalyst MIL-68(Ga)_NH2 was obtained by hydrothermal synthesis and were characterized by PXRD, FTIR, 1H NMR, and TGA systematically. The result demonstrates that MIL-68(Ga)_NH2 crystallized in orthorhombic system and Cmcm space group with the unit cell parameters: a = 36.699 Å, b = 21.223 Å, c = 6.75 Å, V = 5257.6 Å3, which sheds light on the maintenance of the crystal structure of the prototype material after amino modification. The conversion of Cr(VI) and binary pollutant Cr(VI)/RhB in wastewater under visible light stimulation was characterized by the UV-vis DRS. Complementary experimental results indicate that MIL-68(Ga)_NH2 exhibits remarkable photocatalytic activity for Cr(VI) and the degradation rate reaches as high as 98.5% when pH = 2 and ethanol as hole-trapping agent under visible light irradiation with good reusability and stability. Owing to the synergistic effect between Cr(VI) and RhB in the binary pollutant system, MIL-68(Ga)_NH2 exhibits excellent catalytic activity for both the pollutants, the degradation efficiency of Cr(VI) and RhB was up to 95.7% and 94.6% under visible light irradiation for 120 min, respectively. The possible removal mechanism of Cr(VI)/RhB based on MIL-68(Ga)_NH2 was explored. In addition, Ga-based MOF was applied in the field of photocatalytic treatment of wastewater for the first time, which broadened the application of MOF materials in the field of photocatalysis.

Abstract
In this study, we synthesized schiff base of pyrimidoazepine derivatives in high yields using multicomponent reactions of isatins, alkyl bromides, activated acetylenic compounds, guanidine and aldehydes in the presence of Fe3O4/CuO/ZnO@ Multi Walled Carbon Nanotubes (MWCNT) as a high performance catalyst in water at room temperature. The Fe3O4/CuO/ZnO@MWCNT synthesizes using Petasites hybridus rhizome water extract as a green media and moderate base. As well Fe3O4/CuO/ZnO@MWCNT magnetic nanocomposites show a good improvement in the yield of the product and displayed significant reusable activity. Investigation of antioxidant ability of synthesized compounds using radical trapping of diphenyl-picrylhydrazine and ferric reduction power experiment is another purpose in this research. Also, the antimicrobial activity of some synthesized compounds proved by employing the disk diffusion test on Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. This procedure has some benefits such as short reaction time, product with excellent yields, simple catalyst and products separation.

Abstract
In this research, new derivatives of oxazolopyrazoloazepines were synthesized in high yields using multicomponent reaction of anilines, oxalylchloride, alkyl bromides, activated acetylenic compounds, hydrazine and ethyl bromopyruvate in the presence of Ag/Fe3O4/ZnO@MWCNT magnetic nanocomposite (MNCs) as a high-performance magnetic catalyst in ionic liquid at room temperature. The Ag/Fe3O4/ZnO@MWCNT magnetic nanocomposites (MNCs) were synthesized using 1-octhyl-3-methyl imidazolium bromide ([OMIM]Br) as a stabilizer and soft template. Also, the catalytic activity of the Ag/Fe3O4/ZnO@MWCNT MNCs was evaluated in reduction of organic pollutants such as 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) in water at mild conditions. The results indicated that the biosynthesized nanocomposites (NCs) have high catalytic activity for organic pollutants within few seconds. Because of having benzazepine nucleus in the synthesized compounds, we investigate antioxidant property of some synthesized oxazolopyrazoloazepines by diphenyl-picrylhydrazine radical trapping and power of ferric reduction experiment. Short time of reaction, high yields of product, easy separation of catalyst and products are some advantages of this procedure.

Abstract
Solid strong bases with an ordered pore structure (OPS-SSBs) have attracted much attention because of their high catalytic activity and shape selectivity as heterogeneous catalysts in various reactions. Nevertheless, high temperatures are required to fabricate OPS-SSBs by using traditional methods. Herein, we report for the first time that the coordination solvents affect basicity generation in metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) greatly and that strong basicity can be formed at comparatively low temperatures. A typical MOF, MIL-53, was employed, and three different solvents, namely, water, methanol, and N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF), were coordinated, respectively, by means of solvent exchange. Thermogravimetry-mass spectrometer analysis shows that the conversion temperature of base precursor KNO3 is quite different on MIL-53 coordinated with different solvents. The conversion of KNO3 to basic sites takes place at 350, 300, and 250 °C on MIL-53 coordinated with water, methanol, and DMF, respectively. It is fascinating to observe the generation temperature of strongly basic sites at 250 °C, which is noticeably lower than that on various supports, such as mesoporous silica SBA-15 (600 °C), zeolite Y (700 °C), and metal oxide ZrO2 (730 °C). This is due to the redox interaction between coordination solvents and KNO3, leading to a significant decrease in the temperature for KNO3 conversion. Consequently, OPS-SSBs were prepared successfully with an ordered pore structure and strong basicity. The obtained OPS-SSBs show good shape selectivity in Knoevenagel condensation of aromatic aldehydes with different active methylene compounds. Moreover, these solid bases are highly active in the synthesis of dimethyl carbonate through transesterification reaction. This work might open up a new avenue for the fabrication of various functional materials at low temperatures through redox interactions.

Abstract
Herein, we studied a single-pot method with a dual catalysis process towards the conversion of primary aromatic alcohols to amides using ultrasmall PdNPs of controlled uniform size (1.8 nm) inside hybrid mesoporous organosilica nanotubes (MO-NTs). The catalyst exhibited excellent performance in water under mild conditions and showed high stability. The catalytic activity towards the tandem oxidation of alcohols in the presence of amine salts and H2O2 to their corresponding amides without producing byproducts was evaluated, and high yields were obtained for all products. The structure of the organosilica nanotubes containing palladium nanoparticles was investigated using various characterization techniques such as XRD, TEM, BET, solid-state 29Si NMR and solid-state 13C CP MAS NMR. Catalyst recycling tests showed that the catalytic power of PdNPs@B-SNTs was preserved after 8 cycles and a slight decrease in catalyst activity was observed.

Abstract
Boron-based catalysts for oxidative dehydrogenation of propane (ODHP) have displayed excellent olefin selectivity. However, the drawback of deboronation leading to catalyst deactivation limited their scalable applications. Hereby, a series of mesoporous B-MCM-41 (BM-x, B/Si = 0.015-0.147) catalysts for ODHP were prepared by a simple hydrothermal synthesis method. It was found that propane conversion was increased and the initial reaction temperature was reduced with an increase of boron content, and the optimal values appeared on BM-2.0 (B/Si = 0.062), while olefins' (ethylene and propylene) selectivity was maintained at ca. 70-80%. Most importantly, BM-1.0 (B/Si = 0.048) exhibited favorable activity, stability, and water tolerance after washing treatment or long-time operation (e.g., propane conversion of ca. 15% and overall olefin selectivity of ca. 80% at 550 °C) because its high structural stability prevented boron leaches. These features were identified by X-ray diffraction (XRD), N2 physisorption, inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and solid-state magic-angle-spinning nuclear magnetic resonance (MAS NMR) spectroscopy studies. The tri-coordinated B-OH species incorporated into the mesoporous silica framework are considered to be the active sites for ODHP.

Abstract
In this research, we synthesized the Fe3O4/CuO/ZnO@MWCNT magnetic nanocomposites using water extract of Petasites hybridus rhizome, and the high performance of synthesized catalyst was confirmed by using in the solvent-free multicomponent reactions of isatoic anhydride, N-methylimidazole, alkyl bromides, activated acetylenic compounds and 2-aminoacetonitrile at ambient temperature for the production of new cyanopyrroloazepine derivatives in high yields. This catalyst could be used several times in these reactions and have main role in the yield of product. The synthesized cyanopyrroloazepines have NH groups in their structure and for this reason have good antioxidant activity. Also, employing Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria in the disk diffusion procedure confirmed some cyanopyrroloazepines antimicrobial effect. The results showed that synthesized cyanopyrroloazepine prevented the bacterial growth. This used process for preparation of new cyanopyrroloazepine has some improvements such as low reaction time, product with high yields, simple separation of catalyst and products.

Abstract
The stabilization of sub-nanometric metal particles (< 1 nm) with suitable distribution remained challenging in the catalytic arena. Herein, an intelligent strategy was described to anchoring and stabilizing sub-nanometric Pd colloids with an average size of 0.88 nm onto Kryptofix 23 functionalized MCM-41. Then, the catalytic activity of Pd@Kryf/MCM-41 was developed in Stille coupling reaction with a turnover frequency (TOF) value of 247 h-1. The findings demonstrate that porous MCM-41 structure and high-affinity Kryptofix 23 ligand toward adsorption of Pd colloids has a vital role in stabilizing the sub-nanometric particles and subsequent catalytic activity. Overall, these results suggest that Pd@Kryf/MCM-41 is a greener, more suitable option for large-scale applications and provides new insights into the stabilization of sub-nanometric metal particles.

Abstract
Metal-organic framework materials not only possess porous structures, but also have excellent antibacterial properties. It is of great practical significance to prepare new antibacterial materials with excellent antibacterial effect by metal-organic framework materials. In our study, Zeolitic Imidazolate Framework-8 (ZIF-8) nanomaterials with antibacterial properties were prepared via the solvent method and diethanolamine template method. The materials were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), cold field-emission scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), N2 adsorption-desorption experiment, antibacterial experiment, and biocompatibility experiment. Results showed that ZIF-8 prepared by solvent method has a more typical hexagonal structure, larger specific surface area, and smaller pore size, and the values are 1812.07 m2g-1 and 2.2412 nm, respectively. At the same time, the materials prepared by the two methods have excellent antibacterial properties, and exhibit good biocompatibility at low concentrations, the antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus are higher than 95%, and the cell viabilities of the selected five material concentrations of 12.5 µg mL-1, 25 µg mL-1, 50 µg mL-1, 100 µg mL-1 and 200 µg mL-1 are more than 70%. Therefore, this study provides a feasible method for preparing Nano-scale antibacterial functional particles, and it is of great significance to broaden the application field of ZIF-8 materials and prepare ZIF-8 drug-delivery functional materials.

Abstract
In this research we investigated the preparation of new (5Z, 8Z)-7H-pyrido[2,3-d]azepine derivatives in high yields via multicomponent reaction of isatins, alkyl bromides, activated acetylenic compounds and ammonium acetate using ionic liquid 1-octhyl-3-methyl imidazolium bromide ([OMIM]Br) as a stabilizer and soft template at room temperature in the presence of Fe3O4/TiO2/Carbon nanotubes magnetic nanocomposites as a reusable and effective nanocatalyst that are synthesized using ionic liquid [OMIM]Br as a stabilizer, soft template, green media and moderate base. Because of having a NH group in the synthesized pyridine derivatives, we investigate antioxidant property of some synthesized compounds by diphenyl-picrylhydrazine (DPPH) radical trapping and power of ferric reduction experiment. Short time of reaction, high yields of product, easy separation of catalyst and products are some advantages of this procedure.

Abstract
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have been widely recognized as one of the most fascinating classes of materials from science and engineering perspectives, benefiting from their high porosity and well-defined and tailored structures and components at the atomic level. Although their intrinsic micropores endow size-selective capability and high surface area, etc., the narrow pores limit their applications toward diffusion-control and large-size species involved processes. In recent years, the construction of hierarchically porous MOFs (HP-MOFs), MOF-based hierarchically porous composites, and MOF-based hierarchically porous derivatives has captured widespread interest to extend the applications of conventional MOF-based materials. In this Review, the recent advances in the design, synthesis, and functional applications of MOF-based hierarchically porous materials are summarized. Their structural characters toward various applications, including catalysis, gas storage and separation, air filtration, sewage treatment, sensing and energy storage, have been demonstrated with typical reports. The comparison of HP-MOFs with traditional porous materials (e.g., zeolite, porous silica, carbons, metal oxides, and polymers), subsisting challenges, as well as future directions in this research field, are also indicated.
