Abstract
Herein, polysiloxane-based aggregation-induced emission (AIE) polymers and rubbers were prepared which display interesting multi-stimuli responsive fluorescence. TPE-modified polydimethylsiloxanes (PDMS-TPE) as polysiloxane-based AIE polymers were synthesized through Heck reaction of bromo-substituted tetraphenylethene (TPE-Br) and vinyl polysiloxanes. As expected, TPE moiety endows the modified polysiloxane with typical AIE behavior. However, limited by the long polymer chains, the aggregation process of PDMS-TPE shows obvious differences compared with the small molecule TPE-Br. The fluorescence of PDMS-TPE in THF/H2O starts to increase when the H2O fraction (fw) is 70% while TPE-Br is nearly non-luminous until the fw is up to 99%. The fluorescence intensity ratio (I/I0) of PDMS-TPE in the aggregated state and dispersed state is over 1300, greater than that of TPE-Br (I/I0 = 380). More importantly, the exceptional thermal motion of Si-O-Si chains and AIE characteristic of TPE moiety work together, enabling PDMS-TPE to show specific temperature-dependent fluorescence with a wider response range of room temperature to 190°C, which is distinguished from TPE-Br. And such fluorescence responsiveness possess good fatigue-resistance. Furthermore, fluorescent silicone rubbers, r-PDMS-TPE were prepared by using PDMS-TPE as additive of the base gum. They display interesting solvent-controllable fluorescence and higher tensile strength (4.42 MPa) than the control sample without TPE component (1.96 MPa). Notably, a unique stretching-enhanced emission (SEE) phenomenon is observed from these TPE-modified silicone rubbers. When being stretched, the rubbers' fluorescent emission intensity could increase by 143%.

Abstract
Borinic acids [R2B(OH)] and their chelate derivatives are a subclass of organoborane compounds used in cross-coupling reactions, catalysis, medicinal chemistry, polymer or optoelectronics materials. In this paper, we review the recent advances in the synthesis of diarylborinic acids and their four-coordinated analogs. The main strategies to build up borinic acids rely either on the addition of organometallic reagents to boranes (B(OR)3, BX3, aminoborane, arylboronic esters) or the reaction of triarylboranes with a ligand (diol, amino alcohol, etc.). After general practical considerations of borinic acids, an overview of the main synthetic methods, their scope and limitations is provided. We also discuss some mechanistic aspects.

Abstract
The development of organic materials with high solid-state luminescence efficiency is highly desirable because of their fundamental importance and applicability in optoelectronics. Herein, a rapid construction of novel BF2 complexes with N,O-bidentate ligands by using Cu(BF4 )2 •6H2 O as a catalyst and BF2 source is disclosed, which avoids the need for pre-composing the N,O-bidentate ligands and features a broad substrate scope and a high tolerance level for sensitive functional groups. Moreover, molecular oxygen is employed as the terminal oxidant in this transformation. A library of 36 compounds as a new class of BF2 complexes with remarkable photophysical properties is delivered in good to excellent yields, showing a substituent-dependency on the photophysical properties, derived from the π-π* character of the photoexcited state. In addition, aggregation-induced emission (AIE) is observed and quantified for the brightest exemplars. The excited state properties are fully investigated in solids and in THF/H2 O mixtures. Hence, a new series of photofunctional materials with variable photophysical properties is reported, with potential applications for sensing, bioimaging, and optoelectronics.

Abstract
In the present work, a novel donor (D)-acceptor (A) fluorophore based on indeno-pyrrole derivative (PYROMe) has been utilized as a dual sensor for volatile acids and aromatic amines, where sensory responses were regulated by the aggregation-induced emission (AIE) property. The twisted structural framework of PYROMe, confirmed by crystal study, avoids closed cofacial encounter upon aggregation and aided with augmented rigidity via different noncovalent interactions that ultimately ensued restricted intramolecular rotation (RIR). Consequently, PYROMe exhibited AIE in THF/H2O mixture along with bright solid-state emission. The accessibility of protonation at carbonyl site and feasible HOMO energy to accept electrons from aromatic amines during photoexcitation enabled PYROMe as a potential dual sensor. A thin film of PYROMe was utilized for the quantitative detection of volatile acids and aromatic amines, and the detection limit (DL) was found to be as low as 0.77 ppm and 6.04 ppb for trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) and aniline vapors, respectively. Beyond the established scopes of substituted indeno-pyrroles, the present study paves the way, for the first time, toward an AIE-driven dual-stimuli response in indeno-pyrrole based D-A fluorophores.

Abstract
A novel class of solid-emissive boron-difluoride derivatives, using phenanthrenequinone hydrazone as ligands, were designed and efficiently synthesized. These dyes exhibit weak fluorescence in dilute solutions, but much higher fluorescence efficiency in aggregate states with a large stokes shift (over 70 nm) due to the their aggregation-induced emission enhancement (AIEE) characteristics. According to their photophysical properties and X-ray single crystal structure analysis, the AIEE was ascribed to the H(J)-aggregate formation aided by multiple intermolecular interactions to restrict intramolecular motion in the solid state. Moreover, their solid emissions could be reversibly tuned between “on” and “off” by mechanical grinding and recrystallization, due to the stacking model transition between H(J)-aggregation with loose molecular packing and J-aggregation with intense intermolecular interactions. A class of AIEE-active mechanochromic boron-difluorides were reported, and the mechanochromism was ascribed to the transition between H(J)-aggregation with loose molecular packing and J-aggregation with intense intermolecular interactions.![]()

Abstract
To develop a simple and efficient synthetic method for four-coordinate triarylboranes, we herein describe a tandem highly selective B-Cl/C-B cross-metathesis of two of the same or different arylboranes and C-H bond borylation to synthesize four-coordinate triarylboranes with a broad substrate scope. By switching substituent groups of the target molecules, different emission wavelengths can be achieved from 467 nm to 583 nm with aggregation-induced emission (AIE) properties.

Abstract
A series of difluoroboranyls derived from amides carrying a variable π-conjugated spacer between the electron-donating (D) and electron-accepting (A) groups was synthesized and characterized with (1)H, (11)B, (13)C, (15)N, and (19)F NMR, electronic absorption, fluorescence spectroscopies, and first-principle calculations. The D-to-A distance in the series varied from 1.5 to 4.5 Å, causing bathochromic shifts of both the absorption and fluorescence maxima by more than 120 and 213 nm, respectively. These trends are rationalized by quantum-mechanical calculations that allow for quantification of the charge-transfer distance. Theoretical calculations were also performed to determine the vibronic couplings and thus to reproduce the experimental band shapes.
