Abstract
A rhodamine-based compound (RBO), which has been constructed from the reaction between N-(rhodamine-6G)lactam-ethylenediamine and 2,1,3-benzoxadiazole-4-carbaldehyde, is reported here as a selective chemosensor for both Al3+ and Hg2+ ions in 10 mM HEPES buffer in water:ethanol (1:9, pH = 7.4). Absorption intensity of RBO increases considerably at 528 nm with these cations. It shows fluorescence enhancement at 550 nm by 1140- and 524-fold in the presence of Al3+ and Hg2+, respectively. LOD has been determined as 6.54 and 16.0 nM for Al3+ and Hg2+, respectively. Quantum yield and lifetime of RBO enhances with these metal ions. Fluorescence intensity of Al-probe complex or Hg-probe complex is quenched in the presence of fluoride or sulfide ion, respectively, opening a path for the construction logic gates. DFT analysis has been used to understand the spectral transitions. We have constructed a systematic development from single to five inputs complex circuit, and for the first time a time dependent five input complex logic circuit is reported herein.

Abstract
The high demand and scarcity of luminescent, photoconductive, and transparent gels necessitate its finding as they are potential components in photonic devices such as solar cell concentrators where optical losses via scattering and reabsorption require to be minimized. In this direction, we have reported highly transparent, blue luminescent as well as photoconductive gels exhibiting the hole mobility of 10-3 cm2/V s at ambient temperature as investigated by the time-of-flight technique. The π-driven self-standing supergels were formed using triazole-modified phenylene-vinylene derivatives as gelators in a nonpolar solvent. Different microscopic studies revealed its entangled network of interwoven fibrilar self-assembly and anisotropic order in the gel state. Supramolecular assembly of xerogels, studied by small- and wide-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS/WAXS) suggesting their local columnar hexagonal (Colh) superstructure, is beneficial for conducting gels. Rheological measurements direct the stiffness and robustness of the organogels. In addition, the gelators were developed as a sensing platform for the ultrasensitive detection of Fe(II) ions at ppb level. 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) titrimetric studies revealed that the interaction of the H-atom of triazole units with Fe(II) is responsible for quenching of blue fluorescence. Also, one of the gelators was successfully applied in bio-imaging using the pollen grains of the Hibiscus rosa-sinensis plant.

Abstract
Abstract
A new one-dimensional Zn(II) coordination polymer, {[ZnCl2(BBM)]·CH3OH}
n
(2,2-(1,4-butanediyl)bis-1,3-benzimidazole [BBM]), has been obtained from the hydrothermal reaction of zinc chloride with the flexible bis-benzimidazole ligand BBM and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, IR and UV–vis spectra. Structural analysis has revealed that the BBM ligand connects the Zn(II) atoms to form a square-wave chain, which is further extended into supramolecular layers through hydrogen bonds and π···π stacking interactions. Solid-state fluorescence investigations showed that the Zn(II) coordination polymer has an emission peak at 381 nm upon excitation at 330 nm, which is attributed to ligand-centered luminescence. It is only slightly red shifted as compared to the ligand but partially quenched due to the strong π···π stacking interactions.

Abstract
A novel receptor based on azo-derivatives of 1-naphthylamine (2-((E)-((4-chloro-3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)imino)methyl)-4-((E)-naphthalene-1-yldiazenyl)phenol(2) abbreviated CTNP was successfully designed and synthesized. Its sensing properties were studied deeply. Systematic studies of CTNP with HCO3- and AcO- anions in DMSO disclosed that there is hydrogen-bonding between CTNP and incoming anions. Significant changes in the visible region of the spectrum, as well as a drastic color change of CTNP from pale yellow to red, observed due to interaction as mentioned earlier. The stoichiometry of [CTNP: HCO3- or AcO-] complexes and association constants determined through Job's method and Benesi-Hildebrand (B-H) plot, respectively. Taking into account the analysis results, CTNP performs the selective recognition of sub-millimolar concentrations of HCO3- and AcO- efficiently. The antifungal activity of the receptor was tested against Aspergillus brasiliensis and Aspergillus niger. CTNP exhibited excellent antifungal activity against both strains. CTNP also represented antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus epidermidis. It was cleared that designed receptor can be applied under physiological conditions for a long duration.
