Abstract
A pair of enantiopure [6]-azairidahelicenes incorporating chirality at the metal center and on the helicenic ligand were synthesized by dynamic kinetic resolution (dkr) of a configurationally labile [4]-helicenic ligand (4-(2-pyridyl)-benzo[g]phenanthrene, L1H) using bis-cyclometalated chiral-at-metal only iridium(III) precursors as chiral inductors. The origin of the observed dkr is attributed to the different conformation and stability of diastereomeric reaction intermediates formed during the cyclometalation process. The isolated enantiomers exhibited circularly polarized phosphorescence (CPP), with |gphos| values of 1.8×10-3.

Abstract
Hybrid metal halide perovskites have demonstrated remarkable performances in modern photovoltaics, although their stabilities remain limited. We assess the capacity to advance their properties by relying on interfacial modulators featuring helical chirality based on P,M-(1-methylene-3-methyl-imidazolium)[6]helicene iodides. We investigate their characteristics, demonstrating comparable charge injection for enantiomers and the racemic mixture. Overall, they maintain the resulting photovoltaic performance while improving operational stability, challenging the role of helical chirality in the interfacial modulation of perovskite solar cells.

Abstract
The first chiral helicene-NHC gold(I) complexes efficient in enantioselective catalysis were prepared. The L-shaped chiral ligand is composed of an imidazo[1,5-a]pyridin-3-ylidene (IPy) scaffold laterally substituted by a configurationally stable [5]-helicenoid unit. The chiral information was introduced in a key post-functionalization step of a NHC-gold(I) complex bearing a symmetrical anionic fluoreno[5]helicene substituent, leading to a racemic mixture of complexes featuring three correlated elements of chirality, namely central, axial and helical chirality. After HPLC enantiomeric resolution, X-ray crystallography and theoretical calculations enabled structural and stereochemical characterization of these configurationally stable NHC-gold(I) complexes. The high potential in asymmetric catalysis is demonstrated in the benchmark cycloisomerization of N-tethered 1,6-enynes with up to 95 : 5 er.

Enantiopure Cyclometalated Rh(III) and Ir(III) Complexes Displaying Rigid Configuration at Metal Center: Design, Structures, Chiroptical Properties and Role of the Iodide Ligand. CHEMISTRY 2022. Abstract
Enantiopure N-heterocyclic carbene half-sandwich metal complexes of the general formula [Cp*M(C^C:)I] (M = Rh, Ir; C^C: = NI-NHC; NI-H = Naphthalimide; NHC = N-heterocyclic carbene) are reported. The rhodium compound was obtained as a single isomer displaying six membered metallacycle and was resolved on chiral column chromatography to the corresponding enantiomers (S)-[Cp*Rh(C^C:)I] (S)-2 and (R)-[Cp*Rh(C^C:)I] (R)-2. The iridium congener, however, furnishes a pair of regioisomers, which were resolved into (S)-[Cp*Ir(C^C:)I] (S)-3 and (R)-[Cp*Ir(C^C:)I] (R)-3 and (S)-[Cp*Ir(C^C:)I] (S)-4 and (R)-[Cp*Ir(C^C:)I] (R)-4. These regioisomers differ from each other, only by the size of the metallacycle; five-membered for 3 and six-membered for 4. The molecular structures of (S)-2 and (S)-4 are reported. Moreover, the chiroptical properties of these compounds are presented and discussed. These compounds display exceptional stable configurations at the metal center in solution with enantiomerization barrier ΔG≠ up to 124 kJ/mol. This is because the nature of the naphthalimide-NHC clamp ligand and the iodide ligand contribute to their configuration’s robustness. In contrast to related complexes reported in the literature, which are often labile in solution.

Abstract
The straightforward, multigram-scale synthesis of the partially saturated H6 -fluoreno[n]helicenes (n=5 or 7) featuring a central, overcrowded alkene is described. The key cyclization step was based on an intramolecular McMurry reaction from the corresponding 1,5-diketones. Chiral stationary phase HPLC analysis and isomer separation indicate that each helicenic compound is constituted of three diastereoisomers at room temperature, i. e. the configurationally stable (R,R,P)/(S,S,M) pair of enantiomers and an apparently achiral compound resulting from the rapid interconversion between the (R,S,P) and (S,R,M) enantiomers. The partially saturated H6 -fluoreno[n]helicenes are oxidatively aromatized to give an efficient access to the corresponding fluoreno[n]helicenes. The chiroptical properties (vibrational and electronic circular dichroism) of the chiral, enantiopure compounds have been measured and analyzed by quantum-chemical calculations, confirming their helicoidal nature.

Abstract
An expedient access to the first optically pure ruthenium complexes containing C1-symmetric cyclic (alkyl)(amino)carbene ligands is reported. They demonstrate excellent catalytic performances in asymmetric olefin metathesis with high enantioselectivities (up to 92% ee). Preliminary mechanistic insights provided by density functional theory models highlight the origin of the enantioselectivity.

Abstract
Well-defined optically pure transition metal (TM) complexes bearing C1- and C2-symmetric N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ligands were prepared from prochiral NHC precursors. As predicted by DFT calculations, our strategy capitalizes on the formation of a metal-carbene bond which induces an axis of chirality. Configurationally stable atropisomers of various NHC-containing TM complexes were isolated by preparative HPLC on a chiral stationary phase in good yields and excellent optical purities (up to 99.5% ee). The carbene transfer from an optically pure Cu complex to a gold or palladium center reveals, for the first time, a full stereoretentivity, supporting the hypothesis of an associative mechanism for the transmetalation. The potential of these new chiral TM complexes was illustrated in asymmetric catalysis with up to 98% ee.

Abstract
Novel [4, 6]helicenes (4a,b) bearing a fused imidazolium unit have been prepared from [4, 6]helicene-2,3-di-n-propyl-amines 3a,b. The in situ formation of N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) derivatives followed by their complexation to iridium(I) or rhodium(I) gave access to complexes 1a, 1'a, and 1b, containing mono-coordinated helicene-NHC, chloro and COD (COD = 1,5-cyclooctadiene) ligands. Ir and Rh complexes 1a and 1'a were characterized by X-ray crystallography. HPLC and NMR analyses showed that Ir(I) complex 1b existed as a mixture of two diastereomeric complexes corresponding to enantiomeric pairs M-(-)/P-(+)-1b1 and M-(-)/P-(+)-1b2 which differ by the position of COD through space. The chiroptical properties (electronic circular dichroism and optical rotation) of the four stereoisomers were measured. These complexes were also tested as catalysts in a transfer hydrogenation reaction.

Abstract
A unique class of enantiopure N-heterocyclic carbene half-sandwich iridium complexes is reported. These compounds display stable configurations at the metal center, as demonstrated by their chiroptical properties. Remarkably, because of the nature of the naphthalimide molecule, two regioisomers containing five-membered [( R)-2a and ( S)-2a] and six-membered [( R)-2b and ( S)-2b] iridacycles were obtained. Density functional theory calculations are advanced to rationalize their relative stability.

Abstract
The transmetalation reaction of a chiral-bidentate NHC–silver complex to racemic [lr(μ-Cl)(ppy)2]2 operates with kinetic resolution leading to chiral octahedral NHC–iridium(iii) complexes and enantio-enriched bis-cyclometalated iridium(iii) complexes.
