Abstract
Blue LEDs-irradiation of a mixture of N,N,N',N'-tetramethylethylenediamine (TMEDA) and perfluoroalkyl iodides (RF-I) - Electron Donor Acceptor (EDA)-complex - in the presence of triphenylamines (TPAs) in an aqueous solvent mixture afforded mono-perfluoroalkylated triphenylamines (RF-TPA) in good yields. These RF-TPA were further subjected to acetone-sensitized [6π]-electrocyclization at 315 nm-irradiation affording exclusively perfluoroalkylated endo-carbazole derivatives (RF-CBz) in quantitative yields. Mechanistic studies and photophysical properties of products are studied.

Abstract
The electronic and structural alterations induced by the functionalization of the 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligand in [Cu(I) (phen-R2)2]+ complexes (R=H, CH3, tertio-butyl, alkyl-linkers) and their consequences on the luminescence properties and thermally activated delay fluorescence (TADF) activity are investigated using the density functional theory (DFT) and its time-dependent (TD) extension. It is shown that highly symmetric molecules with several potentially emissive nearly-degenerate conformers are not promising because of low S1/S0 oscillator strengths together with limited or no S1/T1 spin–orbit coupling (SOC). Furthermore, steric hindrance, which prevents the flattening of the complex upon irradiation, is a factor of instability. Alternatively, linking the phenanthroline ligands offers the possibility to block the flattening while maintaining remarkable photophysical properties. We propose here two promising complexes, with appropriate symmetry and enough rigidity to warrant stability in standard solvents. This original study paves the way for the supramolecular design of new emissive devices.

Abstract
Perfluoroalkyl-containing substances (PFAS), have become omnipresent materials in the modern world for both commercial and research applications. Compounds such as perfluoroalkylated arenes and heteroarenes have found uses in surfactants, lubricants, and flame retardants as a result of their astonishing chemical stability. Consequently, the synthesis of such compounds encompasses a large body of scientific articles and patents developed in the previous century. Most recent reviews on this subject have thus focused on summarizing this traditional literature, and have thereby spurred the development of a new wave of reaction manifolds employing modern synthesis principles. This new generation of methodologies focuses on the greener synthesis of perfluoroalkylated aromatic scaffolds, through the use of more efficient organometallic reactions, as well as by photochemical and electrochemical strategies. Herein, we will summarize this cohort of reactions while highlighting current challenges and future desirable outcomes for their environmentally friendly synthesis.

Abstract
Ruppert-Prakash type reagents (TMSCF3, TMSC2F5, and TMSC3F7) are readily available, air-stable, and easy-to-handle fluoroalkyl sources. Herein, we describe a mild, copper-catalyzed cross-coupling of these fluoroalkyl nucleophiles with aryl and alkyl bromides to produce a diverse array of trifluoromethyl, pentafluoroethyl, and heptafluoropropyl adducts. This light-mediated transformation proceeds via a silyl-radical-mediated halogen atom abstraction pathway, which enables perfluoroalkylation of a broad range of organobromides of variable steric and electronic demand. The utility of the method is demonstrated through the late-stage functionalization of several drug analogues.

Abstract
Over the years, the development of new methodologies for the introduction of various fluorinated motifs has gained a significant interest due to the importance of fluorine-containing molecules in the pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries. In a world eager to eco-friendlier tools, the need for innovative methods has been growing. To address these two challenges, copper-based reagents were developed to introduce CF2H, CF2RF, CF2CH3, CF2PO(OEt)2 and CF2SO2Ph motifs on a broad range of substrates. Copper-based fluorinated reagents have the advantage of being inexpensive and generally in situ generated or prepared in a few steps, which make them convenient to use. In this review, an overview of the recent advances made for the synthesis of fluorinated molecules using copper-based fluorinated reagents will be given.

Abstract
A convenient, oxidant-free protocol was developed for the ortho trifluoromethylation of aniline via picolinamide assisted Fe-promoted C-H functionalization under ultraviolet irradiation. In this transformation acetone essentially acted as both a solvent to dissolve reactants and a low-cost radical initiator to efficiently generate a CF3 radical from Langlois' reagent. A broad substrate scope was tolerated and picolinamide bearing strong electron withdrawing groups also could be transformed into the corresponding products with acceptable yields. Furthermore, the value of this method has been highlighted via the efficient synthesis of the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug floctafenine.
